- We spent 6 nights cruising on the Sky Princess Cruise Ship and stayed in our first pure aft cabin.
We booked a D4 category which is a Premium Deluxe Cabin on Baja Deck 11 which cost £728 for 6 nights each. In this video we give you a comprehensive tour of cabin B737, and give tips on getting a bigger balcony for the same price, and let your know if we would book this type of cabin again!

We've just been on Sky and had our first ever Aft Cabin ........... we loved it especially cruising through the Fjords.

We had an aft balcony cabin on our last cruise and we absolutely loved it! We were so pleasantly surprised by how big the balcony was and we really enjoyed watching the wake.
It is a great position, we would love to stay in an aft cabin again!
The TV showing menus in restaurants is something I missed on Iona, it really does save a lot of time and makes planning easier when selecting where to eat. Top notch video, thanks for sharing 👍

Everything was very similar except for beautiful balony. The greatest cruise we ever took.once you have been on princess nothing else compares

Wonderful cabin with a fabulous, huge balcony and great view. I've never had an aft cabin but think it would be worth paying the extra for the one you've got. We've got a standard balcony for our September cruise on Sky.
It was definitely worth the extra cost, it was such a fabulous space, would definitely book it again. We have an aft balcony on Ruby in Alaska and can't wait for that! 😍

Thank you so much for this great tour! We've never stayed an aft cabin but we'll definitely give it a try after watching your video. We've been somewhat disappointed with the newer princess ships they've actually cut the balconies down to half size! Not the price though! Kind of crazy!
Totally agree Princess Royal class standard balconies are tiny. Loved this aft cabin would definitely book again!

We will be sailing in an aft balcony on the Trans Atlantic crossing in about 3 weeks. We're on deck 9 which also has the larger balconies. Hoping that the alcohol has been restocked since your sailing. lol Enjoying your videos very much. 🥔🥔🥔

Aft views are great, we had one in Alaska. I would highly recommend a balcony or aft cabin balcony in Alaska as it allows you to step outside for a quick look around and you are pretty sheltered from the weather. In the Caribbean though I am actually ok with an inside cabin. The reason being I am out of the cabin for 14 hours a day. I literally just shower and sleep in it.
Aft views are great. We are heading to Alaska next year and have booked an aft cabin so looking forward to that!

Premier deluxe-oh nice! But I’d rather have a separate walk-in closet with a door! I just don’t get why they don’t replace all those shower curtains with glass doors! But nice to have bedside USB ports. Yes, that act cabin has a beautiful balcony and view, but I wouldn’t want anybody who could see me from above. Great that you got your drinks so fast on the Medallion! And nice that you can order from the restaurants. Somehow I can’t picture Paulie watching Beauty and the Beast!😂

Love this! I am researching into river cruises for our 20th anniversary! Have you went on an Amawaterway? Do they make your bed and clean up your room, everyday?

Lovely to see that cabin , I’m thinking about sky princess for Norway 2024 , can’t decide between iona or this ship , we also have a blue light card but usually use our travel agent who’s brilliant,a bit worried about booking direct is it easy ? As I’m not very internet savvy but would like to save some cash !
If your not Internet confident you can just ring them.
I've just watched it again and as I mentioned we've got a standard balcony but I've just booked for my daughter and sister to join us and they only had obstructed standard or deluxe balconies. I've gone for E109 as the obstruction is just the metal rather than glass balcony and I thought that was better than lifeboat machinery etc.
Agree would if chosen that too! Is this the Baltic itinerary?
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Yes it is. Graeme and I booked ages ago and it was cancelled in 2021 so they just moved us to 2022. Sadly after a long illness my brother in law died on New Year's Eve morning and my sister needs something to look forward to after many years of being a full time carer.

Wonderful video thank you. Do you find there is greater movement and therefore greater chance of sea sickness in this cabin? It looks terrific, but I get the worst motion sickness 🤢.
It really depends on the itinerary, but the rule of thumb is generally the closer to the middle of the ship and the lower down you are the less movement you will experience.

Great tour again - did you feel any engine vibration being at the aft?
You do feel a bit and a little more movement, but this didn't bother us, but definitely something to consider!
The view is fab with the wake, I enjoy the purr of the sea. But, how much more motion is there, will seasickness be an issue?
There was some movement, didn't bother us but may be an issue for some.

There would not be a kettle in the cabins anywhere but in the UK. We North Americans drink coffee more, but they don’t supply a Nespresso espresso coffee maker. I wish. We dont drink instant. Cabin looks great, but we like midship, as I can’t walk very well.
Shane but realise that. It was a long walk but good to burn those extra calories off!

Thanks! Looking at the deck plans it looks smaller, 242 sq ft rather than 282 square ft, check the plans and you will see that it appears the balcony is smaller.

I am booked in this cabin for a cruise in March. My parents have the suite next door B735. Did you notice by any chance if the gateway between the balconies can open? On previous cruises, my relatives have gotten adjoining cabins and opened the balcony gates between them. Curious to see if that's possible here.
I think there was, just checked some of our photos and there was a latch on the left hand side. Couldn't see the right side.
There should be drinks in the fridge.
Sadly very few cruise lines give you free drinks these days☹️
If you would like to give a tip to your cabin steward, in which currency would you do this Ie: £/USD as an example?.

We normally give it in the currency of where we are cruising from. UK £, Europe Euros etc.

No we didn't hear any noise at night, slept very well! 😀
Nice cabin. We just returned from a two week med cruise with Princess, midship in a club class mini suite. Your balcony was much larger than ours. How do you finding cruising with masks on? The sip and recover, reduced quite boring itinerary, we seemed to go backwards to a number of months ago and had more freedoms off the ship. I won’t be cruising again until the mask wearing at least is lifted. I wasn’t expecting things to be the same, but didn’t realise how all the constraints on the ship would impact my experience.
We loved our aft cabin, definitely pick it again. We have found with Princess the cabins are smaller than other lines so you have to book a higher grade with Princess to get the same size as standard on others which is frustrating. The mask wearing is a pain. Hoping that will be reduced on future cruises, certainly has an impact on spending time in the Theatre etc. This is also dependent on cruise line. On Virgin Scarlet Lady when we cruised in August no masks were worn which was very liberating! Not sure why it is still enforced for passengers as we have all tested negative and are all double vaccinated. We are off on our first real itinerary next week with 3 International ports so excited about that!
@@PaulandCaroleLovetoTravel Yes that’s what I found a bit strange, all testing negative and double jabbed before we sailed but still having to wear the masks. I did wonder if it was for our benefit, or purely for Princess so they could carry on with their business. It really felt like we were stepping back to the ‘bad days’ of covid, people were on tenterhooks with the rules. Only a few people allowed in a lift that can carry 22!
