hello great video! But the part I really need to know is, am I required to sign section 7 just to change the address on my driver's license? and I don't want to change photos, so there is no need to send photos?
I have mislaid my full driving licence in my flat. Put it somewhere safe. Can't find it.
How do I replace it? Need to go on a speed awareness course and my driving licence is my only photo id. They need to see the original document.

HELP! The Dvla requires I have a passport in my new name to change my name on my license. The Passport Office requires I have proof of use of my new name before I can apply for a new passport. My bank wants government issued photo ID in my new name before I can change my name with them. I need Bank statements/letters as proof of usage of the new name. Nothing makes sense!!!
The first part of your statement is incorrect. Only online. You have to get the D1 form to change your name

It sounds like you haven’t got the D1 form. Get that first. Then you’ll have no more questions. With that, the guide and this video you’ll be sorted

Title will be part of a name change so fill that section out. So this video is perfect for you!

Send it back with a covering letter. This a massive mistake. Contemplate making a complaint. This should not happen and you should not be charged for the correction

Hi, I wonder if you could help me please. I did a change of surname and address by sending a D1 form, however they have returned it without changing any of my details because “you haven't included evidence of your name change” however I did, I gave them my passport number as stated on pages 5 & 10 of the “how to” leaflet that comes with the D1. It clearly states that for a name change you can give your passport number instead of sending any documents. It also states this again on section 5 of the D1 form itself. On calling them they told me I was wrong, even though I talked them through the leaflet (call handler had a leaflet to hand) and section 5 of the form itself as proof. I cannot send my original documents as I only have 1 of 1 original which is irreplaceable and will not be posting it. I paid £300 for a face to face passport appointment (in which I handed them the original myself and they gave it straight back to me) specifically so that I could give DVLA my passport number for the name change without the need to send my original. What should I do?
You have to send the original. It’s scary. But you can do it!
I genuinely cant. If they lose it its gone forever with no way to get a replacement. Guess I’ll have to keep my old name that I don't use on my driving license or just jeep posting it back until they change it.

To update name, we need to send original deed poll certificate only or we should send orginal passport too ? And what about the photo in the form if we dont want to change the photo on the dvla card.
This is two different questions.
Photo. If you have a valid uk passport then just do the online photo change
Name. Use the d1 to change name and inclose the original deed poll certificate
Please watch the other videos for help but it’s an ok process. Just take your time.

How can I exchange my provisional license with full driving license upon passing the driving test? My name was incorrect when booking the test and therefore the examiner returned my provisional license and asked me to apply for exchange. Any thoughts will be appreciated, thanks
I would ask at the test centre. It’s not something that can be done with the D1 form

Did you hear back from them yet? My understanding is that if you don’t send your licence with the origional application they won’t process it. As long as your licence was in date when you sent it, you can drive without having it on you in the U.K. just take a photo of it
