Reborn box opening. Im posting this to warn people about the dangers of ebay

- The most horrifying thing happened today. Hundreds of dollars on the line and a severely damaged and poorly done doll. I cannot stop crying.
Oh Ashley ... I felt sick as I was watching this. It was so horrible seeing how happy and excited you were, knowing what was going to come next. I don't know enough about the reborning process or how artists work to know what was done wrong, but I can see that she wasn't weighted sufficiently. And as for the packaging. Well, I am housebound because of disabilities and I do almost all my shopping online, so I am very familiar with what good packaging looks like, and I think that the box that was used to ship her in was the wrong shape and size. She should have been in a rectangular box that was not as deep, but longer, so that there was less room for her to move around inside, but that she could have been laid in flat. This would have minimised the chances of her getting damaged during shipping (if that is what happened, but as I say, I am not familiar with the reborning process and it could be that the way her head was attached to her body was faulty which was what caused that tear, and not shipping). Also, there was not enough wadding in the box to stop her moving around inside it. She should have had packing beans and bubble wrap in addition to all the packages and tissue paper, as the box was still too large. Was there anything on the outside warning that it was fragile? I didn't see any. It also looks to me as if her legs are too large for her body, so possibly not the ones that came with that sculpt? She didn't look to be in proportion to me. I am sorry if these comments are just making things worse for you and aren't helpful - that's not my intention at all. I would hate for it to just add to your distress to hear all this - but I watch a lot of box openings in anticipation of what my own will be like when (if!) my baby finally arrives, and so having seen lots and lots of other people's reactions to their babies, I am just saying really the things that spring to mind. But I am sure none of this helps the heartache you are going through right now. I just want you to know I am here for you in whatever way I can be, and that I am thinking of you. I hope your hubby is giving you lots of love and hugs right now and taking very good care of you. You deserve it - you are so sweet and lovely. I wish I could just turn back time and make this all work out the way it should have done for you. It is so, so unfair. So cruel. Ruby's Cosy Corner I really appreciate you tkaing the time to write these kind words of comfort. Its so sad and distressing when you spend hundreds of dollars and this happens. Im not upset with the weighting... i can fix that. I didnt show the actual damage in this clip to its full extent. It was bad and I did decide to keep her because dealing with the lady who reborn her was so disturbing to me that I didnt want to send the doll back and have to wait and trust that she would refund me. My friend who reborns gave me some tips to help mend her so i am feeling a bit better now. I paid A LOT to have her shipped and she should of been packed properly and nothing was written about being fragile or his side up on the box

I am sure with your own reborning skills and the help of one of the other lovely reborn mamas who is part of this sweet little community like Cass, who are also artists as well as mamas, you will be able to fix her. The sculpt you've chosen is really rare, isn't it, I had a look at it online after you shared with us in your previous video which one it was that your toddler was going to be, and when I saw how cute she was, I knew right away why you had chosen her! But there were hardly any artists offering her and I couldn't see anyone else on Ebay who had her for sale. So another reason for wanting her to stay with you! It is not eBay that is a "danger" ~ it is both the buyers and sellers on that platform that can be troublesome.

The legs are waaaaaay to big for body. That’s messed up. When you pay that much money for a baby they should be good Quality and packaged right. This made me want to vomit. This isn’t right or fair. I am soooooo sorry this happened to you as I know you were soooo excited to finally have her. I wish you well and there’s always someone who could fix her for you. Basically you’re the one who reborned her. You birthed her into life by fixing her. I wouldn’t send her back either because I’d be afraid she’d keep the doll and not give me a refund and then it would be your word against hers. This WILL work out and then you and your little munchkin can bond more over the fact that you helped reborn her. I wish you the best of luck and hang in there it’ll get better and again I’m soooo sorry this happened to you.

sb23 byrne Well the seller tried to use the excuse that the postal setvice was too rough.... well the box is perfect condition so i think the doll was either damaged before shipping or was damaged because the seller crammed the doll and had the doll folded weird in the box. The neck wasnt supported with bubble wrap and probably took a beating moving around as the box was tossed around in shipping. A wonderful artist reached out to me and after some talking was able to send me parts to fix her. The seller would take no responsibility
sb23 byrne if you have a regular reborn where the head is attached to the body you can expect a lot less damage but this particular doll her head is attached to what's called a neck plate and the only thing holding that neck plate and place is thin little strings so she really should've packed bubble wrap and taken an extra precaution when shipping this type of doll with this type of head and not just cramming it into

