    Great video Chris. There's probably a 100 different ways to bid a stump granting job. One of the biggest factors is the location in your area. I always bid by the job I never do by the inch . The biggest factor in my area is that we're in such a tight urban area that it really depends on what size machine I can use And I have multiple size machines just because of that.

      @@ChrissStumpGrinding I'm in Southern California. The soil goes from one extreme to the other. Some areas are very rocky and some areas are very SandyAnd also a lot of clay .So I got all soil types to deal with.

      I do not bid by the inch either, that causes too much confusion. I go big how big the grind will be and my time estimate. We have so many mounded stumps here in IL, a 12" stump can be a 6-foot grind.

    Thanks for the feedback. I'm very inexperienced in stump grinder. I've got a bandit zt1844 .So I guess that until I have a more realistic time frame for jobs. The per inch is a more way for me to be consistent.

    I. ran wheel machine for years, last year bought my first track machine, never again going back to a wheel machine for tree work at least. Lawn can be soaking wet if you're careful and know what you're doing no damage at all. Also that stump here $575 low end to $750 high end with cleanup.

    I go by how long it's going to take me to grind also and what area. I work mainly in the same 3 or 4 cities or towns and their are certain areas that are loaded with rocks or ledge I've been grinding long enough to know what parts of towns even what streets or neighborhoods that are teeth breakers so I explain to costumer why my price might seem alittle high and I don't fo cleanups I have a couple of landscapers that I give customers their number if their interested in cleanup. But 90% of my jobs come from a couple of tree companies, landscapers, asphalt companies fence companies and rest are referrals or people seeing me at gas station or neighbors seeing me grind.

      Tony, You sound just like me. If my machine is already on the job next door I will clean it up. I usually do grind and go. Almost all my work comes from people I already have worked for. Thanks watching!

    Every jobs different on how I bid. Most jobs are $3 an inch for local and $3.5-5 outside of that radius. I do discounts for more stumps or go to a flat rate per stump, $35-$60 per stump. I really sell the clean up and top soil, cause you can double your revenue and most customers don’t want to fiddle with it. We run a 80 hp rayco(pull behind), Bandit SG40 and MT100 w/grinding attachment(we have options)

    • @scrapmanindustries
      @scrapmanindustries Рік тому

      $35-$60 per stump? I hope that’s just the actual grinding. Is that the price you tell the customer and then add on the extras or do you just tell the customer $500 or something and that includes clean up and everything. I’d be losing a crap ton of money telling people $60 a stump. Course I also do the clean up and back fill standard now. And I explain that up front.

    • @zechariahmoriarty969
      @zechariahmoriarty969 Рік тому

      @@scrapmanindustries so for example if I have 10 + stumps I will find a decent average on grinding price, the range varies on size of stumps, That’s just my grinding price. To figure my cleanup/topsoil price I still use total inches of stumps for my baseline. The reason I don’t do per inch on alot of stumps, you could get a job with 10 - 30” stumps and that gets really expensive in hurry. For my estimates I break it down by line items; Grinding, cleanup and topsoil, so if they want it all done take total price or just select which services they want.

      My local minimum is $100… if it’s a single stump I will charging $3 per inch. Let’s say I have a single 50” stump down the street it would be $150 grinding and $75 for cleanup and $75 for topsoil. $300 stump.

  • @pantherdiversifiedgrinding3430
    @pantherdiversifiedgrinding3430 2 роки тому +1

    I charge by the job, I figure out how long I will be on site and if there is any goofy stuff like a fence post in a stump or rocks I put a little extra on the price to account for teeth. 95% of my jobs are grind & go . Most people around here don`t want to pay for hauling away the chips/mulch. Charging by the inch will get you in the poor house real quick, especially on the bigger stumps
