this was a fun review! Can’t even fathom 30C + in December where I’m at, that’s absolutely wild! The aesthetic is not to my preference, but seeing QK offering 1.6 mm non flex cut PCBs, a wide variety of plates, and now even top mount (and gummy o ring on the neo boards), truly mindblowing! They deserve a commendation for providing newcomers to the hobby with boards that allow for so much customization at such a great price point.
Yeah summer in Christmas just doesn’t feel right haha. But I 100% agree, even a year ago it was difficult to find cheap and reliable in stock options, can’t wait to see what they come up with in the future.
Daym, top mount with all the foams sounds crispy AF. No foam gasket also sounds good so that's a relief. The V1 was already phenomenal but the V2 step it up a notch, well done qwertykeys.
It seems this V2 really distinguishes itself from the V1 and the Neo65. I feel the original QK65 is actually succeeded by the Neo, allowing the new QK to push a more distinct design. While not my cup of tea, it still looks great.
I think I'm going to get a red one with gold meow badge/led strip, golden mirror weight, non flex cut pcb, and pom plate. It's sitting in my cart right now. This video may have just tipped the scale for me...
A bit of a young vibe, yet without RGB will not resonate with young audience. I'm sure someone will like it. The simple elegance of the Neo 65 is more my speed. To each their own.
I believe its the 65% light grey keebmat, it does help dampen the sound like most desksmats would do, I just like its small form factor for my desk aesthetics.
Not exactly sure how you feel that a keyboard is "overwhelming" with a backplate. You really do not see that part ever, if anything it just makes for an even better array of photos of your completed build.
It’s an interesting take, but Qwertykeys has their own configurator, which is also used to update the LCD display, so I guess that may have been the reason to prioritise their own config.
I definitely think it could have been approached better, either way it will be interesting to see how QK evolves as a brand in their design language. I'm also all for the magnet connections, makes building much easier
the fact that you took the time to wrap it and stayed in costume, love it xD
All for the skit hahaha

Just doing my part sir 🫡
I don't know what a dongle is but I like the way you say it. Keep up the good work
We need more videos from Dillon
It is 32 degrees here as well. Of course that is Fahrenheit rather than Celsius.
lets swap haha!

I have the V1 and of course may be biased but I like the cleaner look of the V1 far better than all the things they added for "distinct" design.

I'm sure you'll love it!
The LCD badges are so cringe. Please make a simple/plain option for the next one.
They do feel tacky imo, wish they had added a plain option too
Theres literally a v2 classic🤡
Great review. The beard must be itchy
Unbearably so, thank you!

What is the deskmat you put underneath your keyboard. Does it make it sound of the keyboard very different?

where is the snow
Its there i promise.
also great vid and props to you doing the christmas skit
Which plate is more thockier?? the PC or the POM? and does the flex cut of the v2s affect the sound too?
i found out about this board too late... now i missed the group buy in my local area T-T
I believe the groupbuy is only just starting for most local vendors! Check the notion page for dates!
ok thx!@@dill-keebs

Did i hear no qmk or via compatibility? Wtf lol

@@dill-keebs thanks for the reply I’ll have to look into it
"case is unmatched"...caughs in Kohaku
No buy for me. Novelty LCD screens instead of keys on a KEYboard... Will get old quick. The magnet connections were nice though.

I really dislike the LED design, definitely gonna skip this one
Still no RGB? ufffff.
