My computer crashed on me the other day. So my uploads might be jacked up this month. Just be patient with me I lost everything 😞 luckily I had this video already uploaded and ready to go.
Hit the like for me I need the algorithm love ❤️
Don’t forget to drink water…
What movie should I do next? #bingers
Oh I’m so sorry that must have been hard I will pray for you 👍🏻
❤️
Sorry to hear. Take your time. Appreciate you
Billy I’m looking and smelling great about to be doing much better now that you’re blessing my screen😋😁
please The Perks of being a Wallflower #bingers
Haymitch acts like he does bc year after year since he was a teenager he is in charge of training two kids who have all been killed no matter what he taught them. I’m sure that’ll have some pretty awful affects on your mental health not to mention remembering all the kids you killed yourself when you were literally just trying to survive.
Yeah and he was way drunker in the books
@@samuelbrown4764 what!!! That's so sad. Did that happened to every winners of the games? Or why did Snow killed all his family?
@@menjivarjass if I remember correctly his family was killed bc of the way he won the games. He never physically killed anyone himself he found out about the force field surrounding the arena and used it to get his last opponent killed therefore outsmarting Snow. And Snow hates to be outsmarted so he killed haymitch’s girlfriend and family in retaliation
@@menjivarjass it had to do with the way he won his hunger games. Basically, he used a feature of the arena that wasn't meant to be a weapon as a weapon, which apparently made the Capitol look stupid. They used him as an example to show future victors what happens if you don't play the game on their terms.
@@menjivarjass okay sike I read the wiki he actually killed some people during the games but using the force field to outsmart his last competitor to win is correct
When Katniss gets chosen, clapping would've meant supporting the Capital's system. Instead, they throw up those hand signs, which are a district 12 sign of respect. They mourn her sacrifice rather than being proud of it.
Yeah and I respect it
Take a sip of water every time Billy calls Katniss "Catalina" , Peeta "David" and Rue "Tatiana" 😂😂😂
I accept this challenge
I somehow ended up drunk
Ik you said water but I have a vodka lemonade cocktail and I played this now you can call me Barry Benson bc I'm buzzin 😵💫
@@juand3p your water must've been vodka.
🤣🤣🤣 he just 💯 doesn't care...but he does...but he doesn't...🤣🤣
lmao billy's confidence in his wrongness about peeta is hilarious
he was never a phony, he played the capitol and played the careers, infiltrated them to help katniss because he loves her, he never betrayed her at all
also it wasn't a weird way of showing it... he literally saved her and her family's life which is the most important thing to her and his mom beat him for it
Yes but the first time reading the book or watching the film when you see Peeta hanging around with the careers is such a boomer anyways. We don't know all the backstory yet. For me Peeta starts growing in book 2.
@@chipacita90 yeah he’s wrong about Peeta
Can’t even lie when I first watched the movies I thought he was a phony too throughout the whole thing😭 even in the beginning of the 2nd movie I didn’t know how to feel abt him
Technically, that still makes him a phony, just to a different set of people than Billy was thinking, but yeah he was still wrong about that lol
he’s kinda right in a way, since that’s how Katniss saw Peeta for pretty much the whole of this movie/book
Peeta (David) infiltrated the enemy group to lead them away from Katniss (Catalina). When Katniss gets stung and starts hallucinating Peeta saves her by urging her to run away. That’s why Peeta is injured when Katniss finds him, the enemy group was angry at him for letting Katniss get away so they attacked him.
It’s actually Katniss who pretends to have feelings for Peeta because the people watching the games enjoy the romance, which equals more sponsors. However, she does actually start to warm up to him.
Billy with the names 🤣!
Nah david still a phony
The fact that you put in the fake names he addressed them as 😂 is hilarious
@@ImChazo nah man Peeta / David was good.

