This is my all time favorite Pink Martini song, as has been for 20 years. Last year at the Stern Grove Fest in San Francisco they came to play. This intro started and i couldnt fucking believe it, my girlfriend was so happy for me - knowing how much i adore this song. Without thought my body moved to the gorgeous music. The guy singing that day was the guy from NPR. The first words came out then “sorry, i forgot the lyrics, haha LETS DO IT IN ARABIC INSTEAD.” I was so disappointed, but i looked past because the music is divine. Few seconds later “yup, i forgot the lyrics in Arabic, too. NEXT SONG.” I left after that.

Y su sonido es con guitarras españolas, en el tango primitivo y en su momento más estilizado se ha usado cuerdas, bandoneón, pero jamás maracas, ni palitos ritmicos. La soledad es mas bien, su resultado final, un rumba lenta.
Por alguna razón, esta canción me transportó a Rayuela de Julio Cortázar. Existen unos fragmentos dónde se narra la música de una manera tan deliciosa, que bueno, me imagino perfectamente a la Maga, reposando así, entre meneos y ganas de levantar el vuelo baile.

This is a great example of the era where "mash-ups" were common. Yet in this case it resulted in a masterpiece. I'm enamoured by this song.
