Those signs at the end of the trail would've been an epic thumbnail ! Nice driving skills Timmy .
I’m here to say that crocs really are an underrated “Jack of all trades” shoe! 😆
Timmy.. Stay dry holmes. its raining. .. Merry christmas !! Thanks for getting us through covid yo.. I'll send some dough through paypal for gas..
That sign at the end was crazy! Got a good laugh out of that one! Tacos, a white claw and the solitide of your oun desert sunset after 4 wheelin. That's a good life!
Your stairs are by far my most favorite access method from any build I've seen so far. Its just looks so good
Thanks man, yup I love em, designed then to go up and down super easy and quick;)
" I used to not like white claws, then a few weeks ago I decided, eh , there not that bad" lmaooo same here , same here
Timmy am thankful the Holidays have come & gone & seeing this January 23rd & your away from your latest sand adventure on the Road Again. Day ago I was at -4.7' degree's & snow so looking forward to Spring anytime! LOL Take Care, Always, Tommy :-)
I have the same truck (1997 CC, LB, 4x4, 7.3, etc). It absolutely sucks in the sand if the bed is empty/light. Just plows with the front end and won't go anywhere but straight down. However, it goes really really well in the sand (even flour sand) when I have my 4500# slide in camper in the bed while pulling a 6000# 16'x8.5' cargo behind.
Wow! I've got a 3600# Bigfoot TC in the bed of my 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500HD Duramax diesel dually. Some of the gnarly roads you were on today reminds me of stuff I see now and then as well. My turf is also the desert southwest. I would not have guessed it would do so well on sand with such a heavy load. In case my truck ever gets stuck, my Plan B is a Honda XRF250L dual-sport on a rack up front. I also have a 16'x8' cargo trailer I tow around periodically...no way I'd take it on such roads though. Good info, bro.
Wow. Great video! Glad you enjoyed the tacos from that place in Twentynine Palms!
Wow Tim is it really 100 degrees there in December still that’s crazy…. I’ve never been down that far southwest… hope you can come explore Florida sometime
You’d love the Everglades
I sure enjoy your adventures and the views you show. See ya down the road. Merry Christmas!!!🌲
He Timmy, good days for you.. tkx for taking me along on your adventure much obliged..
May 2022 give health and more adventure...
Stay safe
Grtz from holland
Wishing you a very merry Christmas and a Happy New year also drive safely 😊 ☺
Dare I say, your channel has snuck in as an underrated mvp for this year. Good work man. Keep it up! 🍾
I need to record more. 🤣
Be fun to see the old Ford on the trails without the camper on back! Cheer's
Merry Christmas Timmy! Fun times. Rock climbing in crocs.😂🎅
Watching this was nerve wracking. I thought you were going to tip over in the first video. I had to pour myself a drink just to get through watching this series. Don't do this again!!!! My heart can't take it. lol
Hey Timmy, I have the exact same Dometic fridge in my 2001 CRV camper set up and love it. Am full time traveler-overloader for three years in my First Gen RD1 CRV and been following Phil, Brian and you for insight and inspiration all the way. THANKS 😎❣🌎
Man how do you do it in a CRV?? Lol I'm turning my 03 explorer into a car camper and never seem to have enough room. Just have a 18cu in rooftop currently.
Less is more....heh heh. Actually the set up i have is quite comfy as I am 5'3 and have been modifying my rig as I was overlanding last summer. Replaced entire suspension last spring including all the axles, struts and everything that had rubber including the trailing arm bushings......Then built a roof rack for all my back country equipment. The great thing about the little RD 1 is it is sooooo reliable and will go anywhere and get you out no problem. I have had every flavor of 4×4 in my past and hands down this is the best little runner yet. Cheers, Happy Holidays and a peaceful New Year. 🤓
I'm going to drive out there for a couple nights soon - Merry Christmas!!
Deserts have always scared me!! 🌵 🌵🌵🌵
I don’t remember any good Mexican food when I was stationed at Elmendorf AFB. Chi-chi’s is all we had I think.
Like driving in a foot plus of snow at 40+mph. Nice job keeping it from rolling in the sand. I'd pay for insurance that covers the house. If you aren't already. Worth it.
❤ Just when we're starting to think we wouldn't get any more grey hairs from watching your content. We have go buy some color from the store to hide them. 🤣
Those camp sites look like something from a Flintstone cartoon. Wild!
Merry Christmas
Mark (& Teresa)
Thank goodness you made it. Enjoy the boulders and Joshua trees. Merry Christmas, safe travels to Alaska.