as a person who was ruthlessly obsessed with the hunger games for the entirety of my preteen and teenage years, it tore my hunger games soul up listening to you call them by the wrong names lmfao
Billy changing everyone's name lol
Peeta ->Peter -> Dave ->David
Katniss -> Catalina ->*realizes name ->back to Catalina ->back to Katniss
Rue -> baby Tatiana
😂
^This totally had me^ 🤣
They have joined the ranks with Olaf-Olive lol
I love how he’s out for Peeta right from the start and every time it shows him in a caring/ timid light before the games Billy is immediately sus 😂 when he’s genuinely being supportive. Love the reaction this is truly one of my favourite series of all time! 🥰
Also in the books the mutts were the dead tributes turned into these mutt things it would’ve made for a much more shocking scene that would’ve meant a lot more
Katniss who? Peeta who? Rue who?
Sis I only know Catalina, David, and Baby Tatiana 💅🏽
Honestly I like Billy’s names better.
The response to baby Tatiana being killed was the same we all had reading the book and seeing the movie!! For real! I’m dying!
Her dad died in a mine explosion when she was younger and she despises her mom because she went into a terrible depression and basically let katniss and prim starve. That's why she hunts. And she feels indebted to Peeta because he burned bread for her on purpose so he could throw it out to her.
Yes, I read the books and highly recommend them. The author who wrote them worked on the movies too, but she understands the art of adapting for film and what kinds of changes need to be made to work. The books are Young Adult novels (so, aimed at the 12-18 set) but they don't read like Kiddie books. Good stuff. I do wish there was a little more explanation in the movies though.
Katniss's dad was a miner, and he died in a mine cave-in, as did Gale's dad, which is one of the reasons they are so poor. No one clapped when Katniss volunteered because District 12 is one of the poorest districts in the country and their kids are most often killed in the Games since, like the kids from District 11, they tend to be underfed and not well trained to survive in the Games. They don't view the Games as a chance for glory, but rather much more like an execution. It is sheer LUCK that Katniss ends up in these Games, held in a forest setting that is familiar to her (the Games change every year; sometimes it's a desert, sometimes snowy mountains, etc) and that she has been *ILLEGALLY* hunting outside of her District--something she has to do to keep her family fed since her mom sort of shut down after Katniss's dad was killed. Katniss and her family were literally starving when Peeta burnt the bread that he ended up tossing to her. The book is better able to explain that the bread loaves he gave her when she was 14 or so kept her family alive for a few more days while she figured out how to get outside the District and trap/hunt small animals for meat. You get a much better understanding of just how desperate things are for the Everdeens in the books and a better understanding for how and why Katniss became such a survivor at such a young age.
The books are so infinitely better than the movies
Billy not trusting Peeta and calling him David is freaking gold 😂😂😂
Billy using the wrong fingers to do the sign made me laugh so hard 🤣
Wait… what??? I wasn’t doing it right? 😭
@@BillyBinges its the middle three fingers and its used to show respect. That's why everyone did it when Katniss volunteered for her sister in the reaping.
@@BillyBinges just hold up the number 3 babe 😂 ✌🏾 < these fingers plus the middle finger
It's fine, he signed "OK" which is.. uhm good enough? 😂
Sometimes I really forget how in the books they make the wolves at the end look like all the dead tributes and how they attack Cato and he gets basically eaten alive and torn to shreds for hours until Katniss shoots him in the head. Like Suzanne really had us reading that in sixth grade. No wonder we’re all so messed up lol.
I had literal nightmares about Cato’s death in elementary school
I wrote a paper in a college writing class about how our obsession with reality television is bringing us closer to the books becoming reality, I got an A.
Billy giving the finger In the tree is killing me
Katniss throwing a beautiful burial for Rue always gets me 🥺
I think this is one of the book adaptations that was done well, I've finished reading the whole series in 24 hours and while of course it's better because it's much more detailed, the movie was still enjoyable.
It might be a spoiler not sure
...but I liked that the books actually showed what all of this did to the hero's mental health.
I'm sad that the mutant dogs meaning is lost because it's only explained in the books. That gutted me when I read that they were animated corpses, and they were supposed to look more like werewolves, only recognizable by the eyes.
I disagree. I saw the first movie before I read the books, and I had absolutely no idea what was going on
@@jethro4453 I've read the books between 2 movies, I understood pretty well even before reading but it's different for everyone 😊
Book 3 should've been titled: Katniss and Peeta: Losing Their Sh!t 😭 It was boring but also raw to read because the PTSD was so realistic. Nobody was mentally okay by the end and that's really what a civil war does to people.
