Hi Ang. These were all winner recipes. Anything that mom cooked and we all loved growing up has to be good, right? That Sunday Chicken with all that chicken piqued my interest for sure. Have a wonderful week, dear one.
Thanks Cindy! I miss those days enjoying my moms meals. Maybe because it was also nice to have someone cook for me everyday. 😉 I hope you enjoy the recipes, take care!
Wonderful family recipes from your mom, such a treasure.❤️ I grew up in the 60’s and most times your church would put on a luncheon for the family after the funeral. Or many times your neighbors would bring food to your house so the family had cooked food ready. Funeral potatoes was an easy popular dish to make at that time, that is where the name Funeral Potatoes came from. I forgot to mention that I used left over cereal in the bag and crush it to use as a topping for casseroles. I think since Covid people have changed how funerals are handled. Even weddings are done different. Both occasions are so expensive people are using cheaper options. That is why David’s Bridal went out of business after 70 years, opened in early 1950’s. Have a great day Ang.

@@rickyclark4870 we love our boxer girl. She is our 3rd. We had two boys which we loved but unfortunately they died around 7 years. So awful. Missy May our current boxer just turned 7 so were just waiting for the ball to drop. She seems super healthy and so far no signs of anything concerning other than she's attached to my hip these days. lol Thanks for sharing your boxer story!💛
This takes me back. My mom made a version of your frito casserole. 1 can crm mush soup, 1 soup can pace picante sauce, shredded chicken, 1-2cups shredded cheddar cheese mixed and placed over Doritos in a casserole. My brother also adds a jar of queso and it’s extra creamy. I’ll give your moms a try. Sounds yummy 😊
You cracked me up, when you said old times in 70's. I am 74.😂😂😂. My mama never made casseroles.. Guess my daddy didn't like casseroles. No pasta or tomatoe sauces
I’m new here. Your channel is really lovely and relaxing. I’d love for you to just cook that whole cookbook for us. It reminds me of the cookbook I made 20+ years ago. I’d love to redo it now with more, different, more healthy recipes. But keeping the old ones in there. Fun video! ❤️
Nancy my moms cookbook is so special to me. I actually haven't made all the recipes in the book. Maybe a video on the ones I haven't tried and made. That would be fun! Thanks for the suggestion!
@@themenumaid I just shared you with my daughter and she is so ready for me to redo my old cookbook. If we get this going, I’ll thank you for the inspiration. Please, please continue to share your mom’s recipes. Getting “hooked up” with your channel is an unexpected delight. Be well. And thanks for your lovely content. ❤️
I found this recipe in the 80s when we were first married. This is the first time I’ve seen anyone make it. It is so good and still a favorite. I found it in a community cookbook. I like adding a little parm with crumbs on the potatoes.
I just found your channel and I’m enjoying it very much. I like to top my funeral potatoes with crushed cheezits or crushed goldfish crackers with a bit of melted butter. So yummy! Thanks for sharing some of your childhood faves here!
The Hungry Jack casserole is also appealing to me because I love ground beef, BBQ sauce and baked beans. The only thing that's missing from my childhood favorite flavors is fried potatoes so maybe I'll try to make a casserole that includes that as well.
Hungry Jack is the best I hope you enjoy it. My mom would make fried potatoes with Kielbasa sausage and sauerkraut when I was growing up. It was so yummy.
Love all these! I would guess the Hungry Jack name came from the brand of biscuits-I looked them up because I remembered that being the popular brand when I was growing up. The ad image online actually said “vintage” 1978. I graduated from high school that year, so I guess I’m older than dirt and definitely “vintage”. 😂. Thanks so much for sharing these from your precious mom. ❤
Jennifer, that is so funny! I was born in 1978 so I guess I'm vintage too! Thank you for sharing that info and you're definitely not older than dirt. 😄 I hope you enjoy the recipes, take care!
Our family also pronounced Kuchen the same way you do. My Mom's side was German and English. Must have been her British side speaking! I'll give it a whirl, looks good!
These all look delicious!!
I'm so glad! I hope you enjoy them, Kathy!
What a GREAT Mom that you have! I wish I would have done that for my three daughters!! Precious!
This is my 2nd time watching this and I laughed hard about why they call it funeral potato's, but your brain was truly working 😂 so cute
Ha Ha! I know!

OMG, that Sunday chicken would be delicious with cheddar cheese soup and Chili Cheese Fritos. 😯🤯
@@cjs9917 Okay now you're on to something. Yum! Thanks for the idea!
At our church when we have a funeral, the church family always feeds the family after the burial. It’s just a nice thing to do.
That's really special! Thank you for sharing that.

@@rickyclark4870 The funny thing about the drips on the pages is they are so easy to just wipe up but I never have. 😁
