Railfest and New Locomotives - Plant City Florida

- Well, the time has come for a very long sought event, Plant City's Railfest! Though in October rather than April, the event is back after a year in its full form! We aren't able to stay for the whole event, however I'm able to substitute one of the trains we missed for one we saw on a different day, which allows me to showcase a Brand New CSX SD70MAC upgrade #4535. Some interesting stuff in this one, so I hope y’all get something out of it, whether that be a laugh, some new information, or just some general enjoyment. Let’s face it, I’m no professional, but railroading is my lifelong hobby. To those who are still watching after all this time, I appreciate all of the support, since I’m simply doing what I love. I attempt to upload railroading videos as often as possible, being limited by basic lively boundaries, whether it be school, work, or simply a packed schedule regarding the family.

I hope that the content which I produce is somewhat enjoyable. My videos primarily show what railfanning is truly about. Whether that includes my friends, jokes from our boredom, or simply the trains themselves. I’m hoping that along this journey, new viewers will become regular fans of this channel, as I’m showing some things which others may neglect. Besides, I’m just doing what I love and it’s always nice to share that with people who share those interests. In the end, whatever I’m producing is meant for trainwatchers and railroad enthusiasts of all ages.
Thanks for Watching!!!

This goes hard. EMD Pacing is the best experience for a railfan. 💯
OMG DAKOTA THE PACING SCENE GOES HARD
I need to come down! Hope to meet you there maybe next year!
I love it when the engines of the Q452 bounce to the beat like they got hydraulics!
That’s another one of the fun aspects of chasing and being able to see those minute details. For the record though, the ID was Q442, not Q452. 52 is Miami to Waycross freight, 42 is the Tampa one.
Good stuff brother
Ahh thank Ya much💯
Awesome catches! I also went railfanning @ the Brunswick Railroad Days on October 2 and the highlights were; K676-30 with CN power, N788-29 with 969 (Equipped with a K5HLA) leading, a YN2 GP38-2, and more.
Thank Ya! That sounds like a good ol’ time!
I went on the third and PO30 had 130 leading
Cool train layout video.
Nice meeting you there
Was a pleasure🤙🏼
Great video
Ahh thanks Nick💯
Cool chase of 4535. Those rebuilt Macs are definitely a nice change from all the other gevos we get on CSX
Nice Dakota!
Ah thank you much!
LOVED the pacing shots!!!
Hated that I missed Plant City Railfest!
Eh don’t feel too bad, there really weren’t many trains, a bunch of people, but there’s always next year!! I do too enjoy those pacing bits😎
Good video thanks from Arizona
Thanks to ya from Florida
Awesome job keep up the awesome work
another comment nice music choice for the chase of Q452 for some reason I think it just went with the whole scene!
Ah it absolutely does. That’s why I chose it😉
Ah yes... foam fest... Nice video!
You gonna be in Plant City for National Train Day next week?
Perhaps. I’d like to get out, of course, but I have no idea where I might go. I can’t guarantee Plant City will be on the list.
@@kotabeaner Oh ok
@Kotabeaner I plan on being there
i was in the video i was wearing a ns 4000 shirt
Nice!
To the Florida railroad museum
what was that green switcher in the front?
Ayyyyy G stuff brotha💯
Apprić Brudda
Noice
Indeed so
Do you know when the 2023 railfest is?
Unfortunately, I do not. If I hear or find out a date, I’ll try to update on that.
Does anyone have current train symbols/count that run daily through Plant City?
Daily trains are as follows
Q442 (Tampa to Waycross Freight)
Q441 (Waycross to Tampa Freight)
I046 (Tampa to Jax Intermodal)
I045 (Jax to Tampa Intermodal)
Amtrak P091 (Southbound Silver star)
Amtrak P092 (Northbound Silver Star)
Those are all of the daily trains. The rest are as follows.
I144 (replaces the I046 symbol on sundays)
I145 (Replaces the I045 symbol on Saturdays)
O709 (Local Switcher) Monday - Friday
O708 (Local Switcher) (Sunday - Friday)
O710 (Local Switcher) Monday - Friday
The rest can vary. Ethanol trains, very sparse, but existing coal trains, and the occasional reroute can also be seen from time to time. All of the daily runners though (With the exception of Amtrak), aren’t gonna be seen through town until the sunset hour and beyond. Hope this helps!
@@kotabeaner Oh this helps 100% I appreciate this info! I'm new to the area, and trying to get my bearings of the region's train activity. The S line above Vitis Jct does capture my attention. I also want to hang around Winston and Edison Junction. Not sure what runs in the above spots.
Hey Dakota, I caught Amtrak 160 on Sunday, and one of the guys there before he passed told me Q144 is no long Q144. It is now I144, is this true?
Pretty neat, I actually also managed to snag him at mango on Sunday. Yes, as of October 18, all intermodal symbols have switched from Q to I.
I donated 306 dollars and 74 cents
0:57 I totally didn’t flip off the drone
