We are planning to complete Shillong to cherrapunji mawsmai cave, seven sister, Dainthlen, Kynrem, wahkaba and Nohkhalikhai falls within 7 am to 2 pm ... Is this possible.... ?!? Because we r planning to go down to 3500 steps after that and stay there in night for exploring double decker root bridge next day...
we love people from outside northeast to come and visit our beautiful place..we welcome them with open arms..n i thank you for sharing our beautiful place to the world....just one thing i would like to say is that..please..its not cherapunji..its sohra...please rectify this...we are proud of our cuture the name of our place...please...respect that...thank you..n great video..thank you for coming
@@Radhika_Nomllers original name of the town is Sohra( meaning Orange ) called since creation of the town by local people. Cherrapunji was called since British rule because they found it hard to pronounce Sohra so they pronounce it Cherra. The name evolved into Cherrapunjee meaning 'land of oranges'. Cherrapunji has been marketised alot for far too long now. Government had changed name officially to Sohra by putting roadside direction boards in local name. But tourists are used to the other name because of what they read in schools and magazines. Only effective way is to change name to Sohra in school textbooks.
Charming Cherrapunji.. 3:08- evergreen root bridge.😍💚 3.24: when the water falls your happiness comes in rushes.🙂 4.11: the rainbow falls, the place is really so mesmerizing and you relax here. 4.32: There are something magical about waterfall .They are roaring and calming. But the 'Wei Sawding' waterfall is really marvelous.Water falling with love in this place. Honestly, your cinematic shot is really worth it. 5:35- That's nice, you make a crown with leaves, 😋 Finally, David Scott the place is quite beautiful..... Another energetic vlog. All the shots are perfectly arranged, nice transitions also. You know what l didn't get notification today,That's why l am so late. But I enjoys it. Stay safe, stay healthy. Keep shinning. Love you radhika di.🙂🌷
Now that has changed to someother place known as Mawsynram which now receives the highest rainfall in India and the World. During my visit to Meghalaya laat month I was informed about this by the locals there and then I researched and found it to be right. I really loved Meghalaya it's awesome, even I have made 2 vlogs of my Meghalayan trip.
Radhika you made an amazing vlog!!! Aug, 2019 I along with my group of friends been to that place and the homestay belongs to my friend's uncle and therefore our whole journey became quite cheap. Also, I am glad that you visited rainbow falls because most of the tourists or bloggers don't, but whoever reading this and planning to visit Nongriat village, I am telling you guys, you will definitely feel calm and relaxed and whatnot. Tip: While going downstairs, you'll get locals selling bamboo sticks for 10-20 bucks. Do take it, it will definitely help you. I am staying in Shillong for more than 4 years and every day feels different and beautiful. :)
Hi Priyanka...I found your comment useful. Will you please guide me when is the perfect time to go thr...so that we can find good greenery and clean water in lakes also.
Very nice video. I lived in Laitkor Peak, Shillong 3 years of my teenage life and I would trek among these hills and play in the pools .. best part of my life. Your video kind of re-created that for me, Thanks!
Beautiful vlog . Cherapunji is actually a distorted name of the Britishers. As much as I enjoyed the video but with due respect as a localite the name is more often locally called as Sohra. Please put note to that before putting out names in a social media platform because it could hurt the sentiments of the people here . Thanks again for showing how truly amazing the place is !
Yes veg is available :) I find monsoon to be the best time because it is very green, rain do not bother me haha but to be on a safer side go in September
The unforgettable landscapes of Meghalaya will stay in your heart, long after your journey is over. The table-top heights of Sohra (Cherrapunjee) are brimful with waterfalls, streams, and forest trails. Gaze at the Bangladeshi plains from the many vantage points on the state’s southern ridges. The outskirts of Shillong and the high plateau around Mylliem and Smit offer postcard perfect representations of the simple life - complete with pastel green meadows, tall pine groves, crisp cool air, and quiet villages with quaint cottages and wooden fences spread across the countryside.
Very helpful video. I am planning to go there in December. Can you let me know about the local transport? Is it easily available or a private cab needs to be hired to travel to these destinations?
Hello Radhika Very nice and helpful series for Meghalaya. Would you recommend visiting there in April end ? I mean thats not monsoon season, will i miss out on greenery as i see in your video and the waterfall might not be in their full glory ?
Great work. Last year we were there as well. We cover Tryna village to Rainbow falls route in a single day (both going and come back). Feeling nostalgic......

But why? What is the difference between Sohra and Cherrapunji? Just curious! We outsiders hear Cherrapunji more, rarely people know about Sohra :)
