Gentoo do have a Desktop profile stage 3 available, it saves literal hours if you're going down that route and is only a 500mb download instead of a 200mb one.
@Spada Instead of just containing the bare minimum it contains the bare minimum plus the files included by the 'desktop' profile in eselect, its still environment agnostic, it just includes some dependencies that all desktop environments require (harfbuzz, freetype, X11 etc etc) as part of the initial extraction saving you the need to pull and compile them yourself.
Hey, I was just wondering what is your cpu? I have an intel i7-4770 and I would like to move over from arch to gentoo but I'm not sure if my cpu would be a very good match with gentoo because of compiling and stuff.
"omg i'ma fall for the gentoo meme!"
> installs bin packages of bloated programs because they take too long to compile normally
🥰
Such is the life of a Gentoo user.

I have an Intel i7-10750H. Compiling still takes a long time!

My ryzen 9 7950x3d takes forever compiling
Very entertaining!
Would there be an Gentoo based Distro that you'd recommend... Redcore/Calculate for example
None whatsoever. Same thing really goes for Arch-based, it's far better to just install the source and learn from there.
@@Denshi Thanks for replying - I was hoping for a 'quick' install means
@Eviscerate Thank you 👍

Need to save this !
Nice video
Do a follow up idk what to do tbh lmao
