Nice guide! As someone who has over 21k barter exchanges, I have some suggestion. 1. Having multiple alts and ship is a key to success. 1 in Hakoven, 1 in Crow Merchant in Magoria, 1 in Port Ratt, and 1 in Oquilla's Eye to accept/turn in dailies. A quick 5 min log in is worth so much more than 40min afk sailing. 2. The only trade around Valencia trade that is worth time is Hakoven. It'll save you much much time if you have an alt there just for Hakoven 3. When trading for materials, ONLY go for the multiple ones. Ex: 1 for 3 or 1 for 2. The 1 for 1 trade is never worth it.

People may say that making that much in a day isnt possible, but i can confirm that it is. at MINIMUM you can make ~100mil a refresh of bartering. It also depends if you have a value pack or not and are efficient in weight management.

yoooo I'm new to bartering/the game this was mad helpful, i was able to get most of my caravel items within a couple days because i knew exactly what to look out for

You can set your own autopath when you sail Port Epheria by holding alt key and RMB. since those rocks in Epheria are not visible in the map, so I stuck there a lot of times lol.
you should combine Farming with Bartering, Bartering is active farming, farming is passive, you can do both at once and easily hit over 600 million a day

Hello Mekose. I'll try to answer as best as I can. 1. It's worth it if you don't have good PVE gear for grinding or not interested in grinding. Also if you're home all day then it works out for you. I personally just afk my way throughout the day so the money adds up for me. If you're into grinding, you can make more doing that but it's ofcourse a lot more hands on work. The money comes from NPCing level 5 items and converting crow coins into cash. This seems slow at the start but adds up very quick. 2. The routes can be a bit tricky, but you can take it step by step. There's not cut and dry method on the routes so you start off doing all the routes from Level 1 item to level 5/crow coins. Later on as you unlock new routes, you'll understand roughly how long it'll take you to sail around. At that point you can start picking and choosing what you want to do or not. You'll also get an idea on when to start a route from the middle instead of the entire thing. This is really subjective to you because it would depend on how many items you have stockpiled. It was confusing for me too in the beginning but it falls into place as you go along. 3. So the biggest thing to get started is getting a Caravel or Galleass. Once you obtain one of these ships, the big money can start coming in. If you go the Galleass route, it's slightly slower income than Caravel because of the weight but you make all your money back soon. It is an investment of a weeks time to get started but then for the foreseeable future you can have a low-effort method to make money which is not dependent on other players or the market :) yay no tax. As for PVP - you can use a character which is under lvl 50 (like I do) as your barter alt. I forgot to mention it :( RIP. But the downside is it can't fire cannons. I use my main for sea monster hunting when I need to. I hope this helps. Lmk if you have anymore questions!
@@imPansy Thank you for the thoughtful response. Something I neglected to realize was the quantity of items you barter. It's not always 1 to 1 so if you take every barter it seems like you'd be left with extras quite often. So it's not like you're only left with 1 item worth 5M at the end of your route; meaning each subsequent route has more options because of the left-overs. i also really like the idea of income separated from the economy. This is probably the only content I can think of that generates true silver as you're not relying on lifeskill materials or rare accessory drops which fluctuate in price.
Nice vid. Well done. If you want to go for the carrack then dont spend ur crow coins. Save them all untill you are at the end of your carrack dailies so you have enough to buy any pieces of material you do not have yet or do not have enough of.
Very good Guide, for starting out but if you want to go for your carrack . I wouldn't spend my crow coins on caphra and manos, better to save it up for the materials and you should always trade for every T1 item. As it is the fastest way to get your barter trade rout up to 10 that's when you will unlock barter for your carrack materials.
Yea for sure. I had to cover the ways to convert coins -> money for the people who just want to make money now. I'm definitely saving up for Carrack though

Approximately how much money can you make/day if you rush the 500mil sail boat? I'm thinking about going this route since ships and fighting on sea seems cool but as a new player I don't have alot of resources to replenish the money I spend. Amazing video though! Great guide, but better off going to sailboat//Carraval route as higher weight capacity means less barter run u need to do as u can do multiple barter chain simultinously , i made 1b/ day when im using carraval ,did not keep in track when i got my Carrack

