      Sure was, I’m in the market for a new pair of headphones but I am under the impression that on the go I need a pair of good wireless headphones and for at home I’ll have to get a different pair and they must be wired and plugged into a DAC so a totally different set up. For what I’m looking for.

    I have had the PX8’s for a couple of weeks. I wasnt that bothered by the initial comments re quality of materials etc (which is great), however, the result (of using these material’s) is that the PX8’s are supremely comfortable (vs my AirPodsMax and my old B&W P9’s). This was a big selling point for me. I initially thought the sound was very good …. But I just did my own comparison with the AirPods Max vs the PX8’s using Tidal, iphone, wireless (Bluetooth) using a couple of the tracks used on this video I.e. Hideaway / Jacob Collier and Vibin’ Out / FKJ … wow wow wow. The sound is incredible, by comparison, the AirPodsMax using the same phone etc, is that the sound is ‘muddy’. So absolutely no buyers remorse! Admittedly I dont have the equivalent Sony’s or Sennhaussers (sp) … but I am very very happy with my purchase.

    I mean, what’s in a name?
    Does the circuitry justify the elevated price compared to other ‘’high end’’ brands..?
    I own their P5 wired head set and have to say the sound of B&W are incredible for jazz, hip hop and reggae music.
    Genres which usually get overlooked and put into the same eq basket which is why Beats came along and filled a cheap market just as Bose did with marketing and anc which they still do better than most…
    I still use wired B&W headphones ( P7 which i use with the cable ) and would like to update my listening experience, but I wonder if the cost justifies going wireless…

      We are a dealer, but one of the only dealers we know who does try to create hundreds of product overviews and have a sense of objectivity. We also have produced tons of how to videos that have nothing to do with selling any product that cost us substantially for each one to create. We get over 25 requests every day from brands to carry or review their products and we turn 99.9% of them down as they just are not that great. And we state in the video we are a dealer and you can help us be able to continue to create content by supporting our business. Even within the brands we carry, we will get requests to produce a video from the brand and if our team thinks that product is just so so, and it is many times, we will politely decline. This is a deep dive folks, but people who are into headphones will understand 😂, I'm some what a wireless headphone addict, ( it's a wireless world now) I have numerous wireless headphones, my journey started with the B&W P7 Wireless, I still have them, PSB M4U8 was next, they sound pretty good with it's Roomfeel Eq sound they have a user replaceable battery which is the only one I know is available, however the build quality is fair at best and they are super bulky ( I use the PSB for exercise now) from there 😂 the Nuraphone, yeah it's was a different experience, the sound is decent but for long term usage they are very uncomfortable, with the in-ear portion of its design, my Amiron wireless, by Beyerdynamic is the most comfortable, and it sounds super natural, can be used in USB mode, but lacks a bit of life, bass, my second most recent purchase is the Focal Bathys, they are fantastic sounding, quite airy for a wireless headphone and very detailed ,can be used in USB DAC mode, have a super premium build quality, and the sound almost matches it's build only let down again by lack of music expression, dynamics in tracks, that hit that you are expecting that doesn't come, they are still my favorite overall over the Amiron, that may change with my recent purchase of these B&W PX8 😂 so it's full circle for me, I'm hoping these are more of a upgrade to the B&W P7 Wireless in it's around quality which to be honest is still very good, I haven't used a recent B&W wireless headphone, since the PX, I sold them soon after getting them, as I totally didn't like the way the way B&W voiced the PX, compared to the P7 Wireless, I'm very much looking forward to testing these PX8 along side the Focal Bathys, and the Amiron Wireless 👌

      @@PerfectionHunter They sound pretty fantastic, they are voiced as you would expect totally different to the Focals, and compared to the Focal Bathys, the PX8 I would say have a more expressive, dynamic, sound, especially with tracks with bass, and you expect that bass hit, so I think for a lot of folks these PX8s will be everything they want in a premium wireless headphone, for myself though I prefer the openness, more expansive more like a open back like reference sound the Focal Bathys produce, I'm the type of folk though that will never have ONE headphone, so I'll be keeping them 👍🏼

    It may sound a little silly but I think that if a brand wants you to wear their logo they should pay you if not the logo should be as discreet as possible. These earphones are not cheap but they are cheapened by the unimaginative way the brand have applied their name to the earphones.

    • @AudioAdvice
      @AudioAdvice  Рік тому

      Fair point. In this particular case, the Bowers and Wilkins logo is a prestigious logo that is like putting a Ferrari symbol on the front of your car. So most people see their logo as a luxury add to the speakers (whereas other brands without their prestige would have the opposite effect).

    • @ragetobe
      @ragetobe Рік тому

      @@AudioAdvice I get what you are saying but I just don't see it as that prestigious and if they want to display their name it should look better than it does. It looks like they have printed it out on one of those cheap kitchen sticker machines and just pasted it on the earphones. It looks like an afterthought and it really shouldn't. Believe me, the only reason I am not buying these earphones is because of that brand name, I am paying for the earphones, not their branding. If they want me to advertise they should give me the option to get paid for it. The product should speak for itself without the need for an unthoughtfully placed brand name.

    Well I’m going to put a Spanner in the works as I finally got to hear the PX8 yesterday and if I’m going to be blunt (which I am) I’ve got IEM’s that Sound better than the PX8🤔
    Bold statement I know but I know my ears and Collect Headphones and IEM’s as well as having a high regard for B&W being in the UK myself.I also own the Original P7 Wireless,PX Wireless and PX7 with ironically the Original P7 Wireless still Sounding the Best by far of the 3.
    I nearly pulled the trigger on the PX7S2 but heard about the PX8 imminent release.Good thing a Friend bought them before me bringing them along on a visit for me to audition with his PX7S2
    Either way all told the Sound difference between the S2 and the PX8 I found negligible but to Sound £200GBP better then No Not a Chance (that’s another Decent pair of Cans🎧 difference in price)🙈
    Forgetting Bluetooth for a second and if I’m wanting to hear great sound then I will stick to my Wired Sennheiser HD600 through my Tube amp
    Or My Audeze LCD2C if I want chilled Warm sound with a Jack Daniels
    But get me on the move and Then I will stick to my
    7Hz Timeless Planar IEM’s and not let the wire bother me😜

    Am I right that aptx adaptive can only stream Bluetooth audio at 24bit/48khz? If so isn’t using a hi res streaming service like Tidal or Qobuz overkill? Surely these won’t do the streaming services justice where they stream at 24bit and up to 192khz? I’m confused why B&W push the streaming services so much. Maybe you can hear 24bit/192khz audio if you use them wired?

      The P9 Signature was extremely good. It’s really not an apples to apples comparison. If you only want to listen wired at home and can find a pair of PX9 for a reasonable price they would be the best. But they are not wireless and have no noise canceling.

    IMPORTANT - READ BEFORE YOU BUY THE PX8: In looking at both the Bowers & Wilkins PX8 and the Focal Bathys I had decided to purchase the PX8 *HOWEVER* In contacting B&W I found out the BATTERY inside the headphone is NOT REPLACEABLE. Bowers and Wilkins Service told me the battery should last about 3 years (just past warranty) and after it goes bad you throw the headphones out and buy their newest model (this is CRAZY). In contrast Focal will service the battery in the Bathys for $200 parts and labor which is expensive but saves your investment.
