BITING THE ARROW | Story of Not Letting an Injury Affect Archery Season

- I live for bowhunting, so when an injury to my right wrist prevented me from being able to shoot my bow, I had to improvise and learn to shoot the bow by drawing with my mouth.
Sometimes, when things don't go as planned, you have to bite the bullet and improvise. In this case, I had to bite the arrow.
Literally if u had to pick one person on the planet to be able to get it done solo filming with a mouth tab you'd be crazy not to put your money on remi!! Great film man definitely inspiring and some great animals
Thanks!
That’s freaking amazing Remi. I have heard the stories on the podcast and saw the episode of the deer 🦌 hunt.
Most if not everyone would love to have as successful a season with two hands 🙌🏻 as you did with one ☝️. 😊🏹🦌
Sir, you have always been and will always be my favorite. Keep rockin!
I had that exact injury about 8 years ago the doctor told me that it was going to be a life changing experience for me that I wouldn’t be able to do certain things again but I wanted it so badly that I pushed myself to the limits. 4 months late I was using an auger and my buddy filmed it and sent it to the doctor he was amazed. Now I get to hunt the doctors property and my wrist is as good as it was before. Thanks for sharing your story
Praying for healing 🙏
hunting is such an awesome lifestyle, I get your desire to push on.
Hell yea Remi , been waiting for this great story. I Injured myself recently and will be following your trail this year with my archery tag ( mouth tab ) let’s go !
While I was visiting Cambodia in May, there was a time when I accidentally fell off an avocado tree and landed on my right wrist. Initially, my immediate reaction was "Oh no, this is going to ruin my hunting in the Fall season".
Fortunately, with time, my wrist gradually healed, enabling me to field dress deer but struggled to carry the meat back to my truck.
at around 40lbs would have thought a draw weight of !👌👌 that's amazing
Freakin nuts. Mad props
Truly inspiring!
I need to learn how to build the tab! My shoulder is inop and I still need to hunt this season.
Love ya Remi, but it sucks when you watch someone shoot better with a mouth tab, then you can with healthy wrists.😂😞
So glad to see you got away from ua hunt, they’re trash
Awesome Remi your are a true legend of this life style
I have so many questions! Thankfully you have healthy teeth. Great film, Remi!
That's really cool to see. I'm so jealous that you even have the opportunity to bowhunt. I live in Sweden where its illegal but it would be so cool to try sometime
Remi, ive been in your shoes and will be there for the rest of my life. Ive had 2 wrist fusions. One being a scaphoid lunate fusion that one didnt take and ended up breaking. I had a scaphoid excision and hardware removal for that and at the same time the dr's did a 4 corner fusion. That hardware removal and scaphoid excision was almost 10yrs after the initial fusion. Almost 1yr to the date i did something and blew the 4 corner fusion hardware out of the bones and had to have that removed. Ive also had 2 shoulder surgeries to repair a badly torn and ripped labrum. Im no longer able to properly draw and hold a compound or atleast the dual cam bows. I feel your pain sir and hope your able to overcome all this.
Remi you are the man. A beast of a man.
Remi, I admire your tenacity and never give up attitude. I had to give up using my recurve bow because I tore my rotator cuff in 2001 and after Two failed surgeries I went with a crossbow. Then I hyperextened my left knee in 2013 and tore everything in it and after 6 months of physio it still was healing. So my doctor told me the only way to fix it was replace the knee. Well that surgery didn't go well and to this day I still have problems with it. But I refuse to let it slow me down too much and I still hunt, I can't hike for long periods like I used to and I have to watch how and where I step but I'm still hunting and I won't stop til my time comes to stop. Never give up no matter what anyone tells you.👍👍👍❤❤❤
Stared down adversity and made it your bitch. Crazy what the drive to live wild can do.
Greatest archery season of all time? Might just be!
You make hard things look easy. Well done buddy, huge inspiration.
Remi is the most legit hunting guy on the internet, awesome dude!
Man, it's wild how effective you still are with a bow using a mouth tab! I'd be crapping myself thinking my teeth are gonna get ripped out lol. Keep Killin' it, great content as always man! Hope your injuries heal fully and healthily.
Awesome stuff! 👌
Just listened to all this on the podcast! It’s kinda cool getting a visual to it all! Happy your doing better Remi!👍🏻🦌🇺🇸🏹
Awesome video Remi! I had a knee replacement last Aug and the recovery was a real drag but was able to get back out for chukar starting in Dec. so I feel your pain. I'm psyched to have a NV archery mule deer tag for this season and a brand new knee. Keep the videos coming!
OMG, that is an incredible story. I can’t wrap my head around you bumping it up to 65 pounds with a mouth tab…Congrats on pushing through and not giving up.
Thanks Remi, I Couldn't have watched this video at a better time, You're a huge inspiration and Motivator. Glad i had this video downloaded for the woods. Back to the grind before that Montana first light, this tag isn't going to fill itself!
This is inspiring. Just found Fri, I need wrist surgery. Was bummed approaching hunting season. But now there is hope!
Absolutely incredible. What an example of overcoming adversity for what you want to accomplish!
Shout-out to your tall brother-in-law, met him briefly in Portland at a conference. You're the man, don't stop.
Crazy stuff dude. I broke my hand 2 years ago right before rifle deer season but I still could use my trigger finger so I was able to tag out still. Very interesting hunt
Most people would get a crossbow permit for the injury… not Remi lol
You're amazing! Great story and video.
What an incredible season! Congratulations Remi!
I hope all is well with the wrist now. What a journey. You are an inspiration.
you could of just used a crossbow, They make some bad ass ones these days!
Dudes a freaking beast👏
defeated all the odds!
So awesome!
Been waiting on this one. thanks Remi for all the information you put out. Your podcast is one I never miss. Randy and Corey say, if you are looking for a podcast to learn something Elktalk isn't it 😅, you should listen to Remi.
Love your enthusiasm and overcoming adversity, inspiration to us all! Thanks for sharing!!
Loved this video, what an incredible process and journey to not let anything get in your way. Now I really have no excuses.
What a true warrior. Love how you have the drive of doing these things even after what happened. Incredible to see how much you love the outdoors and conquering any obstacles thrown your way. Most people would not be doing the thing they love if they knew what struggles they had to do to get there. Good for you man! 👍❤️
