Great looking San Diego style mantel. I worked for my dad's stair company in North County in the 80s and early 90s. We built nearly identical mantels for every 3rd or 4th project. Although, back then they would be solid oak 75% of the time. They are definitely fun to make.

Mike, I've learned so much from yourself and Richard for DFW crown over the years. In the final stages of my fireplace install with mantle and surround and two story accent wall. The DT sanding disc is a game changer for joints. Though I am not a pro, I wanted to leave you my pro tip. When filling nail holes, get a medicine syringe, the kind you'd give ibuprofen to the Shop Apprintcess. Fill it up with nail filler, I use famowood. It makes filling quick, precise, easy and really cuts down on the sanding and mess and uses less product. Thanks again for all the great content over the years.

The MIGHTY BISCUIT has shown it's fabulous face once again! Thanks to your love for this method of joinery, I have dusted off my old biscuit joiner and have incorporated it in my last few projects 💪. Keep em coming Mike!

Mike, nice work. Nice to see the disc on the job, I find I use mine so much I am considering keeping my current table saw around so I can leave the disc on it. Once in my new shop there is a new table saw in my future.

Thank you. If you have the space, a second saw would be cool.