Im a private reborn artist i only make reborns for my own collection PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE never ever order from ebay ive been in the reborn community for about 7 years since 2012 please please always search thoroughly especially making purchases on ebay ive seen thousands of ebay horror stories with reborns arriving damaged and hundreds or even thousands lost especially for full body silicones im so sorry you went through this ive never ever been scammed at this level as an artist im so sad to see this happening my advice is do your research to see what you like and find a reputable artist who you can contact through the entire reborning process or adoption ect because of stuff and videos and stories like this i reborn for my private collection i trust no one especially on ebay my prayers go out to you sweety and hope you got refunded back your money go through ebay and settle a debute to get your money back i cry for you once again im so sorry sweety

This is why I triple check reviews and see their work on UA-cam before I even think of buying.
Reviews are a dime a dozen..unfortunately. Unscrupulous ...as some get their friends..and relatives to give good reviews..or they yup a bunch of unrelated reviews..some for the right product..others not.

Hello, I am so sorry this happened to you, Ebay is not dangers only certain people that sale there are , I've been selling on ebay with 100% positive feedback for over 20 years , if you receive something you don't like please send ebay photos and also paypal they will resolve it for you, I know you are upset but making videos that say ebay is no good ruim other people's business on ebay , people should not think all sellers are bad on ebay because that's NOT true, you will find bad sellers anywhere you shop online etc, please make sure you also tell people that NOT all sellers are crooks, ebay is my only source of income if people stop buying on ebay because they see videos like yours it will be hard for good sellers on ebay to make a living , by the way if you decide to keep her and fix the baby I do have a one piece you were looking for her size for sale on ebay. I hope you will resolve this situation, and if you want someone you can trust in the doll business you can contact this lady on Cuddly Angels Nursery she is in business since 2005 and make lovely toddlers I have several of them. hope you smile again.
Did you ever get her fixed? I’m an artist and it doesn’t look like that was from shipping, but it’s possible because it’s the box she used. It wasn’t the right size. Let me know what happened.

could you tract the package? have her sign for it? also it cost me $180 to make a toddler (if I am careful) that is with hair and rooting etc. (bountiful baby kits only),where was she damaged? she looked pretty good at the legs aside from being under weighted/not weighted properly. I am SO sorry this happened. contact ebay...I would despute the charge with your bank and send the doll back
MommyCassReborns Her vinyl is torn on her neck plate in three spots. Her head is dangling from a string, her nails are not tipped correctly. I will email you close up photos

Heather Sanford The seller would not refund. She said she would fix the issue or make a new one but her work was so terrible that i would not trust her. Plus the wait would of been another 4-6 months

Babyloveheart Smith it has a stuffed body, I do not consider stuffed dolls reborn dolls because reborn dolls have lifelike bodies, I mean, real looking bodies, not just real looking faces and limbs.
Francesca F. You are mistaken silicone and reborn. Reborns have stuffed bodies and vinyl limbs and head. Silicones have life like bodies

@@sarahest1 Sarah Y @Babyloveheart Smith is right. Reborn dolls have vinyl limbs that have many layers of paint, and put together on a soft, stuffed, and weighted body. Some reborns come with belly plates or full vinyl torsos, but they all have the cloth bodies. Full-bodied silicone is usually poured in one or two pieces (depending on how the head is attached), and can be different numbered silicone/soft feel to them and are painted by special silicone artists. Two UA-cam channels that can be checked out to see both reborns and silicone dolls is Courts Little Lambs Reborn Nursery and nlovewithreborns2011.

Don’t TOTALLY go a different route before buying a reborn from eBay! I always make sure that the seller has 100% feedback from numerous people. I have one reborn from eBay that I adopted in March, and now I have my first cuddle baby on the way :) the cuddle baby is going to come with a big box opening!
That's why I order from my own personal silicone actually seller she actually has really good content and they're like a close to the exact baby that is shown in the picture you guys should go check her out her name is????? Sorry but I actually won't be able to be showing her name because I want her to be my only reborn kit seller she only sells kids but I'm sorry but she's like a good kit seller and stuff and I like the kits that she sells for only like 30 to 70 to 25 to 35 to $9 it's like really cheap and I love love kits she gives to me they're amazing that's why I also never order from eBay because I've only ordered twice from eBay but just because there were like pikmi pop and like a p detective Pikachu plush and yeah so the new movie just came out and I watch it without plush on my shoulder it was weird but Pikachu why does that girl have a Pikachu plush on a freaking shoulder like starting the movie or some crap and I was like I came prepared though so I just watched the movie with that thing with Pikachu keep on falling off over and over again for like 50 times put it on my shoulder and walked out of there and they're like what the heck
