Mlbb also copied a lot of heroes from other games, it's hypocrisy if they complain about this, it's called character and game reference and a lot of games copy from each other.

HoK game was released before MLBB but they never go for global market. But a year after HoK, MLBB was released and MLBB sole target is global audience/market so everyone tend to know MLBB.
And Yes HoK also go for Global market after a year MLBB released and an alternative version of it called AoV(Arena of Valor). Arena of Valor is an alternate version of HoK release by same company. But that game lost the competition with MLBB so HoK company now release it's full version HoK to Global market.
And about the hero and skin copying. YES, HoK give the right to montoon to copy their game hero. (Lancelot, Jawhead, Zilong(Yu Zhao), Layla, etc). But there is no clear information about the hero right can be abrogate, but Moonton feels really uneasy seeing HoK going for Global market. Thats why Moneyton give out free epic skin 😅 and tokens without any hassle. Moonton that was own by Bytedance(TikTok parent company) start looking for buyer in middle east country 😅 probably from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 [We will know if Bytedance is going to sold MLBB to Saudi Arabia or not in these coming MSC 2024].

tl:dr of this game based from what I experienced while playing:
Most of the mechanics are the same as MLBB
(buying equipment on the spot since most mobas need you to go back the base, almost the same character gameplay like in the ads)
Majority of it are from League of Legends
(map is almost an exact copy, a healing plant near the first tower, UI, and etc.)
It's mostly like League but have some ML vibes
definitely much better ping than ML from what I experienced
If you've played ML or LoL WR for hours you'll eventually adapt to it.

she's a combination of Lancelot and Wanwan. She's a high mechanic hero with a really great sustain and burst! The ult is similar to wanwan ult due to immune, but it’s magic dmg instead of true and physical dmg. The many sashes are just her ult first phase as you need to combo into the end phase ult which is when she flys. She doesn’t have to hit a target, she only need to follow a path that she creates using her other skills if I remember correctly and her passive is just a very cool explosion that does more dmg. So she’s more similar to Joy with her dashes to unlock the ult and can use her skills as a place holder, but you don’t have to hit enemies, it’s recommended because it does dmg. But not a requirement.
How to make a game Balanced according to HOK:make everyone busted asf you can't even explain it normally (I mean one of their marksmen can be immune to dmg at early game,a support that can reverse damage dealt to you,two fighters that doesn't need to go to base because one of them can revive on the spot and cc anyone around them and the other has a built in auto regen...)

The voices are quite unpolished in terms of the post processing (like echoes or maybe even an eq). It also sounds generic at least compared to Wild Rift. But at least they have more languages available.

It's pretty simple, just dash 3-5 times using Ult
Her Ultimate will keep dashing if you hit the enemies or hit you own skill. You can use second skill when Enemy in range and the first skill to the enemy and then you use your ultimate and congrats, You can fly

Altho wanwans Ultimate is easy to access(3 marks) this one depends on how many she dashes(her ult duration) wanwans ult depends on her attack speed.
It's really not easy unless u r playing in low rank. She has a smaller range than moskop and most meta requires mm with high mobility or dash .

She currently has the lowest base hp out of all mm so she can sustain dmg much unlike other mm like layla and she still need to get close to her enemies to get her passive unlock and even if she did that heros with purity skill and lock her skill or heros with high mobility and dash and simply get out of her range ( which is our current meta) or enemies can simply use winter crown. All that work for nothing

I suggest you switch hero for the time being.
If wanwan is that bad in ranked you might as well switch another hero.
Here's what they could improve :
- Better Graphics
- Better Voice lines
- More original heroes (ik ML copied some of LoL's heroes but cmon)
- Stop making stupid ads on ML.
By character design yeah I can agree they need to drop the sexy/cute anime characters and experiment with something else, but gameplay no longer needs improvements, every heros skills in HoK are unique even a simple hero like musashi have something unique on him ( if you don't know he has three different types of enhance basic attack, a double slash if the enemy is full HP, a down slash if the enemy is below 50% HP, and a dash slash if he has full stacks and his ult have the ability to delay an enemies healing effects)

However, when I researched about Angela and Yaria, Angela is days older than Yaria. Yumi from LOL and AYA from AOV are ways younger than these twos.
Nana's revamped ultimate is also from second skill of tank-support hero from HOK.
Revamped Miya's passive seems to come from.Huo Yi.
However, the origin of Huo Yi, Miya and Telanna might be Ashe from (LOL) because she possesses all of their skills.
Miya from first generation and Telanna of AOV are the most similar to Ashe of LOL.
And Ashe came from Drow Ranger.

LOL was created by some developers of Dota. They worked under Riot and produced by Tencent.

So, they made their own mobile game HOK in China only.
And then, Moonton created Mobile Legends which was quite similar to LOL.
So, Riot sued Moonton and it failed.
Tencent sued Moonton again and they succeeded.
Moonton had to paid for it and deleted their first generation game. They launched it as Mobile Legends Bang Bang again.
Moonton is called as copy game because of failing that law suit.
And yes, it really copied a lot from LOL and HOK, some from other games.
However, they are some unique hero that is only innovative in MLBB like Fanny, Old Vexana and Johnson.
But, MLBB doesn't value uniqueness. They care more about making money by drawing more players to the game.
So, they revamped certain unique heroes and skins (like Old Vexana and Lunox Libra)
I do notice that they are good at consistency in developing graphic and marketing skill.
They care more about beauty standard of heroes. That is the huge difference with certain gaming like LOL.
LOL might be professional gaming. But, to be popular, they need to learn from MLBB.
HOK is kinda adjusted version between LOL and MLBB.
AOV, I don't know what they are doing.
Even tho AOV was released as adaptation of HOK. It is kinda looking alike dead game. Even after revamp of heroes, they are so unnatural and cartoonist. Some of the hero poses are exaggerated.
Even they are making same skins as HOK, they cannot meet HOK standard.
Yes, MLBB and HOK are currently the best gamings among 5Vs5 MOBA.
If HOK knows how to adapt in Global market cleverly, they will become biggest game. If not, it is hard to win against MLBB.

I've been playing HOK for 2 weeks and i've already got my favourite skin Lam epic and other 5,6 epics by completing tasks for free. Whereas, i've been playing MLBB for 6 years and i've been deprived of the skins i like and have been scammed over and over in every events. Most of the money spent in mlbb was not worth it. In conclusion, i love mlbb but u gotta be rich to enjoy the skins.

One thing for sure tho is that, Mlbb managed to become a game of its own, the gameplay is different enough from lol to make it "its own game", if hok's marketing team or whoever is in charge going to basically continue down this path of comparing themselves with mlbb, im afraid it wont be good for mlbb. Well hok must be just messing with mlbb because of cinematic lam and cai yan whose mlbb fans said gusion and nana. Furthermore hok came before but it was only in Asia as the first test version of a lol mobile and they even tried to make an agreement with the companies at the time but the idea was rejected so they simply did something more original with the same intention and approval as lol , thus emerging a different lore that is more focused on Chinese folklore. Just after a year, mlbb appeared and had several "similar" heroes who over time had to change so as not to take the example process: Marco Polo and Old Clint.

I'll say it, all their skills effects looks boring and even one of them has nothing but circle shapes. The announcer did sounds so dead than the one in ML did. The game is super fast and not like ML at all, going to 20 minutes or even screwed up to 40 minutes.
Hok has like 3 games (obviously other games too) that they can pick things from like fruits from a bowl. (ml, omnyoji arena, wildrift) i think there success is set in stone already tbh
