I gotta say Bernard Herrmann's tool kit and the British Drama and Contemporary toolkits are tied equally. What you lose in solo performances & legato you'll make up for in eloquence, unique character and transcendence-(Older Hollywood scores to modern). Don't sleep on these they are fantastic libraries.
Wow - Great recommendations! I own a few of their products (CDT, many LABs, BBC Discover, others) but it gets a bit overwhelming when I visit their site. It's nice to have your recommendations. That Bernard Herrmann toolkit sounds incredible! I must've missed your review of that one somehow. Thanks!
I was a bit surprised that Abbey Road One wasn’t included. When I bought it, I thought to myself, “what are you doing.” I have bbc core, Albion one, chamber strings, studio orchestra, Hans Zimmer Strings and percussion, and I wasn’t sure that I’d actually use it given how many other libraries I have, but it has slowly become my go-to library along with Hans Zimmer strings. I don’t usually like ‘pre orchestrated’ libraries, but I love the sound of Abbey Road one.
Hi Sam, I’m looking to buy one of the libraries too right now. Taking in consideration you’ve got many of them and probably some experience owning all of these, could I ask you some question and get your recommendations?
@@brianbemelmans843 Sure thing. If you'd prefer to e-mail, google me and I'm sure you'll find my website which has my e-mail on the contact me page. :-)
Hmmm...I must have missed BT Phobos when it was released. Don't really need another softsynth, but will check out the videos for the fun of it. Thanks Don! Happy Thanksgiving to you!
Nice summary Don! I sort of recognize the lovely short fragment of around 2:15 (Olafurs Felt Piano), but can't remember where it's from. Could you tell me where it's from (or is it just an improvisation)?
everyone seems to love albion one, i have it and was kind of disappointed by it. I think the shorts and the percussion are great but I've always found the strings, brass and woods longs to be super stale and synth like
@@SampleLibraryReviews just bought albion solstice for black friday and im a lot happier with it. I think I'm going to write to spitfire and ask if maybe in the future they could work towards implementing vibrato control into the legato patches in albion. Since the albion catch phrase is "everything you need to write orchestral music" i feel like vibrato control for legatos would really make this a true reality. Perhaps if you agree with me you could let them know too. I know there are other libraries that are more focused on solo lines but this would truly make albion perfect in my opinion. Especially in solstice where you get things like the mystics, which is a unlike folk whistle, not just a normal concert flute.

My favorite are Spitfire Studio O Pro and Spitfire Sym O Pro they're powerful... I use them every day
I have too many Spitfire Audio libraries. I also don’t have enough Spitfire Audio libraries. 😳🤣🤣🤣
Relate
All depends on the project :)
@@AndreasSaag LOL.
@@SampleLibraryReviews And the budget. 😂
The correct number of Spitfire libraries is one more than what you currently have.

Hey Sam, thanks for sharing. I think once the Abbey Road series is complete it will be a real contender for the list :)
