This video feels so lonely, you can really feel how alone she is in this relationship and I believe they wanted us to feel this way intentionally. Honestly love it, it completes the song in a way. I think I finally understand the meaning of this video. SZA’s album is named CTRL. The CTRL key when pressed with another key performs a special function. When pressed alone it usually serves little to no function. SZA is so dependent on the weekend so she can be with used (Ctrl + “?” ) the way she was meant to be used with that one special guy. She’s going through various glitches in anticipation of the Weekend. I’m just spit balling but her other videos seem to share a keyboard function like theme as well...

Y’all really just have no artistic sense. Anyone can make some overtly sexual play by play of the lyrics of the song but at least SZA and Solange have a bit of courage to try something else
It’s pretty clear that the theme of the video is loneliness. All of the shots are cold and empty with SZA dancing on one side. That accentuates the emptiness of the already industrial setting. I also think it’s intentional that she looks a little silly dancing in a parking garage in a leotard and 6 inch heels. The song is about being a side chick, which is silly and unfulfilling if you ultimately want a relationship. Notice how there’s no one else in the video but her. She’s performing an exaggerated femininity/sexuality for no one because ultimately she’s alone. Also there are those segments that are just replays, kind of like doing the same thing over and over again and looking dumb in the process, particularly in the shot of her dancing in the checkerboard (what do you do on a checkerboard? Play a game/make a limited set of moves on the board ad infinitum)
