Thank you for this video! That screw is so difficult to get out, didn’t need to remove the plastic fan myself, used it to slide the replacement belt onto the metal bar. Very helpful video, thank you.

Helpful video, thank you. On our Bosch WTE86300US/09, the drive belt broke. My very handy friend came over to help replace it. I had already removed the top panel and the right side panel. After loosening up the plastic cover over the fly wheel (could not get to the back clips open to fully remove), lifting it as high as possible, he realized that he could snake the drive belt over the fan and then across the spindle. This required releasing the drum belt from its pulley (by undoing the spring), sliding the drive belt over the fan and across the spindle to it's spot onto its pulley, and then reversing the steps to get the drum belt back on its pulley. It totally worked and saved us the time and trouble of taking off the front of the machine. I was even able to vacuum out 10 years of dust from the fan. We should have shot a video but hopefully this all makes sense and maybe helps someone else.

Excellent, thank you very much for uploading this video. It has been a great help in diagnosing our loss of drive to the drum and importantly the most trouble free way of releasing the drum to provide sufficient access around the drum to fit the new belt. Job not done yet as there's a two week order up time from Siemens for the belt (as you say £16 delivered so hopefully a low cost repair all done). I couldn't help noticing that looking at your identification plate your dryer has a lower KW rating? Our ID plate shows a 2300w with 2600w max. Perhaps Siemens recognise we need a bit more heat here in the UK?😄

Glad i could help. I hope you succeed with yours to 😊
I believe the difference in Wattage is due to here in DK (and mainland EU) we run 230V and i believe in the UK you run 240V right? So with the Same heating element but with higher voltage, your total wattage goes a little up. 😉
