    Thanks for the great video...I really love the unique look of pallet knife paintings...I had tried to switch over to acrylics from oil but found acrylic colors disappointing...got some of your acrylics...and I really love them. Your extender works like a true medium and doesn't dull or wash the color out...the colors don't skimp on pigment and even when I thin them out with your extender they perform much like an oil would. Your red violet - wow! What a deep rich violet..I added just a touch of black and burnt sienna and make some beatiful dark shadowy violets. Finally an acrylic paint that truly performs!!!
    As for this video...I think what I was lacking was a thickening agent like you used...so often if I tried to pick up two colors with my knife and they would blend too much and I wanted that two tone swirled color...sometimes it kinda worked...but I was thinking if I could get something to add body to the paint it help keep the colors from running together more...now I know what I need!
    To the folks out there who haven't tried his line of paints - do it! Do it now!!! Its a game changer. Get his extender as well - you will be amazed...especially if you are an oil painter...There is also a medium he makes to slow down the dry time so you can blend more on the canvas...as an oil painter this was also really important because acrylics dry too damn fast and I love to work my colors on the canvas...its doesn't work obviously quite as good as oils but it definitely works much better than any other product I've tried.
    Finally completed a whole painting with just my knife a few weeks ago...Wish I had this thickener...would have helped a lot!
    Is there a place we can send our pics in of the paintings we've done with your paints? People need to see how awesome they work!

Richard is a great artist for oils and australian abstract landscapes. Great teacher as well. Thank you for sharing time, talent and good vibes. God bless.

    Great tools today, especially the extender formula. That has me so happy because my studio is an un-air conditioned loft in Fl. Gotta have a fan, but acrylics dry so fast! This will keep me painting during the summer. Blessings to you for that one and many others in this tutorial.

    Hì David, question please, As an artist of many years ago...I have used JoSonja paints , Mattise and other variations. How do these compare with Heritage paints and the different thinners ,flows mediums ect: that we was taught to use then.
    I live in Australia. can Heritage paints be purchased here.
    Your style of painting has chañged so much and feel there is so muçh more to
    learn about the paints and extenders and textures that you use.
    Nevertheless I am enjoying your videos and amazed at how much there is to learn. Thankyou Phyllis

    • @JansenArtEducation

      No I am not. I am adding Rheology Modifer which is an acrylic thickner to a tub of extender to make thicker extender. It is not water.

    Acrylic paint are drying fast. What’s the remedy of this problem.

    • @JansenArtEducation
      @JansenArtEducation  11 місяців тому +4

      There are many different types of acrylic paints, all with different working properties. With Heritage you control the drying time. Not all acrylics can do this. Modern acrylics dry slower and you control the drying time like I do in this video with the thicker extender. They stayed wet on this painting for over 4 hours.

    are you working with acrylics or oils? You do mention water so I am assuming it is acrylic. On one of your paint tubes it says mulltimedia. Is that something new? Guess I should watch a beginners video of yours where you explain the paint that you are using.
