I can not explain why I'm so fascinated lately with watching excavators work! I absolutely love the sound they make and the scraping of material and the ground is so relaxing to me.. this video I enjoy tremendously!
Although you did a fantastic job using the mini, my equipment of choice for a little job like this would be the box blade. Scarifiers to rip the entire road and the box to smooth and crown it. May not have needed to add any rock either. Just one man's opinion. Good video, keep them coming.
Hey Doug! Yea I totally agree that would have been a great option too! We have a tractor with a box blade and rippers but we just got the box blade fixed (it had been bent crooked after my dad caught it on a stump a few years back) and I just have never used it and wasn't familiar yet with how to do a driveway with one.
You did a great job, especially considering your budget. Glad to see you getting jobs like this. You made it look like a million dollars on a budget of $100. Sorry to hear about your Deere, but as Intold you before, you should’ve gotten a Cat.
Wow, the original road was packed down pretty hard. I noticed the front of the mini was lifting up at times as you did the scratching. Like you said at the end, it would have been nice to take it all back & use the cloth, however at times you just have to work within the client’s budget. Good job Gavin. Take care & cheers🐨🦘🥰
I’d rip the whole thing with a bunch of passes with my box blade scarifiers down all the way. Lay it back down flat, then top coat it with C&R. Looks good 👍🏼!
My personal opinion with the equipment you have i probably would've just scratched everything up with the bucket to fluff the driveway up then regraded it with your blade. That would've filled in all the potholes, fluffed the driveway up and you wouldn't have necessarily needed more gravel. Might have taken a bit longer but would've been a savings on the customers end. OH and remember driveways always need a crown to shed water. Like i said just my opinion. Enjoy the videos especially when you branch out and try new things such as this. Keep them coming!
Yeah man, that is some kind of skill to get that done inexpensively. Bucket 10/10, and was that your tailgating? Because I could even tell from the shaky shot how buttery smooth that was.
I CRINGED, the saying "you get what you paid for" comes to mind. thats one way to get repeat customers, not sure if thats good or bad though. the contour of the road surface goes along way to reduce maintenance, just saying.
The bucket scraping the ground is so relaxing to both hear and watch!
I absolutely love the sound of the bucket scraping the ground moving rhe material.... it is so relaxing and soothing to both watch and see!

Love the sounds of the scraping during the grading process, love the camera view of the job being done.

It would been cool Tripp the whole drive up
As a pot hole corrector, I think your services would be in even higher demand!!!👍👍
Thank you Chipper!

Very Good JOB Looks Nice!!!
You're doing it right I do it the same way in northeast Pennsylvania and in Northwest Arkansas
Awesome, thanks JT!
You have that grader scraper ready with a small tractor for several years

Thanks Josh! That is definitely one way this driveway could have been redone for sure!
To put a crown on that driveway would have really driven the cost through the roof.
I would have used a tractor and box blade and crusher run. But that's just because it's all I have a lot of experience with for driveways.
Yeah that's a great option too for this driveway! Thanks for commenting!

Thanks James! Yeah that was me tailgating! I've gotten pretty good at it over the last few years LOL!
Nice work on a tight budget!
Thank you!
Why didn't you use the roller machine
I don't own one. Too expensive to rent.
Good job and good video brother.
Thanks Jeff I really appreciate it! Glad you enjoyed watching!
Wonderful job!
Thank you Gayle!
Awesome precision
Thanks Chuck!
A lot of people don’t know that u need to rip a pot whole out. They think u can just boxblade it and b done
hole
You can just box blade it and be done with it because box blades rip up holes.
9:25 That'd make a great back scratcher.
Looks great!
Thanks Judy!
What did you charge for this type of budget job?
He never discloses costs
Power rake or box blade with scarifiers would have been a better choice of equipment--probably would not have needed additional gravel.
👍🏼gotta break the crust out of those potholes. Otherwise they’ll just keep coming back. Like pushing your fist into a bowl of cereal. Good job
Exactly! They can be tough to get rid of sometimes!
Damn fine job
Thank you Kenny!
You can do those with your hands bro
Ok semangat mantap sukses mampir
👍
box blade on tractor would have done a faster better job
True. Just not familiar enough with one to be comfortable doing it that way.