Thank you for posting another fine Truck House Life Show... Merry Christmas and keep posting there Timmy thumb up.
That's one tough camper build. Nece Florida Joe.
Timmy, Had to watch your adventure again this Christmas morning before anyone is awake. Hope your enjoying the holiday with family and friends. Remember the reason for the season. Ride on.
Snakes were definitely my first thought when I saw you climbing that rock. I stayed at the city of rocks in New Mexico once and snakes were absolutely on my mind as I camped overnight there.
Awesome and nerve wracking at times...🇺🇾👌
That was fun to see your trip over the Gold Crown Road through the Old Dale mining district. The road used to be a fairly easy 2wd road - to include up through the Pinto Basin where you now encountered all that sand. The worst part was the last 50 yards before you intercepted the paved road through the park. Drive all that way from highway 62 in a 1964 VW van only to get stuck in the sand within feet of pavement. There was solution to it that the NPS would highly frown on....
Ok, you lost me now. White Claw? My nephew drinks those darn things. Had a few choice words for him. But to each their own!
After roads like that...my silverware in my camper used to flip out of the drawer and become stuck/hidden on top of the water heater and behind the sink. Learned to stuff a dishtowel in there. Safe travels and thanks for the ride-a-long.
Shoot - Dang - Dig it for sure ! , thanks .... crocs are made for rocks ~peace~
Awesome, that sand is just getting you primed for drifting in the snow back home, lol. Crazy how it’s like it sucks you in eh. And too funny,I was just taking a sip of the first one in ages when you said adult beverages, lol.
Merry Christmas and cheers from Eastern Canada!
Enjoy!!!
Could you bust out that banjo again sometime and play us a little tune? keep it up!👍
I stayed there, it’s like being in the Flinnstones.
And I think the good thing is you didn’t have to pay entrance fee thru the back door !!!
Take care of Tim I enjoyed watching that video both of them
I love the life you’re living, thanks for taking us along.
Wowza....love it !
Good job 4x4 on those roads. My backyard trails. If you are still around I can show you pictographs and old Japanese camps from world War 2 era.
Merry Christmas Timmy! Did you just dis Taco King in that video? uh oh.....
Drop that pressure to 15 and it’ll float on the sand. 40 is highway pressure on sand.
@@TruckHouseLife I’m a 1 ton diesel 4x4 van and run that no problem. I pull people from the sand on the beach at that pressure with no issues either. I wouldn’t run that on the rocky trail portion but on the flat it should work. We air duallies and fifth wheels down to 10 all the time. Be worth some experimentation when you have some company with you. Thanks for the content, though. Old Dale road is on our list.
Very nice video. Looks like your out there having a blast. Merry Christmas!
God Jul to you Timmy!! Happy holidays! I'm glad you were digging on Joshua Tree, told you it would kind of blow your mind, it was good to see my old stomping ground, one of these coolest parks, but yep it has gotten real touristy over the decades. I hung out in the 80's. High five on those sketchy parts, but you made it and I share your rush. Be good, savor the holidays my friend. Thank you for all your videos and for sharing your journey with the world 🌎.
always enjoy smashing that LIKE Button!
Thanks for sharing Old Dale Road, now I know what I'm in for. Those great looking campsites in Joshua Tree NP are never worth it, though, unless the campground is basically empty. Hopefully you found a good, free (or cheap) QUIETER place to spend Xmas Eve.
Peace, out!
Very good
I see you had your special climbing crocs on for that rock climb! :)
For deep sand you could probably take those tires down to 25 psi, for more traction.
Came to say the same thing. I spent years running much deeper sand on the NC Outer Banks. The best way to get stuck was to have your tires above 30psi. I would generally run in the upper teens. Go as low as you can without throwing the bead. Your whole drivetrain will thank you for it and you'll find it's much easier too. Stopping and starting again becomes a non-issue.
@@chrisc738 I rode a Huffy 10 speed bicycle from Ft. Bragg to the Outer Banks and back while with the 82nd Airborne, and on leave. Very cool place and friendly people. I had "neighbors" who treated me to a couple meals, and another stranger who bought me breakfast. Born and raised on the Oregon Coast in an area famous for it's sand dunes, and dune buggies. I used that trick one time when stuck in the sand in a Chevy Nova at a Ft. Bragg Drop Zone. Even works in 2WD.
I did the same back in the eighties. Absolute necessity is to have a hydraulic four wheel brake lock. Problem is when you have to stop and evaluate the situation while engine is running the rear wheels alone can't hold rig on hill.