I laughed so hard when the little shot of The Neverending Story dragon popped up. 🤣
Falkor.😄
Sir that live action baboon is a Hemsworth and his god-like beauty shall be respected 🤣🤣🤣
No one is okay with Rue's death. It gets me every time I watch this and I've watched this movie many times.
Especially in her home district district 11 which is important because it grows all the fruits and vegetables for the nation
The way you were so wrong about Peeta/“David.” 😭 By the end nobody could reasonably argue that he was a “phony,” or even “misunderstood.” Like everyone else in these games, he did what he had to do to survive, and the fact that he yelled for Katniss to run after the tracker jacket attack on the Careers is literal proof that he was trying to protect her from them. Hence how he ended up with a cut to his leg while she got away; I may be biased cause I read the books. But everyone felt this way about him cause they were reading from Katniss’ point of view, only we’re able to admit when we’re wrong about him cause we’ve been shown the whole story. The whole point was that she wouldn’t BE likable if she didn’t get on board with the romanticized showmance they were supporting. That’s why it was for real for him but just a strategy to survive for her
I saw the first movie before reading the books and I can assure you that it is understood that Peeta was trying to help Katniss, But I understand that sometimes people don't show the same attention to those things.
Tbh when I first saw the movie (never read the books) I also thought Peeta was full of shit and just weak and while I bought that he was into her he felt like leech desperately clinging to her and trying to be likeable. Maybe the book Peeta is different but in the movies he just makes me angry and despise him. Starting from his constant "I am making a puppy face, don't hit me" expression and ending at his "I am doing it for you because I am so worthless und useless but I still want you to pick me over your awesome boyfriend anyway" attitude =_= Idk..he's just annoying to me in the movies despite his good nature.
@@jos-josradvanji6203 literally when did peeta do or say any of that? he actually told katniss in catching fire to choose her family and gale when he gave her the locket with their pictures in it. he proved he was selfless in his love for katniss time and time again. then he got brainwashed and had to rebuild his entire life. i think your hatred for him is very unjustified even if i only take the movies into account.
@@thehannahroboto It was mainly the first movie. He just came off as fake and like this whimp that has a crush on her but can't do anything by himself. I also thought the whole time that if his life got threatened he'd raid her out in an instant due to how he came off. And I didn't like the way he immediately went for all the romance stuff even though he knew she has a boyfriend. Maybe it just came off wrong but it was uncomfortable to watch them together. He seemed like the dude that would abuse their horrible situation, say they need to act like a couple to survive and then force her into an actual relationship by telling her something like.. "if the crowd sees you with a different guy they might be displeased and get your family killed" so she can't go back to her actual guy. (I know this didn't end up happening but those were the vibes he gave me which is why he wasn't sympathetic to me.
@@jos-josradvanji6203 what in the actual hell did I just read 😂 were you tripping on acid while watching the movie? Gale was never Katniss’ boyfriend, they were just friends even though Gale obviously liked Katniss. Bro the level of misunderstanding the whole story in your comment is astounding
26:27 yes, DAVID is so misunderstood - by you 🤣 As a #teamPeeta member it hurts me. But its also hilarious to watch xD All he did he was caring and smart. He made a deal with the bad guys, but only to find her quicker, to be sure they dont kill her. And then he helped her as much as he could. He did loved her. Remember how excited she was for the little piece of bread at the beggining? How valuable the bread is? And he purposely burned the bread, got beaten by his mother, only to help Katniss and to toss her two breads for free, so she and her family wouldnt starve :(
Books > movies, you get to know about a lot of things. eg the three fingers - its a funeral rite, they're basically just going 'you dead but we respect you'
It depends on the person. I love both of them really. The books do give you a background of everything but I love the visuals of the movies and the music, it just pours more emotions into me. I think people should read the books and watch the movies. But once you watch the movies after reading the books, you WILL sob at the end of mockingjay part 2.
I loved them both. The books is better, usually is better than film adaptations. My problem with films is it should never leave the viewer confused or feeling like they are missing something. The film should always be made assuming that the viewer doesn’t already know the story.
