  • Like the title says. It's the intro (wasted youth) and the song (everything louder than everything else) in one clip.

You were brought up right. My band did this song in the high school talent show right after Bat 2 came out. I really wish I had video because it was epic. I had a pos strat copy guitar and I involved a blow up doll as the cheerleader... People didnt know wtf they were seeing. Then we rocked the fuck out of "Everything Louder." We got disqualified for some reason... Even though we got DQ'd, it was a fucking wild ride I will be proud of for the rest of my life.

My mom found bat out of hell 2 thrown away in a snow bank, she picked up the cd and gave it to me.i polished the face up so I could listen to it. This was the one and only single time in the history of my life were I cleaned up a piece of trash and it became pure 24k hold.
This song? Was the eternal shine that reflected off the surface of this composition and as long I live I will always think of this song as one of the greatest I ever heard in the first 30+ years of my life.
God bless you Mr loaf. If your reading this up there from heaven I just want you to know that I love you and you will be remembered for your Beathoven like talent.

It just builds up to the wasted youth anthem. it gets you in the right emotional feeling. just like listening to free bird or something. you have to listen to it from the beginning so you really get the feeling when it gets to the solo!

Meatloaf was in Springfield, Pennsylvania promoting this album in I believe 1992. I was about 9 months old and according to my parents I was singing to this song! So as my parents are getting there CD signed Meatloaf asks to hold me. So my parents are like sure , I guess! So I have an Autographed Polaroid Photograph of meatloaf holding me as a baby! I fell asleep in his arms too witch was great for my parents because they needed a nap too!

I know how lucky I am! I was (no kidding) barely seventeen when I saw him first in 1990! Just 6 months finished school, walking on Henry St. Dublin and there was a poster up in HMV advertising Meat's gig. £12 or £13. Rang Dad and he insisted I get tickets! Dad, a mate and I went to it. Amazing! Instant fan. Went to see him again at a festival in Tipperary same year and all 10 following times he was here in succeeding years! No comparison, and I have seen hundreds of other concerts over the years.

    Wasted Youth
    Wasted Youth
    I remember everything!
I remember everything little thing, as if it happened yesterday
I was barely seventeen, and I once killed a boy with a Fender Guitar
I don't remember if it was a Telecaster or a Stratocaster
But I do remember that it had a heart of chrome, and a voice like a horny angel
I don't remember if it was a Telecaster or a Stratocaster
But I do remember that it wasn't at all easy
It required the perfect combination of the right power chords
And the precise angle from which to strike!
The guitar bled for about a week afterwords
And the blood was zoot, dark and rich, like wild berries
The blood of the guitar was Chuck Berry red
The guitar bled for about a week afterwords
    But it rung out beautifully
And I was able to play notes that I had never even heard before
    So I took my guitar
And I smashed it against the wall
I smashed it against the floor
I smashed it against the body of a varsity cheerleader
Smashed it against the hood of a car
    Smashed it against a 1981 Harley-Davidson
    The Harley howled in pain
    The guitar howled in heat
And I ran up the stairs to my parents bedroom
Mommy and Daddy were sleeping in the moonlight
    Slowly I opened the door
Creeping in the shadows right up to the foot of their bed
I raised the guitar high above my head
And just as I was about to bring the guitar crashing down upon the center of the bed
My father woke up, screaming "Stop!"
"Wait a minute. Stop it boy. What do you think your doing?"
"That's no way to treat an expensive musical instrument"
And I said, "God Damn It daddy, "
"You know I love you, But you've got a hell of a lot to learn about Rock n' Roll"

This song isn't the same without the intro. Even though the song is amazing. And has possibly my favorite line in any song. A wasted youth is better by far, than a wise and productive old age. Doesn't make sense in the real world, but a great line for a rock song.

Growing up, I always thought it was, "That a wasted youth is never my fault at a wise and productive old age". As in, the adults running the world forgot what they were like in their youth and wouldn't take ownership for the influence the world they created had on the youth's behavior.