I would reconmmend Explore over supply, it does lower the dur sometimes but its worth it, it sometimes gives you material you need and alot of useful stuff.
Thank you for the guide! I am just start gathering material for my first Eph boat (very casual player so slow progress...). I have some questions if you able to help. For my first one is it better to get frigate or sailboat? I want to do trade but is sailboat strong enough since will need to hunt sea monster to upgrade? So if I use below level 50 character that has not activate the PVP will it be safe from other people's attack in the sea? Will lower level means harder to kill sea monster or to kill sea monster it just depend on the sailors and ship gear and not about our character own gears? Also I think you mentioned green goblins are better than blue one for sailor. So is it reverse of workers for gathering nodes where green is lower than blue? Thank you!!
Hey Zyara, 1. Sailboat is better for making money, Frigate is for pvp. Don't worry about sea monsters, you can kill them with the improved sailboar/caravel just fine. 2. A character below level 50 does make you safe, however you can not fire cannons with it. You have to be 50 or higher to use cannons so you won't be able to hunt sea monsters with that character. 3. Im not sure about the color but the innocent goblins have a potential for high max speed. I'll have to look into the newer sailors though
@@imPansy Ok I will make sailboat and try hunt sea monsters to gather the upgrade mats. I see, so below 50 you can sail and barter and not get attacked PVP wise but monster can still attack you and you cant fire cannons.
Hey Walid, you just need the level 1 barter items. Each one is traded for vouchers to purchase verdant black stones in a 1:1 ratio. You might need a few more than 100
Sailing and trading was one of the main gameplay draws for me to BDO. However, 1 full year+ in and my brain cells still can't process getting more than a Bartali sailboat with all the money/crafting involved to get Epheria tier ships.

Hello imPansy! Appreciate the guide a lot, it gave me some insight but I'm still confused until I actually try it for the first time and learn by doing. I do have two questions tho. 1. I'm the type of person that likes to have everything on a main if possible, I don't like making multiple alts for different purposes. Is there a lot of PvP going on while bartering? I'd really prefer to use my main but if there is actually that much PvP that I can't barter whatsoever then I'll have to think twice about it. 2. I still have old Shakatu Seals and have enough to buy the Epheria Sailboat outright. It doesn't matter if I have a Epheria Sailboat or Frigate. Both are fine once improved right? 1. Yes theres a pvp on the ocean, but its a naval pvp. So even if u have high gear in ur main character that doesnt gonna help anything if the guy has a stronger ship than urs. Tips : u can avoid get sink by using alt lvl 49 2. Its matter if u have plan to do long run barter, bcs both sailbot and frigate had different stats. Sailbot is for bartering bcs of the higher weight limit and frigate for pvp naval war/sea monster hunt bcs amount of canon and firepower. And theres a carak version of them that u have also think about. tips : might be wise if u get sailboat first to barter bcs bartering with frigate its really bad
Oh and skip imporved version and go straight for caravel/galleas, Improved is a waste if time. u can get material drop from sea monster by asking friends or some random ppl it only take 2-4 sea monster to get loot u need for upgrading ship
Hey Pikachu. 1. There is PVP. People hunt others to make them lose items. If you're attacked, immediately change channels to escape. 2. Go for Sailboat if you want to barter for money and go frigate if you want to pvp. Sorry for the delay, I dont get notifications on all the comments for some reason.

Hey man, thanks for the Guide! One question though as i am already using 300cp for my stuff: How many CP would you recommend are the minimum to get started?
How much of a stockpile should you keep of your lower tier items(mainly T1 items)? When starting from scratch, should I exchange as many times as I can(even if T2 -> T3 are 1:1 trades)?
I have over 200 T1 items. It's completely situational. There's not really a moment where that Tier 1 item will be worth more later down the line or anything. You just want to keep accumulating extras so in the future you can skip parts of routes. For example, say you only have 2 hours to play. You log in and dip into your surplus and go hit allll the Tier 5 barters then immediately refresh and continue bartering. 5 barters of T5 = 4 x 5 T5 items = 20 T5 barter items = 100 m Subtracting the cost of the T4 item's you've exchanged, that's 60m in quick profit. This is just 1 example. Bartering is highly situational, so you have to wing it. Having a surplus gives you flexibility to pull shenanigans like this.