I mean i get both of that but also it kinda felt like the books went harder in their criticism and that everything was more nuanced. They felt like actual traumatised teenagers in the books. The later films mess this up a lil imo, especially with the Katniss-Finnick dynamic.
If you decide to keep watching these, please continue to call them David and Catalina I am living for it
I just knew Rue would capture your heart and then you would be DESTROYED twice over. The power of cuteness combined with the power of being done wrong.
Billy where do you get your shirts from? A lot of them make me feel so nostalgic.
The racism against Rue (baby Tatiana) was so crazy when this came out. And what made it even dumber is that her character in the book was black.
That part. It was so ignorant.
The three finger up symbol you see when katniss is presented as tribute means respect in funeral terms
He is out here calling rue baby tatiana 😂😂😂😂😂
Suzanne Collins actually said she based Katniss on Thesis from Greek mythology defeating the Minotaur

The fence says high voltage but shes able to go right through because in the books it says that District 12 (Where Katniss is from) only gets electricity for about an hour a day, if any at all
Fun fact:I’m the books they describe everything from Katniss’ perspective so at first Peeta was the villain and then he turned into a good guy who genuinely loved Katniss

Cato’s death is more gruesome in the book because instead of the mutt things being regular wolves they were actually the bodies of the dead tributes made into mutts
The second one is my favorite, I can't waitttttttt. This is my fave book series.
I think the raw emotions when Rue AKA Baby Tatiana was pure and genuine
You kept calling her Catalina and I was like..am I tripping?? u forgetting names hella quick is one of the funniest things😂😂
Me: has read this book and seen this movie and knows all the correct names of the characters
Also me: BABY TATIANA NOOOOOOO
The books are so much better than the films. Can't think of any adaptations off the top of my head that are better than books. I remember downloading this as I was on the final chapter of the book (shout out to limewire) and thinking how awful it was when I watched it. There are so many things left out that I didn't understand how anyone could get the full picture. The books were from Katniss' pov, which I felt made it much more digestible and understandable. All of that said, last year I listened to the audiobooks and realized that the books aren't as great a I remembered, haha.
the only one i can think of is fifty shades of grey.
The Forest Gump movie is better than the book. In my opinion.
I haven't read either of those, so I can't give any valid opinion on them. Horror, fantasy and Sci-fi are my go to genres in both books and films. Romance and feel good are my 2 least favorite. I avoid both avidly. 😅
In my opinion the movie Nerve is better than the book.
The IT adaptations are better than the book because the adaptations take out that weird child *rgy the books have.
The books are definitely better tbh, the movies and the whole press around it felt like it was made by the Capital. Like they REALLY watered that shit down, the poverty, oppression, trauma, the violence, etc. I hope someday they do a rated R remake (unlikely) because that's really the only way you could make a faithful adaptation.
Even in the books themselves, compare the original trilogy to the recent prequel: Ballad is much more grim and shocking in some places than the original trilogy, you can get away with more adult topics in YA now. The cannibalism stuff in the newest book especially stood out. IDK if they would've let Collins go there back in 2008 lol. I think it's to the benefit of the story honestly, I'd love to see a faithful adaptation of the prequel, I think they're in talks to make one too.
Talk to HBO, they're not afraid to do graphic, fucked up shit.
Books are amazing Billy, also check out Winter's Bone, JLaw's performance in Winter's Bone is what caught the eye of the Hunger Games production.
Billy, you been keeping me better hydrated ever since I started watching his reaction videos! But I'm so glad to see you're finally reacting to Hunger Games! It's a wild ride! Long Live Catalina, David and Baby Tatiana 🤣
As a really passionate Hunger games fan, I had all the books, two Mockingjay pins, the special limited edition magazine with the three posters inside... Billy gets a pass for not knowing anything about the series the commentary is too funny. Taking a sip every time he gets a name wrong, haven't felt this hydrated in weeks. Also, I wouldn't survive the games I'm too skinny and have no survival skills. Billy if you read this comment I think you'd enjoy the hunger games generator. You can put whoever you want in the 12 districts and it'll generate how the game would go.