Love me some Old Dale! Nice work. I have a video exploring farther back into some of the mines on my channel but much easier in an Fj with no camper haha
Merry Christmas, I forgot if this is in real time, but probably not, cuz it’s raining there today. And a whole new set of problems would present itself.
That was sick. Good vidya.
Really like your rig, been following since you this last year from Alaska when you showed off your build. Got a '96 7.3 PSD F250 4x4 SC all stock that I load my '78 Lance 11.3 on. There's no way I'd go down those roads. However, I tow an IH '65 Scout to explore the knarly trails. Being out here exploring the western US, BLM camping plus, I use an app to search for free comping in the USF. I'm a taco guy to and south western US little hole in the wall Mexican food stands are the best....
What app are you using for identifying public lands? I usually stop at the nearest public lands office to get oriented to a new area. But I'd prefer to have an app.
Wow, you came in a hard way for sure hhahaha. I saw your truck house in JT, fun to see this video now. Stay safe from Indian Cove/ JT.
I love good road trips! it surely is fun!
I gotta check out how you attached your camper. I know, with my palomino truck camper and the torklift fastgun tiedowns, they would not have held up as well with all those bumps. That is why I have to drop my camper when I go on those type of 4x4 roads. It would be nice not to have to.
@@TruckHouseLife I have a mat too. Do you have a video of how it's connected to the bed?
heh... where are we now??? lol SW desert near NM border? right at home! California? Joshua Tree Nat. Park???
my mum, icon pix, when young, drove on the old wooden road across the sand dunes, in the one of these deserts, got a picture of it, old postcard from ebay. she actually drove it, drivers often had to use a shovel to dig out the plank road floating on the sand...
Best Mexican food joint (fast food Albertos type). In CA. But a single family owned non chain restaurant is;
Juanitas.
PCH.
Encinitas, CA.
San Diego County.
Lived in Encinitas (Leucadia in 2004-7) for 3 years. But grew up with NY pizza until I was 30.
I really enjoyed watching your adventures hope you have a great holiday season stay safe out there
Gottta climb those rocks to catch that view!
7.3 Magic!
and he is doing it all in crocs lol
don't miss the Painted Desert...!
You still near landers California,,,look up giant rock pretty cool and easy to get to 👍👊
Good times
Nice rig, but I definitely would come up with something different for off-roading
Merry Christmas. We don´t have those kind offroads in The Netherlands 🙁
I've encountered a few Dutch tourists out in the boonies of the US southwest in their RV's. I remember one time in an RV campground near the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, it seemed about the only language I didn't hear being spoken there was English. ;)
@@docholiday7758 You are lucky we didn't stay in the V.S.. In 1664 we changed Nieuw-Nederland (New York) for Suriname. Otherwise you would have spoken Dutch now......
@@jacques8393 I lived in Den Haag for a couple of years. I'll tell ya, Dutch is a difficult language to learn. Unless pronounced almost perfectly the locals didn't understand a bloody thing I said. And to rub it in, they would usually reply in better English than my own. I'd starve to death if I had to speak Dutch. Tot ziens! lol
Tacos are the world most perfect food...never had a white claw...plenty of white Russia is though..lol.Merry Christmas Timmy..are you in Ga?
Boulder piles (for boudering) get bigger as you get towards the Mexican border. Thousands of them in San Diego County.
That campground at the end is the one I stayed in. I get camping half price though because I'm a disabled veteran. It was not worth it. The dumbstruck came tearing through there before 7am dumping the trash. Also, the coyotes were rooting around all night and my dog was not happy.
I’m a desert guy. Deadman bury your tire standing up with which hook attached it will get you out.
Girdwood man, I lived in g wood for a year, now I'm In Anchorage.. you are in my neck of the world now, I grew up in San Diego. I'm an eagle scout so I know the southwest like the back of my hand. Did you find the apartment carved into that boulder there in Joshua tree?
7.3 oh yeah
Timmy should talk to the BLM. And Forest Service about where washouts are. New Infrastructure bill might cover repairs.
Merry Christmas timmy
@@TruckHouseLife you too bud keep being you. I look forward to seeing what kind of adventure you'll partake in next.
Another good video, Are you going to be going to the Truck Camper Rally in Quartzite, Arizona this coming Feb. 2021?
Epic
From which country bro,
Lots of love from Nagaland northeast India and happy merry Christmas.... 🎄⛄🎄
9:10 if Timmy had a flat tire, it would be dizaster.
You're my soulmate..lol
That 7.3 is a beast! She’s gotten you through a lot of shtuff. Driving experience doesn’t hurt either.
