I followed Lea Salonga growing up & turned into a beautiful young lady to a gorgeous young woman 💖 I love her so dearly...she's the same age as my oldest daughter 💖 Angelic voice she has 🌹
This is just more than detailed as what we usually have been watching and reading from other media sources. The nitty gritty of this interview is like a girl-heart-to-heart talk with the Tony Award winning actress. Thank you for the precise revelation of what we have not known yet. Thanks for uploading this video, this made me subscribe and gave thumbs up.
Wow! I thought this was another typical interview about how Lea started her career. But so many details about the show was also revealed. I didn’t even know these controversies existed before. Amazing!
The Universe must have a hand in it to land in the Philippines as its final search, and, voila "Kim" is in the person of Lea Salonga. And the rest is history!
The Universe has spotted the small islands of the Philippines and right in Manila city was this young, small and charming lady, named Lea Salonga (who was just 17 y.o.), and, voila, "Kim" was found. It was a heaven-sent event that hit Manila as part of global search for this great musical show that also found several other Philippine theater artists that complete the 'Miss Saigon' cast in West End, London. Ms. Lea Salonga had paved the way for Asian artists to have opportunities to play in West End and Broadway as well as touring musical productions in different parts of the world. This is a great interview. Amazing lady interviewer!👋😘
According to one of the composers, one of the reasons they chose to go to Manila and hold auditions was because of a Lino Brocka movie. Schonberg saw this movie in Paris and it struck him how beautiful the scoring was and it stayed with him.
Lea was a young woman in the 10th anniversary concert of Les mis as the street urchin and returned to the stage as Fantine in the 25 anniversary concert of les mis.
She is exactly correct. People who taught me my profession told me to pass on what they gave me. She is tiny but mighty. I know she is married, and certainly respect that, but I’m in love anyway.
well might have been really her birthday gift to the fandom ...to share this nitty gritty details as this was /published on her birthday feb 22 ... casting and "race" . she take on roles with historical impact or 'content' as what is the term nowadays (Music and Disney and theater God's will destiny trumps and win over the prejudices and stereotypes at mga maling akala .... yay!!!
“Even people who haven’t seen miss Saigon think “miss Saigon, controversy.” Uh no lol. Never heard about this until now and I’ve seen the show three times.

@@bebemoonLucky you, i hope to see Lea in concert here in my country soon. You learn some Thai words. I don't know anything in Tagalog.👍
I adore Lea.
When Lea Salonga is talking, you literally don't needed a subtitle. ♥
And no need for us to refer to lyrics when she sing as well.
Even when she sings, she enunciates every word perfectly.

Learned a lot from this interview
Lea was a young woman in the 10th anniversary concert of Les mis as the street urchin and returned to the stage as Fantine in the 25 anniversary concert of les mis.
Legend
I wonder if someone who knows how to edit videos could edit out all the hiccups “repeating bits” since this is a really nice interview.
Where did you find this rare video of Ms. Lea Salonga? Woaahhh
From internet archive. There are 28 clips and i used online merger. It turned out this way. 😓
@@poomnakyutti Ooo that's explains the doubling.. thank u for the video~!

I’m so annoyed that the interviewer interrupted constantly. I get she was excited but dang let the lady talk😂
Thank you
Love U Lea
This Interview is the most complete Story of how Lea got the role....coming from Lea herself
Great interview except why does it keep on jumping?
So many parts repeating, it feels almost deliberate. Maybe it avoids copyright strikes for some strange reason? Weird.
Non stop repeats
I love you pretty Leah
Her speaking voice reminds me so much of Lara Fabian.
💖💖💖💖💖
👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️
Omg I love this woman. Don't you?
Did she ever get to play her dream roles?
My idiol👏👏👏
I wonder what year this interview was done.

“Even people who haven’t seen miss Saigon think “miss Saigon, controversy.”
Uh no lol. Never heard about this until now and I’ve seen the show three times.
This interviewer interrupts a lot. Annoying.
yeah good video. yeah good video.
And look at Vietnam now. And look at Vietnam now.
Lea salonga.. BIG NAME...
The host kept cutting her off, and Lea was getting annoyed of her.
22:18 "the more, the manyer" hahahaha
Original Boy Band. “Osmond Brothers”
Ricky Martin & the rest of Menudo are her friends since childhood ...
Jackson 5
Nope, THE BEATLES, the G.O.A.T.
Ok come on, she's likeable as well.
Annoying repetition in the sound. Has anyone noticed this?
It's nuts. Wish this could be cleaned up.
Leah kept cutting off the interviewer.
True. Hahaha but it’s okay. We love her
Actually the interviewer is cutting her (as they usually do), but Lea keeps talking which I think is great, since she finishes what she starts.
@@j.p.3345 You missed the joke.
Yeah,I noticed that too.I thought thats the way in the theater. You start your song before your partner ends.
Shess sounds like .... not pinoy talagang hasa ang dila pgdating sa english
The interviewer keeps interrupting her. How annoying! 😝
Who is the interviewer?
Maria Hinojosa hosted her own show for five years on PBS, One-on-One
I LOVE KLIM.
God the editing is absolutely terrible
Repeating talking