I’m definitely waiting for the continuation of the guide and the commentary on your bartering journey :) At the moment I’m in the preparation process for starting this life skill but I’m wondering about the necessity of having alts. I suppose you’re using an alt for money making and keep your main character on the continent, right? If I followed the tips at the end of the video that was recommending having 2(wow) alts (1 for dailies and 1 at the avocado harbour) with their own sailboats/frigate, then I would end up with 1 main bartering alt and two additional ones and having in total 3 expensive boats? XD Did I get it right? It seems like quite an investment and use of the character slots as well Still, I think that these things only are still a bit confusing to me and besides that your guide was very helpful!

Yeah, you'll need them to build up a stock pile. As you have more routes unlocked, the less forgiving they get. I sometimes get a refresh where all the routes are scattered everywhere. So at times like that I rely on the stockpile to skip around.

@imPansy Been pretty disappointed in the corsair so far, not feeling that she is main material so i was thinking of making her my sea content alt, what do you think?
@@imPansy she gives a 1% boost to all large ship stats and can breath for an extra 20 seconds underwater. Not sure if its the most ideal, she's just likely to be a spare character that's sitting around doing nothing otherwise. Im waiting to see her awakening but so far i am less than impressed.

1. It's worth it if you don't have good PVE gear for grinding or not interested in grinding. Also if you're home all day then it works out for you. I personally just afk my way throughout the day so the money adds up for me. If you're into grinding, you can make more doing that but it's ofcourse a lot more hands on work. The money comes from NPCing level 5 items and converting crow coins into cash. This seems slow at the start but adds up very quick.
2. The routes can be a bit tricky, but you can take it step by step. There's not cut and dry method on the routes so you start off doing all the routes from Level 1 item to level 5/crow coins. Later on as you unlock new routes, you'll understand roughly how long it'll take you to sail around. At that point you can start picking and choosing what you want to do or not. You'll also get an idea on when to start a route from the middle instead of the entire thing. This is really subjective to you because it would depend on how many items you have stockpiled. It was confusing for me too in the beginning but it falls into place as you go along.
3. So the biggest thing to get started is getting a Caravel or Galleass. Once you obtain one of these ships, the big money can start coming in. If you go the Galleass route, it's slightly slower income than Caravel because of the weight but you make all your money back soon. It is an investment of a weeks time to get started but then for the foreseeable future you can have a low-effort method to make money which is not dependent on other players or the market :) yay no tax.
As for PVP - you can use a character which is under lvl 50 (like I do) as your barter alt. I forgot to mention it :( RIP. But the downside is it can't fire cannons. I use my main for sea monster hunting when I need to.

@@imPansy Thank you for the thoughtful response. Something I neglected to realize was the quantity of items you barter. It's not always 1 to 1 so if you take every barter it seems like you'd be left with extras quite often. So it's not like you're only left with 1 item worth 5M at the end of your route; meaning each subsequent route has more options because of the left-overs.
i also really like the idea of income separated from the economy. This is probably the only content I can think of that generates true silver as you're not relying on lifeskill materials or rare accessory drops which fluctuate in price.

Nice vid. Well done. If you want to go for the carrack then dont spend ur crow coins. Save them all untill you are at the end of your carrack dailies so you have enough to buy any pieces of material you do not have yet or do not have enough of.

Very good Guide, for starting out but if you want to go for your carrack . I wouldn't spend my crow coins on caphra and manos, better to save it up for the materials and you should always trade for every T1 item. As it is the fastest way to get your barter trade rout up to 10 that's when you will unlock barter for your carrack materials.

I would reconmmend Explore over supply, it does lower the dur sometimes but its worth it, it sometimes gives you material you need and alot of useful stuff.

For my first one is it better to get frigate or sailboat? I want to do trade but is sailboat strong enough since will need to hunt sea monster to upgrade?
So if I use below level 50 character that has not activate the PVP will it be safe from other people's attack in the sea? Will lower level means harder to kill sea monster or to kill sea monster it just depend on the sailors and ship gear and not about our character own gears?
Also I think you mentioned green goblins are better than blue one for sailor. So is it reverse of workers for gathering nodes where green is lower than blue? Thank you!!