  • @NicolasLopez-jx9bn

    Wasted youth!
    Wasted youth!
    Oh oh oh
    Oh oh oh
I know that I will never be politically correct
And I don't give a damn about my lack of ettiquette
As far as I'm concerned the world could still be flat
And if the thrill is gone then it's time to take it back
If the thrill is gone then it's time to take it back
    Who am I?
    Why am I here?
Forget the questions someone get me another beer
    What's the meaning of life?
What's the meaning of it all?
    You gotta learn to dance
    Before you learn to crawl
    You gotta learn to dance
    Before you learn to crawl
So sign up, all you raw recruits
    Throw away those designer suits
You got your weapons cocked, your targets in your sights
There's a party raging, somewhere in the world
You gotta serve your country, gotta service your girl
You're all enlisted in the army of the night
And I ain't in it for the power
And I ain't in it for my health
I ain't in it for the glory of anything at all
And I sure ain't in it for the wealth
But I'm in it til' it's over
    And I just can't stop
If you want to get it done, you have to do it yourself
And I like my music like I like my life
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Wasted youth!
    Wasted youth!
    Wasted youth!
    Wasted youth!
They got a file on me that's a mile long
And they say that they've got all of the proof
That I'm just another case of arrested development
    I'm just another wasted youth
They say that I'm in need of some radical discipline
They say I gotta face the truth
That I'm just another case of arrested development
    I'm just another wasted youth
They say I'm wild and I'm reckless
I should be acting my age
I'm an impressionable child In a tumultuous world
And they say I'm at a difficult stage
But it seems to me to the contrary
Of all the crap they're gonna put on the page
That a wasted youth is better by far
Then a wise and productive old age
A wasted youth is better by far
Then a wise and productive old age
A wasted youth is better by far
Then a wise and productive old age
A wasted youth is better by far
Then a wise and productive old age
A wasted youth is better by far
Then a wise and productive old age
A wasted youth is better by far
Then a wise and productive old age
Louder, louder, louder, louder, louder, louder, louder, louder
    Louder
If you want my views of history
Then there's something you should know
The three men I admire most are Curly, Larry, Moe
    Don't worry about the future
Sooner or later it's the past if they say the thrill is gone then it's time to take it back
If the thrill is gone then it's time to take it back
So sign up, all you raw recruits
Throw away those two bit suits
You got your weapons cocked, your targets in your sights
There's a party raging, somewhere in the world
You gotta serve your country, gotta service your girl
You're all inducted in the army of the night
And I ain't in it for the power
And I ain't in it for my health
I ain't in it for the glory of anything at all
And I sure ain't in it for the wealth
But I'm in it til' it's over
    And I just can't stop
If you want to get it done, you got to fight for yourself
And I like my music like I like my life
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    (Everything louder, everything)
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else
    Everything louder than everything else

1994. I'd do anything for love. Fell for a gal hard with that song. Went to buy the album. Got them mixed up and got the original. Fell in love with those old weird 70s ballads. Love by the dashboard light.... 2 out of 3 ain't bad...
Fast forward. Anger consumes me. I choose wasted youth to manage. Me and my bro love the song.
Angry boy punching the bathroom dryer stall in the school.
Run away from home, wandered the streets alone. So mad at the momma.
Later, momma passes away. It's 2004 now, 10 years later.
Review mommas joirnal and discover she wrote about how my friends prayed for me while I wandered those lonely streets. Walking barefoot miles as I jump out of the window. Friends want me to bang a girl.
      Bloody broken feet....
      1995
      Cry out to the lord
1996. Born again, baptism of fire
2023. Preparation for the "Jesus is the first Rockstar debut in the deserts of Nevada, approximately August.
The guitar that murdered the King will be revealed in a dream.
      Everything louder than everything else.
Sometimes when you want to get it done, u gotta do it yerself.
Me and my buddy jdawg will gitt ittt dunn.

I remember sitting in front of the CD player with Bat Out of Hell in it when I was - cripes, it was 11 years ago! That was the last time I can remember listening to these tracks. In 11 years I've done a lot of stuff that's taken up brain space - like going to Uni. But I put this on yesterday (out of the blue) and could recall all the lyrics! And I'm impossible for lyrics. It seems Meatloaf has a special place in my brain o.x
    WOO!

The whole first spoken sequence was made is directly taken from Jim Steinmans solo album: Bad for Good. Then called : "Love and Death and an American Guitar" and just "moved" over 12 years later th Bat Out Of Hell II.
