  • Standard Chartered is used to volatility -- it's in the bank's DNA, according to Bill Winters, CEO of the company since 2015. "For the 160 years that our bank has been around we have had a crisis in one of the 70-80 markets in which we operate. As our tagline says, 'We are here for good' -- both to do good and also that we are here to stay." When he joined the organization five years ago, Winters realized that the company needed to invest in some of the fundamentals and infrastructure to position the company to grow for the future. When he visited The Industrialist's Dilemma class on March 5, 2020, Winters discussed with Lecturer Robert Siegel how Standard Chartered is growing and changing in a world of continued global change, technical disruption and how the bank will compete against larger competitors.
