The Milton-Bradley lore is interesting! Those portable Civil War-era items are really rad. Awesome video. Rick & Julia were great guests as well!
I can’t wait for more waterworld lore videos!!! 😩😩🙏🙏🥺🥺
Aw yes! Soon! I'm looking forward to getting back to more lore based videos!
I hope there exists enough Waterworld content to sustain this channel until my death.
Hey, well, I still have a substantial list of video topics to get too! I will keep digging if you keep watching! Haha!
I love the mental image of the Mariner struggling to deal with not one, not two, but up to a dozen Enolas running around on his boat. Add a laugh track and you have the perfect sitcom!
This is a great video! You always have an excellent video editing style that's calm and clear. Looks like a fun game!
Great video and very wholesome content! I was introduced through watching macaw on twitch. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks fun video and I learned a little about the history of board games
Aw man I'm so jealous that you guys got to hang out together and play! I wish I still lived up there!
Jamie if you lived closer, you would have definitely have been the fourth player at that table! :)
Nice! I really miss when board games were more common, Dang ol shame partner.
Hey Sneed! Yeah, it's fascinating to think that even Waterworld got a tie-in board game! Definitely a tradition of a bygone era.
Have you talked about the Waterworld pinball machine? I have one and would be happy to provide photos and talking points!
I have not done a video on the pinball machine yet! I hope to get to it soon! They are a bit rare, as I am sure you know, but I found a bar that has one which is about only a three hour drive from where I live. However, when I started researching the game, I felt really over my head as I don't have any pinball expertise. So I think that your help would be very valuable!
@@TheAtoll Indeed! I have a very nice example. I've kept it in OEM condition to keep it as a time capsule from the era as intended. Just rebuilt the flippers as well. The game has a very deep ruleset which allows you to obtain dirt to trade for prizes throughout the game.
@@theguy3112 Oh man, that sounds like an amazing artifact! I did look a little into the ruleset, and as I said before, felt like I was reading a different language. I think my first question would be: can a novice ever hope to skin the Deez???
One of my favourites from you! I need this game!
Thanks John! I had a great time putting this one together. Glad you enjoyed it!
So cool to see the MAD MAX and WATERWORLD Universe combined :) and to see all the faces, very nice. Hope you guys had fun
Oh we did! Thanks for checking out the video Cedric! Hope your doing well buddy!
Excellent video, as usual! Very thorough look at this game and so well presented. And what a great novelty item
Now I just want to drink some waterworld beers n play the game. I love those old board games they still hold up to this day. Video games are fun but I think kids these days don't know what they're missing out on from all those old board games like this.
Awesome work! I've never played my copy of the game but now I have the itch!
Hey Adam! It's definitely worth busting out on a game night. I hope you enjoy it!
This is so awesome! I just found your channel, and I freaking love it! Waterworld is one of my favorite movies, and one of the few movies i will pretty much collect anything on. I don't have much, just the watch, card collection, the promo theater buttons, and that's pretty much it for right now, but I'm working on it every chance I get
That's great to hear you found the channel and are also a collector of Waterworld! The collecting videos are really fun to make and I am glad there are other people out there that find Waterwold collecting as interesting as I do!
Out of curiosity, can't you theoretically expand the size of the board? You could increase the grid size with a custom mat, and just adapt the compass/atoll placement.
O boy another new atoll video
Thats why they call Hasbro the "Disney" of toys - they've bought out Kenner, Parker Brothers, Milton Bradley...
Love it, looks really unique. (came from Macaw's stream!)
Hey Nikku! Welcome aboard! Glad you enjoyed this look at the board game. Macaw is a treasure!
Awesome, thanks for guiding us through the game. I'll have to keep an eye out for this. Was it hard to track down? Love the Waterworld banner in your house btw!
Hey Batman! Thanks for checking out the video! Ebay (of course, haha) is how I got my copy. They usually run about $40 to $50 for a complete one.
Great seeing a good review of a game you can't find a lot of info on. I just watched the Ulysses Cut. It does help having the mix of a little more violence and colorful swearing of the theatrical version with the character development of the TV version. Another houserule might be to take a couple atoll's out of the game. Did everyone find all 4 resource cards easily enough? Or did one lag behind and relied more on getting to other boats? That board is actually pretty large. The d4 makes sense to make it 'larger'. It's a good thing a game has enough to it that it can be houseruled to tweak it without breaking the game. Some games though just don't have enough to them like Miami Vice. MB, Parker Bros and Kenner had some good games based on movies, TV shows and even arcade games like Zaxxon back in the day. Kenner's Alien is based on Parchessi. The new one plays well. Trey Parker and Matt Stone creators of South Park are big gamers. Interestingly South Park's license is just for reskins of games not an original game.
Thanks for checking out the video! Yeah, I think it would help the game to potentially reduce the amount of Atolls, that's a good suggestion. Also, Glad you were able to check out the Ulysses Cut as well!
Also. I have played it by reducing the amount and placement of Atolls fyi. Game lasted close to an hour
Oh yeah! That's a great solution to the smallness of the game board! I will have to try that next time I pull the game out.
@@TheAtoll due to your channel...I decided to get the game as I saw it for sale recently..I have the figures. Pins trading cards. And other surprises. So thank you for your cool channel. I thought I was the only fan of this film.
Dooood I don't know why but I'm not getting notifications for your uploads lately
I can imagine playing the game with less Atolls would make things feel more "scarce" maybe have enough so only 2 of the 4 players can have enough cards to get to dry land?
For sure! That is another good modification to slow down the game and build a bit more suspense.
Pretty awesome and it'd be a cool thing to have a waterworld style ttrpg like d&d 🦀🦀🦀
Yes! I have not played TT-RPGs before, but at a camping trip with my friends this week, we tried a little bit of informal rpg story tell with a waterworld theme around the campfire, and it was a ton of fun!
@@TheAtoll Hell yeah brother that's the spirit! Nothin like sharing some stories and a can of Smeat around the fire
the artwork is nice, especially the graphic of
the sunken city. But the game overall is weird.
Do you know, where can I download the comic?
Sorry, no, I don't know of any place the comics can be downloaded. Good luck in the search!
I love this one
Artisanal
Haha, now that I am listening to the video back, I think I might have pronounced this word incorrectly! But regardless, I totally took "artisanal" from Macaw's thesaurus!
I did a deathless run on the simpsons waterworld game on my channel if you need any additional footage. You are more than welcome to use it. I found all the items and hidden pages and got the true ending.
Thank you BrockHard for offering your help! I will defiantly give credit to you if I end up using the footage. And by the way, I just watched your run. Very skillful and entertaining work!
When are you going to talk about WaterWorld at Universal Beijing Resort?
I'm not sure, maybe when I go to visit it! Haha, however I don't have any immediate plans to visit China, but I would like to go some day. What would you specifically like to know about WaterWorld in Beijing??
I want this and the dune game
Yeah, I would be really interested to see what that Dune game is like too! The picture of the Dune game in the video is actually one I took while at a toy museum in Vermont.
I think there is a Dune game on Super Nintendo, since the original movies came out decades ago.
Please check out the new waterworldxsimpsons game macaw45 just released on PC.
Thank you for inviting us over to play! We're so glad everyone gets to see how much we all enjoyed the game.
Could have not done it without both of you! Thank you so much for lending your thoughts and company! A very fun time putting this one together!
Do ya'll like live in the same apartment building or something?
@@jonathanwright8025 Haha, completely by chance, we live in the same county of the same state!
