To answer your question, no this version is nothing like their album version. This whole tiny desk concert does have some moments where they let loose and have some fun
Really? I thought out of all the songs they played at Tiny Desk this was the closest to its album version. They obviously aren't super similar but Dash is the only song that had a jazz/funk kind of feel on the album version.
@@jessicadesmarais9256 hi there. I was more meaning it was much less polished and "pop" in the live version, in my opinion, but I also can see your point.
would’ve never ever expected to see my favourite idol group on your channel, i was genuinely shocked when i saw this pop up. i’ve been following this group for a year now and can confidently say that they are the most talented female vocal group currently active in the K-Pop sphere. with that said, they really don’t get the props they deserve over in Korea, because their music is far from standard for the industry and is more on the experimental side (their ‘gimmick’ is that they switch genres in the middle of songs a lot, hence, ‘NMIXX’). but i truly think that despite their music being an acquired taste, the raw potential these girls have as singers can’t be understated. i want to highly recommend listening to the studio version of this track because, at least in my opinion, it is quite similar to this live version, it’s very funky and showcases what the group is all about. it also has some very nice vocal harmony/layering parts and sections that highlight the uniqueness of each member’s vocals. thankyou so much for covering this group, i hope to see them appear more! (i realise that you aren’t gonna get the views you’d normally get covering content like this though so it’s understandable if this is a one-off)
Thanks for the Nmixx reaction! As far as them doing live harmonies, they typically do 2 part harmonies and occasionally 3 part harmonies ( of course the recordings will have more here and there). They have also been known to do a capella as a group although I wouldn’t call them Pentatonix, they are decent at it and definitely one of the few Kpop groups to attempt it.
the changing up part is apart of their concept, their cignature. whenever they say "nmixx, change up" they change the song to a whole different one and then come back to the starter song. that's why they're called n(mix)x, because they mix 2 songs together
The original sound is very different from this version. This is my favorite band, they are incredibly talented, I recommend watching other live performances
O wow. Good on you for being open to something out of left field for a bunch of your subs lol. For info: they are kpop but have a concept that allows them to show off their vocal ability, instead of typical kpop cutesy stuff. Basically, these young ladies can actually sing instead of just being pretty. Nmixx tries to mix examples of different genres into something palatable for the Korean market. One of my favorite kpop groups along with Dreamcatcher.
Love your reaction❤❤ They are currently one of the best vocal groups in K-pop, in my opinion. They performed five songs in total, and if you're interested in hearing their harmonies, check out their first and fourth performances, "Love Me Like This" and "See That?"
this full performance is so fun, seriously. no need to know original, this all rearrange to more 'jazzy' (i think) :D i think, jazz more bigger in japan, so normally k-pop not do that (not so big market in south korea). as i saw in k-pop (especially marketing direction) they lead by trend, so mostly they make music on focus 'to be trend' in a very short time. (super super impact to get attention, like 'in your face' kind of song) don't say good or bad, just the way it is, and everything have 2 sides (at least) with pros & cons, so don't hope to high. but for MNIXX, i feel like they try to do something new to their music, like try to make a new genre, and i love experimental music. even for 'experimental music' some time it's work, sometime it's not, but can not denied NMIXX's vocal talents, they are so good. have a good day. :)
This song goes hard in the original version too. The chords are the same but more synthetic sounding, they have amazing songs with "strange" figures and scales, very unique kind of group that I love a lot. Their voices are the best too ❤ BUT it's very different from the original, Tiny Desk version is just pure gold
Hi Dave Morgan! WTF?! This came up on my algo this morning. You've been doing reactions for years it seems. I first listened to Kpop like 7 years ago and got sucked in. Maybe not so much lately as before, the songs are so much more harmonically interesting than western pop. Genre bending. Y'all, I went to high school with Dave and the first thing that always comes to mind is he was a uber talented musician. Like really. Glad to see you still have music in your blood. Mentoring young musicians is rad! I actually like NMIXX, so talented, and their music is different, especially the switch ups. They also practice dancing while singing. Kpop groups film dance "practice" videos, FYI. Lemme know if you need some suggestions on other songs. The Kpop fans will find you if you continue down the rabbit hole.

You need to watch the full video to really get immersed in their captivating energy, stunning vocals and brilliant music.

NMIXX is the best! Talented, versatile, and genuinely fun to watch.

Although the recording of Dash sounds different than this version, it also sounds funky and is worth a listen.
NMIXX best of the best ❤Please more reactions ❤

I really recommend watching the whole thing, especially the first song and the last song. The last one is not Jazz, but still it’s amazing.
