Is there a way to invert this? Or make parts of the layer that don't match with the blend texture dissappear?
I have a layer that's slightly bigger than the blend texture so when the x-ray sprite goes over part of the layer, regularly it just shows the blend texture as well as part of the layer that overlaps the blend texture. But I need the part of the texture that's overlapping to disappear with the rest of the layer when the x-ray sprite goes over it

Thanks for these tutorials. This problem in particular has been maddening. Regarding the opacity though - couldn't you just add an opacity mask to the entire composition then put all of your other effects on top of the opacity effect (or below it in the list, I suppose)?

i havnt actualy used wallpaper engine in probably close to a year and a half at this point so im not entirely sure. but back when i did im pretty sure adding an opacity effect in the way your describing would lock the entire object as that opacity which would prevent other layers from being able to go beyond the border of that opacity

Love your work and the effort you put into it! Thanks! How do you decide which character and image you'll work on next?

Its a mix of just randomly searching for images that fit what i can work with and watching the few artists i follow for their new works to see if i can use them

you can make a better fix by using your cutout and making the opacity mask in photoshop. Since you can import a texture as the opacity mask it will be a lot better than redoing it. Maybe you can even x-ray the opacity mask(if you can use a render target as a mask) to get rid of any bluing of parts that show up outside the initial cutout.

oh thats a good idea ill give it a try, assuming it works the only thing i could see going wrong is using a large or full size mask could take up unnecessary video memeory but ill have to try it to be sure. Thanks!

how can i remove the ugly water mark on my image from Wallpaper engine i cant finde it in the date the image just pgk but i cat open it. i just wana remove the ugly water mark D: wehre all the images saved- and how can i open it. ?

That depends on what the watermark is, wallpaper engine shouldn't add any watermarks. If its the artists watermark ideally you shouldn't remove it but if you wanted to you can in photoshop. If its your wallpaper you can just remove it off the image you used, if its a wallpaper you got off the workshop You would need to find a .pkg extractor to uncompress the wallpaper package. I dont have any links to any of those but if you google "wallpaper engine decompress .pkg" you should find something. Once its decompressed you can open the project in the editor and hope that you can export the image. It doesnt always work though.

Has anyone figured out how to remove pixels from the main layer, when you view the X-ray? The only thing I can think to do is to clone stamp from the background layer onto the X-ray layer so that the original layer is effectively hidden when viewing the X-ray. For example, if the character in the main layer is wearing a swimsuit and a coverup; and the X-ray is just wearing the swimsuit.. how do you remove the coverup when viewing the X-ray? Thanks!

The physically adding a background into your xray like you described is pretty much what i would suggest, i dont know of any better way of doing it. Iv tried in the past to xray to a blank image and to a blank composition layer to see if you could have something xray to nothing but that doesnt work it just breaks the xray effect

Hello Vell, I’ve experimented much since I asked this question and I had an epiphany. I was never able to make my character move and use the comp layer.. But I did find a way to achieve the desired results using Photoshop. I'd love to add you as a contributor to the guide I published. Thanks again for your inspiration :)