1. Sailboat is better for making money, Frigate is for pvp. Don't worry about sea monsters, you can kill them with the improved sailboar/caravel just fine.
2. A character below level 50 does make you safe, however you can not fire cannons with it. You have to be 50 or higher to use cannons so you won't be able to hunt sea monsters with that character.
3. Im not sure about the color but the innocent goblins have a potential for high max speed. I'll have to look into the newer sailors though

Hey Walid, you just need the level 1 barter items. Each one is traded for vouchers to purchase verdant black stones in a 1:1 ratio. You might need a few more than 100

Sailing and trading was one of the main gameplay draws for me to BDO. However, 1 full year+ in and my brain cells still can't process getting more than a Bartali sailboat with all the money/crafting involved to get Epheria tier ships.

Appreciate the guide a lot, it gave me some insight but I'm still confused until I actually try it for the first time and learn by doing.
I do have two questions tho.
1. I'm the type of person that likes to have everything on a main if possible, I don't like making multiple alts for different purposes. Is there a lot of PvP going on while bartering? I'd really prefer to use my main but if there is actually that much PvP that I can't barter whatsoever then I'll have to think twice about it.
2. I still have old Shakatu Seals and have enough to buy the Epheria Sailboat outright. It doesn't matter if I have a Epheria Sailboat or Frigate. Both are fine once improved right?

1. Yes theres a pvp on the ocean, but its a naval pvp. So even if u have high gear in ur main character that doesnt gonna help anything if the guy has a stronger ship than urs.
Tips : u can avoid get sink by using alt lvl 49
2. Its matter if u have plan to do long run barter, bcs both sailbot and frigate had different stats. Sailbot is for bartering bcs of the higher weight limit and frigate for pvp naval war/sea monster hunt bcs amount of canon and firepower. And theres a carak version of them that u have also think about.
tips : might be wise if u get sailboat first to barter bcs bartering with frigate its really bad
Oh and skip imporved version and go straight for caravel/galleas, Improved is a waste if time. u can get material drop from sea monster by asking friends or some random ppl it only take 2-4 sea monster to get loot u need for upgrading ship

1. There is PVP. People hunt others to make them lose items. If you're attacked, immediately change channels to escape.
2. Go for Sailboat if you want to barter for money and go frigate if you want to pvp.

Hey! The only time you need CP for bartering is for a storage container. You can get started as soon as you get an Epheria I'd say
How much of a stockpile should you keep of your lower tier items(mainly T1 items)? When starting from scratch, should I exchange as many times as I can(even if T2 -> T3 are 1:1 trades)?
I have over 200 T1 items. It's completely situational. There's not really a moment where that Tier 1 item will be worth more later down the line or anything. You just want to keep accumulating extras so in the future you can skip parts of routes. For example, say you only have 2 hours to play. You log in and dip into your surplus and go hit allll the Tier 5 barters then immediately refresh and continue bartering.
5 barters of T5 = 4 x 5 T5 items = 20 T5 barter items = 100 m
Subtracting the cost of the T4 item's you've exchanged, that's 60m in quick profit.
This is just 1 example. Bartering is highly situational, so you have to wing it. Having a surplus gives you flexibility to pull shenanigans like this.

At the moment I’m in the preparation process for starting this life skill but I’m wondering about the necessity of having alts. I suppose you’re using an alt for money making and keep your main character on the continent, right?
If I followed the tips at the end of the video that was recommending having 2(wow) alts (1 for dailies and 1 at the avocado harbour) with their own sailboats/frigate, then I would end up with 1 main bartering alt and two additional ones and having in total 3 expensive boats? XD

Yeah, you'll need them to build up a stock pile. As you have more routes unlocked, the less forgiving they get. I sometimes get a refresh where all the routes are scattered everywhere. So at times like that I rely on the stockpile to skip around.
depend ,when u are starting (less than 1k barter count) better to do even 1:1 so u can unlock more route faster

@@imPansy she gives a 1% boost to all large ship stats and can breath for an extra 20 seconds underwater. Not sure if its the most ideal, she's just likely to be a spare character that's sitting around doing nothing otherwise. Im waiting to see her awakening but so far i am less than impressed.