Billy: "You go hydrate!"
Me: "If you drink too much water you can die and/or become intoxicated."
Billy: "Yes, but you don't drink enough water as is!"
Me: "...did...are you a part of the CIA? How you calling me out when you don't know me?!?...even if it is true, How Dare you! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💕"
Him mentioning how young you have to participate in the hunger game but then assumes Katniss’ dad died in the hunger game 🤣
Years ago when I read the books the capital used to seem so dystopian and disgusted me...now we see it all the time with influencer culture. The Met Gala makes me think of the capital too.
I laughed so hard my sides hurt about this name situation..my sides hurt so bad..the chat kept making it worse because some people were literally innocently confused.. like who is David? Like they missed a character in the movie when they saw it. 💀💀
now that he watched hunger games, he should now watch maze runner. PLEASEEEEEEE
The way he's SO WRONG about Peeta being a bad guy! Lol Peeta and Prim are the only "pure" characters in the books who get ROYALLY screwed for their goodness. (Maybe Finnick counts too.) lol For anyone confused, Peeta's been in love with Katniss since they were kids and, when Katniss' dad died and they were starving, Peeta burned some bread and threw it to her (Katniss was going through their garbage for food) after getting beaten by his mom for "wasting" it. Katniss felt she owed him because, if he hadn't done that, she and Prim would have died from starvation. Peeta is one of the solid good guys in the whole franchise and is willing to sacrifice himself for Katniss; he was only with the enemy group in an attempt to help Katniss should they find her first. He ain't fake by any means and is one of my favorite characters. I WEPT in Catching Fire/Mockingjay after what was done to him.
Billy completely misreading Peeta. 🤦🏻♀️
it's frustrating right ?!
This is one of the most loyal adaptations (the author wrote the screenplay), but the books have a lot more of the back story and texture of it. Since they're in Katniss's point of view, you can get around her stoicism to know what she's thinking.
I like the books a lot personally. The commentary on media and politics and violence is actually pretty thoughtful for a YA series.
The one thing the movies did really badly was the memory of the bread scene, which was Katniss's central memory--they were both supposed to be 12, and Katniss was starving, and Peeta took a beating from his mother so that he could sneak that bread out to her, and it gave her enough hope to figure out how she was going to provide for the family.
Billy shouting and all that "See I told you he was a phoney. I knew it. I saw it"
Me after 3 books and 4 movies knowing hes wrong abt everything: You saw nothing young padawan, sit down and drink some water. And his name is Peeta, like pita bread 🙈🙉🙊

The one guy, Thresh, helped Katniss because Rue was from his district! In the book he doesn’t say her name, he says, “For the little girl!”
I would die before the game even started. That's how little skill I have. Love that you don't know anyone's names. Rue's (aka baby Tatiana) death is so sad. When District 11 grieved together...oh, man. I still cry every time. This series is actually a great commentary of social class and injustice. I never paid attention to the romance aspect of Hunger Games before cuz it was the least interesting bit for me. It's been a while but now that I think about it, the Peeta romance is so forced and bull in the beginning. I read the first book once a long time ago. I'm gonna need to reread it and the rest of the series soon. Hopefully it's better on paper.
Every time he called Peta, David, I am like "Who is he talking about? Oh right..."
Books and movies: Katniss, Peeta and Rue
People mistaking their names: Kate, Peter and Rita.
Billy: Catalina, David and Tatiana.
seeing that you keep calling David a phony I really really want to see your reaction to him in the third movie, it gets wild
Lol, Peter/David and Catalina... A lot of people do confuse Peeta's name for Peter, but I don't think I've ever heard Katnis called Catalina before. This was super entertaining Billy, thanks. Also, RIP Rue aka: Baby Tatiana. 😔😪
SO excited about this! Billy, you make my Saturdays!
He does not just make my saturdays he makes my whole week
I read the books way AFTER I watched the movies (in fourth grade, I might add)
They are slightly better, but these movies are pretty damn good as adaptations. Catching Fire (2nd movie/book) might honestly be the best most accurate book adaptation I've seen.
Rue makes me cry every single time I watch it! Plz finish it soon!!
