I remember I told you a few years ago when we met in LA that I do Falun Dafa meditation exercise (a Chinese meditation exercise based on Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance), so I believe this experience has helped me to have a calmer mind when creating this type of music, and yes, it is serving its purpose to helping reducing stress! Thank you very much! Most of the time, I have melody and chord at the same time, but I would try to make sure my melodic writing stands out as much as possible, needing to be catchy and easy for people to follow. For my favorite chord transition, actually, I like to modulate from for example, from C to F by flattening the B, or I like the effect of from the "I(dim) first inversion to III (Maj)". Also doing meditation helps, I do Falun Gong (A Chinese meditation exercise, Introduction: ua-cam.com/video/aJ-A6xY47jc/v-deo.html), based on Truthfulness Compassion Tolerance, it helps me to calm down, and sometimes the inspiration would come when you are on a spiritual journey.
