I watched this run at SGDQ in 2013 with my friend. This level has a special place in my heart especially when the music starts playing. It was the last moment I got to share with my best friend, someone I loved a whole lot before they passed away from complications with their liver. Wherever you are Mary, I'm still holding out. It's not easy every day has its own challenges but I'm still here like you told me to be. I hope you're looking down or looking up on me and aren't too disappointed with what I've done with myself.
im so happy to see that people are passionate enough to still make runs of this game. this is one of my favorite games ever and i've recently returned it. i think it aged very well, and i would hate to see it be forgotten. amazing run by the way.
28:54 A man/woman tried to [event], this is what happened to his [organ] 29:04 [initials] is a [age] year old man/woman presenting to the emergency room [state] 27:57 alternative start or deterioration of persons health 26:39 ...as he/she calls for 911 and is brought to the emergency room where we are now 20:03 some critical shit about to go down 26:13 with supportive care from his/her friends and family he/she was able to make a (full) recovery
wow man idk if youre still running this but i hope you are! i wish this game got more attention in the speedrunning community, if only they didnt make so many nintendo games XD
My favorite moments of this are when hes like "oops, missed a spot" and has to take a moment to fix it. Its technically a mistake but it shows how quickly he can adapt to changes in the game and its not all just memorized
I always thought this game was a fever dream, I couldn’t tell if it was real or not, but as of today, I found it in my recommended, and it was indeed, not a dream.
Core Temple, I 'OHH'd a few times, but yeah very tight gameplay. I feel like runs of this game are still in an early stage. It takes so long to get really good at, yet there is still so far to go. It's so easy to make a million mistakes. Either way it's great to see you pushing the envelope Xiamul.
Yeah, the Core Temple deaths were rather unfortunate. First death was undeniably a choke, while the second is just the nature of the level being so difficult and requiring some tight movements at certain points, which I didn't execute. I definitely agree that there is still so far to go in terms of optimization with SS All Levels (Any% All Levels [NG+] is at a point where I feel it can be considered optimized, however, I'll need to return to the category to really form an observation. 16 Red Keys is also optimized, with less than 20 seconds of timeloss from deaths). With that being said, I don't think it can be said that runs are in "an early stage." This game is approaching its 6th anniversary, and competitive play has been at its core for the majority of that time. I do concede that it might not be fully appropriate to discount your point with the game's age alone, but the competitive aspect surrounding it for its entire lifespan has bred a devoted community, so I personally feel it is fair to say that Dustforce runs have been developing steadily for at least 5 years. I wouldn't think that could be considered an early stage. Yeah, the entire run is prone to being littered with mistakes. It's certainly an unrelenting experience.
Just picked it up and was excited to try it but the controls just feel awful. The character is so slow and hard to move around, idk if it's worth continuing cuz it's so frustrating just moving around the tutorial levels
@@aidangillard2041 for what it's worth, I believe most players are playing on DustMod now, which is Dustforce DX with a lot of upgrades to menus and loading. The controls are still not AS responsive as something like Celeste and offer a lot of buffering options, but they're definitely much better than the base game. Hope that helps :)
While "possible", I can't think of anyone who is currently-- or would become-- capable of achieving such a time. Sub-51 is already what I would consider a really good run and I can't imagine I'd be dissatisfied with it.
It's cool but for someone who doesn't do speedruns, the slow run speed and awkward aerial momentum in this game are a huge huge turnoff. Makes moving around the levels at first feel extremely clunky and infuriatingly unsatisfying
A person had to play dustforce for thousands of hours. This is what happened to their brain.
Had to?
Presenting to the emergency room...
The soundtrack from Dustforce is pure art. Beautiful music.
GF is reporting to the emergency room having suffered 4 seizures...
The artist is Lifeformed. Check them out, they've made soundtracks to other games like Tunic.
The whole game is ART
I can't stop thinking abt chubbyemu's vids while watching this bc of the music
45:00 is what chubbyemu fans are here for
A man ate Europe. This is what happened to the US.

Best platforming game ever. Period.

This changed Dr. Bernard's life.
love still seeing people run this
I reckon this game has one of the best ost.
Fun Fact: This was one of the first games made by Matt Bush. Person who later founded his own studio called Sorath to develop Devil Daggers.
Interesting, this probably explains why Hitbox Team never released another game. The developers moved on to other projects/studios
looks like a certain medical youtuber liked this game very much
I like to imagine these are the guys who clean levels for before someone plays em
I understand that one room/trophy in tunic so much more now.

underrated game
Well done!
😍 why have I never seen this game before
yeah, most platformers went under the radar back then

Still WR damn
its 2020 i want my dust force on nintendo switch now!
So sub-50 is possible. Anyway, great run.
Also, Dustforce is a great example of a speedrunning-focused game done right.

Reminds me of classic Sonic the way you use slopes