Actually, Katniss’s Dad was a coal miner who died in a mining accident and her mom just mentally went downhill after his death, so Katniss became the sole provider for her family. Peeta actually did have a crush on her and when he got injured, Katniss took advantage of that so they could get the medicine from sponsors. At the end, Peeta didn’t know she was putting on a show & didn’t find out until they were on their way home. So their relationship is a little dicey in the beginning of the 2nd movie.😬
regarding p throwing bread at k when he has a crush: two days ago, my work crush asked if i had a tissue, and i threw a box of kleenex at him. some people are just that awkward, b. we don't mean to do it; it just happens. lol
In the books when Katniss's father dies her mom is catatonic. Katniss was bascially starving. Peeta and his mom saw her but didnt do anything to help her. Peeta purposefully burned the bread even tho he knew he would get in trouble and indeed he had a huge welt on his face when he comes back out. His mother told him to give it to the pigs but he throws it for Katniss instead, he had to throw it he couldnt be seen giving to her. Later Katniss goes out to hunt and becomes the person keeping her family alive. But that moment of kindness means a lot for Katniss.
Haymitch had watched about 23 years of the tributes he mentored die, it makes sense he didn’t want to get attached
There's no excuse for forgetting katniss name after 30 mins watching the movie... by that time it's been said at least 50 times
Billy: drink water
me: how did you know i need water?
The books have themes for people's names:
The Capital and districts 1& 2 (the richest ones) have Roman names. Cato, Caesar, etc. (Did you realize Lenny Kravitz plays the stylist?)
Katniss and Primrose are named after plants. Katniss is an edible plant with arrow-shaped leaves - genus is sagittaria (like the archer zodiac ♐)
Peeta is a baker's son, so think pita bread
Rue is named after an herb. She is from the agricultural food district - orchards and fields. I don't think the movie mentions the boy's name, but it's Thresh.
And if you haven't looked it up already, Panem (the county's name) is derived from the Latin for "bread and circuses".
I read the books and wrote an article about the movies a few years ago. The whole story is enthralling! I really hope you'll enjoy it.
2:09 The sign is up because is illegal to leave the District but the Capitol controls their electric power - her District is super neglected by their government. They only have electricity to watch the games - the Capitol can turn it on anytime they want though, so she going through is kind of dangerous.
3:24 It's a way to keep their population down. Everyone over 18 is obligated to work for the Capitol, but they don't really need the kids so...yeh.
4:46 It's a signal of respect - It means "goodbye" to someone you respect and love.
5:18 he died in a mining explosion.
My guy, even YT over you because as soon as you said
“I would have gave her a third leg-“
an ad popped up real quick lmao😂 (24:37)
I think their dad just died, its 12 to 18 years for the game. This ain't 16 and pregnant
I remember when I told my sister about Rue AKA Baby Tatiana and she got so upset
Actually Katniss’s dad died in the mines of District 12

I was SO excited to watch this video because
1. I absolutely loved the books and movies when I was younger
2. I was looking forward to the takes you’d have going into the movies with no knowledge of the series (considering most of it’s watchers at the time were fans of the books)
I think one of the things I love most about your videos is that you often go into the movies knowing little yet are ready and open for whatever comes, making it really fun and interesting to watch

4- Peeta "David" legit loves her (omg he is too perfect, he IS LIKEABLE naturally oh he is perfect)
5- I would totally gonna die at the Hunger Games
6- I Think they kiss like two toothless leeches
7- The books showed that better than the movies... Peeta was the charismatic one, and that's why she looks so comfortable on TV. He made that deal because that could have him longer in the game - like, he knew they would want to kill Katniss Catalina first because she was the strongest, and so he did that. I wouldn't do the same, and that's why I would die lol I don't blame him, tho... Anyways, he tossing the bread to her is another thing better explained at the books.
I watched the movies before reading the books and yeahh, I didn't liked Peeta David neither.
But the movie is amazing no matter what.
Next one will show this better anyways
Amazing video as always. You ALWAYS makes me laugh even tho you're too nasty sometimes lmao
Me going “umm no” and “who tf is David” the whole video 😂😂😂
