- Vice President Kamala Harris spoke to a panel of journalists at a National Association of Black Journalists event in Philadelphia. Harris addressed the Springfield, Ohio, debunked claims about Haitian immigrants, the apparent assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump and other issues at stake ahead of the November election.

@@truemagic8097 watch whole thing here, I fact check everything and haven't found any lies in her answering, id give a 8 out of 10 for this interview, very informative and carefully thought out, what brings it a bit down is some answers weren't clearly detailed like the limit to the abortion plan, however still works because there are still law limits for protections, still great but you can be the judge for yourself 💙🇺🇸

This isn't a zero sum game, there are optimal uses of resources that will provide the most improvement in general wellbeing and economic productivity, this is econ 101. For you, she is not planning to raise income taxes. She is planning to tax unrealized gains on people with wealth of over 100 millions, which will bring in a lot of revenue. She may also increase the corporate tax rate. Right now amazon pays 0 in federal tax while small businesses which have less means pay much more. She plans on expanding medicare to 55 yr olds, and I assume you will be 55 one day. She also is not planning to implement what is essentially a regressive tax in on imports which could increase spending according to economists by 4,000 per household. I could go on. Or I could stop.
me me me me -- you are fortunate that you do not need the help like many others. I don't need the credits either but I am more than willing to help my fellow citizen get through hard times. You forgot where you came from and the times your grand-parents (or further back) struggled to feed themselves. A little help HELPS. The selfishness in MAGAt land is outrageous.

I mean the people that aren't having issues with housing....are the people that already have homes. We would gladly accept those benefits as well. Alternatively, diverting a portion of the funds allocated for overseas conflicts into our local schools would be welcome. The choices are plentiful. It's interesting that when other groups ask for specific benefits in exchange for their votes, it's seen as strategic, but when we do the same, it’s often suggested that we’re not being supportive of all Americans. This narrative has worn thin, and Black individuals will demonstrate their needs more effectively than mere words can express.

The reason why is that Haitians are well known for having a strong work ethic, and the local population were either not interested in working there, or too messed up on drugs to function. There are lots of interviews online with company owners literally gushing about how wonderful these workers are. That is why the Republican Governor is giving Vance a hard time about his racial slurs. Vance should wise up. So should you.

Haitians are able to be paid less by the company, who makes agreement to government not to hire elsewhere. Meanwhile government stacks these migrants debit cards with 13k food stamps massive amount of cash, they fixed up houses just for their arrival, they drive around in lexus & other 100k cars, it's just a real bizarre situation and it is definitely not helpful to the town at all, they are displacing the citizens of the town.

My husband works residential concrete in Knoxville and surrounding areas. They have not stopped building but nobody can afford these homes. My daughter is 38 and she cant afford a home with 3 boys. As a Nurse, I was single mom and had no problem long as credit was good. Now, because of GREED, the landlords are all jacking up the rent around here just as high or higher rhan a mortgage payment. I dont know what people are supposed to do!!
I hear you on this! But how can a president actually control a free market for housing? If the houses get so high, then people won't buy them and prices will come down.(I see this starting to happen in my area.) As for rentals, the government could step in -- but would that be more local or federal? In the last 7 years houses have risen in value over 150% in my area. I can understand that covid caused a backup and higher costs of materials, but not to that extent. It's really wicked out there for the younger people. People talk about interests -- but to me it's the actual price of the home which is staggering. Interest rates go up and down and one refinances. But the cost of the actual house is a fact that I can't get my head around.
