Maya Sandu is a competent and honest politician of OUR country. I believe that only she, at the moment, can and should lead the country out of the crisis and chaos, which are in the hands of the mafia, thieves and a traitor to the Motherland. 1. Dodon's poor relationship with his two neighbours has everything to do with both country's anti-Russian policies which extends to disliking Russia's allies. It takes two to tango.
2. Euronews is nothing more than a "Voice of America" for Pan-Europeanism, as is Radio Free Europe. As such it opposes Soviet ideology, Pan-Slavism, Pan-Arab politics, Pan-Africanism, Chinese interests, and everything else that is a threat to Western hegemony.
3. No more undisguised conspicuous dog-whistling to EU mandarins exists than the woefully pathetic "fighting corruption". Which society is "corruption-free"? The idea that the EU is a sterile "corruption free" environment is PR twaddle lifted from the Brussels playbook. If it were true, why has Czech commissioner Vera Jourova babbled about her vision that her beloved EU needs to do even more to fight injustice and corruption in the member states? Yet it is people like yours truly that decree their target regime as being on the side of the angels once they give them a joining date.
4. Even the presenter peddles the contentious point of the EU "calling out" Moldova on matters of corruption as if the EU being strait-laced is cut and dried, whereas in actual fact many outsiders have called the EU out itself over its dishonesty and injustice.
5. If Lukashenko wins the Belarusian election against a pro-EU candidate, "it must have been rigged due to foreign interference". When Dodon won the 2016 Presidential vote against Sandu, "it must have been rigged due to foreign interference". Now speaking with the benefit of hindsight, Sandu wiped the floor with Dodon, and did Dodon give Sandu to organise Euromaidan-style nationwide street protests? No. He moved out of her way and she currently presides over Moldova. What about the dog that didn't bark?? Where are the accusations of Russian interference? What was different in 2016? How is it that when a pro-Russian candidate wins it is due to Russian meddling, and when four yeas later the election is contested by the same two participants and the pro-EU figure wins, the election is pure as driven snow. That is the height of hypocrisy.
When politicians refer to “anti-corruption,” their intention is not to envision an immaculate world devoid of corruption, which remains unattainable within the confines of our universe. In this context, the term employed by Maia Sandu conveys the pursuit of diminishing systematic corruption. In contrast to the European Union (EU), Moldova, three years prior, grappled with the pervasiveness of systematic corruption, resulting in impediments to private enterprise, the dissemination of misleading information by journalists, opacity within the judicial sector, and a crisis of public faith in the state.
Conversely, the EU adheres to principles that emphasize transparency, constituting a model suitable for Moldova’s trajectory. While not impervious to challenges, the EU experiences a lower incidence of corruption, substantiated by statistical data.
Regarding Russian interference, the assertion holds true. Repeated attempts by Russia to manipulate Moldovan elections are documented, with substantiating evidence provided by journalists (such as ZdG and others). Instances span from the Transnistria region to the financial backing of Dodon’s party by Russian sources. Despite not factoring in the views of Moldovans residing abroad, a notable 70% of the population supports alignment with the EU. The 2016 election outcome, which saw Dodon’s victory, was facilitated by his party’s disinformation campaign and Russia’s exerted influence to sway the results.
The strategic interest for Russia to foster a pro-Russian president in Moldova is evident. Should this rationale not be readily apparent, it is lamentable, for this objective has consistently epitomized Russia’s ambitions.
Bravo d.Maia Sandu.
Maia Sandu is now president of Moldova
Moldovan governments, which launched the major reform programme in 1994, including large-scale privatisation of small and medium enterprises and agricultural land. The promoters of the ‘Washington Consensus’[i] used a stick and carrot approach in persuading Moldova to transform its economy by providing loans in return for promises of reform. Moldovan officials paid less attention to the stick while gobbling up the carrots. Otherwise how can one explain Moldova’s accumulated debt to the IMF and the World Bank of $621 million (over 50 per cent of total debt) and the fact that the country is one step from default?
Brava Maia!

If they are smart they just go back as part of Romania and this will solve all problems, they were part of Romania before Russia take them away and they speak same language. They will have better GDP and be in EU as part of Romania which eliminates all the problems they have right now, no more poverty, low pensions and so on...
Unfortunately majority is not smart enough and we have transnistria as well.Territory controlled by russian army.Romania is part of NATO and won't accept Moldova back with territory with russian army.We should either give up territory either remove somehow russian army, which is not so easy.Anyway for this actions we need a normal government which will solve corruption problems and transnistria problems and afterwards we can discuss about going back to our original country and people.
@@romankistrui8431 yes, in an ideal world Moldova would go back to Romania but without Transnistria, which was only given to Moldova in the first place by the USSR in exchange for the Bessarabian coast and Chernivtsi, so Romania could just absorb the old Moldovan lands and leave Transnistria to do whatever they want to do
“solve all problems” that alone gives this no credibility
Her English is so good
Maia Sandu ❤️🌺🌺🌺🌿we all Moldovan citizens support and love you! you are the only sincere, 💕understanding, smart and honest president ...🌸🌸 success in the future and we hope to be in charge all your life!🌺🌺🌸🌿🦉👏🏻💕

To the people vouching for Moldova-Romania union: there are a lot of minorities in Moldova(gagauz, bulgarian, ukrainian) who suffered and were oppressed under the Romanian regime before the Soviet union came to our land as a consequence of Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. These minorities do not speak Moldovan due to historical reasons, and if Moldova, Romania union happens, then there is no chance that we will have again Russian language as lingua franca. Besides minorities, many moldovans want to be independent no matter which languages connect us to other countries(would you see it possible the unity of UK and US only because they have the same language??)
I'm not vouching against the EU, actually I am proEU, but don't mention that we would like to give away our independence.
They do not speak romanian due to selfish reasons, the minorities were privileged during both imperial and soviet times, they represent a burden to the society and do nothing but separate it. If you live in a country at least have the respect to speak the national language which is btw Romanian, there is no such language as "Moldovan" it's just a dialect of the romanian language, or do you want to say that americans speak american language? XDDD
@@Alexandru-rp8hp when people are constantly worried where to find money to buy medicine and food, you don't really have a priority in learning another language. There is a Romanian language at schools but the quality is ridiculous.
@@Alexandru-rp8hp they wants to perserve their identity, against agressive romanization
Romania also have minorities in the form of Romani and Hungarians.
in the context of a Moldova-Romania union, they would still preserve their identity and their rights as a minority group.
You seem to forget that Romania has changed ever since it joined the EU and has promoted its own minority groups and have provided them with protection.
I agree that right now it is not the time to think about such a union.
We must do our best to solve this country's problems before we aim for something higher.
@@Alexandru-rp8hp I suggest you graduate high school before you attempt to engage in a discussion on the internet.
because you have completely missed the point of the person's comment.
