I think your content is evolving in the same way you are, we're starting to see your interests as a grown up and your calm, animal-loving, and slow-living lifestyle. At first I felt I couldn't relate because my life is hectic as hell and your life is portrayed as calm and simple, but then your videos started to bring me calm and made me feel more grounded after watching your new content. I think as long as you keep posting as authentic as you are, your new and old viewers will learn to love your content again and again. Do not give in just because you're not out here for the meaningless views, the clickbait, and the drama. Thank you for being who you are, at all times. The part about toxic family members and wanting them to change really hit home with me when you talked about it. It’s draining to want to change another person when the person in question don’t want to/try.
@Grabastick I agree that it really is draining! Rather than keep trying, I would say to stop having expectations and create boundaries. Realistically, most people won’t change so you gotta prioritize yourself first and just move out. If you keep allowing that toxic family member to mistreat you, then that’s just you disrespecting yourself as well as encouraging them. I am sorry you are going through that but be brave and act for yourself. You got this even when you think that you don’t!!!
Weylie, I have been a long time, silent, follower. I felt like I have grown up with you. I went through relationships, school, friendships, etc with you. I hope you know that you resonate most with me because of your upbringing, your background, and so much more. I have been able to relate to you on so many levels. For example being Chinese and growing up with a mom who cooked mostly Viet food because of where they grew up. I always felt so different. So out of place. Once I let go of my expectations for people, even if it was for them to be kinder & more compassionate, I felt better. Holding onto the hope that toxic people will change will drain you emotionally and sets you up for hard disappointment. Once I understood that, I realized that when toxic/abusive people hurt me, it has NOTHING to do with me. Learning to not take things personally really lifted me and brought me peace and enlightenment. 🙏🏻

oh god i have a bad toxic family especially my sister and mother , I've endured it for so many years, it drives me crazy.. i got mentally ill because of all this stress (anxiety ). We already have enough stress in life and if your own family is also stressed that s the worst thing . I thought, like you, that they would change and so on and that we have a better relationship, but they never will.thats just wishes wishes wishes. No matter how good you are, it doesn't work. I speak from experience. distance is the best methode . its crazy .. glad that you speak about so important Life issues.

Weylie, I can imagine that it's so difficult to put time and energy into a video and then see declining views or followers. But I hope you know that your core audience and followers that love you and engage with you are here to stay. Be kind to yourself, and know that a lot of us have been and will be here through all of your life changes! On the topic of jealousy - I admittedly get jealous of successful content creators (even those I love like Weylie), because they can make a real career out of sharing parts of their lives. Logically I know that it comes with its own hardships (which is clear from this video too), and I also know that it comes from wishing I was happier in my own career while I only have time to make videos for fun
I’m glad you mentioned the UA-cam views bc I noticed that too. I think one issue is the lack of uploading and lack of consistency. There could be more vlogs, more what I eat in the day, how to buy a house, or decor related stuff. And some of the videos are kind of…random? Like the sticker collection or camping in your backyard. I don’t like to compare but someone like Jenn Im has a regular posting schedule and people look forward to them. And the videos are varied but also responsive to what people are interested in. Or someone like Sophie, who doesn’t post as much but her vids are more in depth. One or the other might help. People enjoy your vids but they don’t happen enough and could have more content.

As a long-time youtube watcher (I subscribed to you when you first made the tampon video, I think LOL), I will say who I subscribe to and whose videos I choose to watch has nothing to do with the UA-camr. It has more to do with what season of my life I am in. At one time, I loved family vlogs because I want to have a family and it made me happy to see families interacting. But for the past couple of years, I have stopped watching those people and I mainly watch channels like yours and Sophie's - videos that show 20 somethings grinding it out, trying to push through. Your videos speak more to me than family vlogs do at this current stage of my life. It does not mean the family vlogs are wack and irrelevant, it just means that they do not speak to who I am at this moment. I hope that gives some insight into a subscriber's mind!
Girll. I used to watch your videos when I was living back home and now I moved 8 hrs away (by plane) and I’m living a busier life in uni but I still come back to watch your videos because it comforts me. I may not have as much time anymore like I used to so it is not the first thing I do when I get home. I feel like a lot of your viewers are like this too. We have grown up and have busier life. It’s nothing related to you or your content but more with us and our hectic schedules.

@Grabastick I agree that it really is draining! Rather than keep trying, I would say to stop having expectations and create boundaries. Realistically, most people won’t change so you gotta prioritize yourself first and just move out. If you keep allowing that toxic family member to mistreat you, then that’s just you disrespecting yourself as well as encouraging them. I am sorry you are going through that but be brave and act for yourself. You got this even when you think that you don’t!!!

I have been a long time, silent, follower. I felt like I have grown up with you. I went through relationships, school, friendships, etc with you. I hope you know that you resonate most with me because of your upbringing, your background, and so much more. I have been able to relate to you on so many levels. For example being Chinese and growing up with a mom who cooked mostly Viet food because of where they grew up. I always felt so different. So out of place. And then years ago you showed me that someone else did grow up the way I did. I love everything about you, your attitude, and your relationship with Wah and yourself. Once I let go of my expectations for people, even if it was for them to be kinder & more compassionate, I felt better. Holding onto the hope that toxic people will change will drain you emotionally and sets you up for hard disappointment. Once I understood that, I realized that when toxic/abusive people hurt me, it has NOTHING to do with me. Learning to not take things personally really lifted me and brought me peace and enlightenment. 🙏🏻

oh god i have a bad toxic family especially my sister and mother , I've endured it for so many years, it drives me crazy.. i got mentally ill because of all this stress (anxiety ). We already have enough stress in life and if your own family is also stressed that s the worst thing . I thought, like you, that they would change and so on and that we have a better relationship, but they never will.thats just wishes wishes wishes. No matter how good you are, it doesn't work. I speak from experience. distance is the best methode . its crazy .. glad that you speak about so important Life issues.

Weylie, I can imagine that it's so difficult to put time and energy into a video and then see declining views or followers. But I hope you know that your core audience and followers that love you and engage with you are here to stay. Be kind to yourself, and know that a lot of us have been and will be here through all of your life changes!
On the topic of jealousy - I admittedly get jealous of successful content creators (even those I love like Weylie), because they can make a real career out of sharing parts of their lives. Logically I know that it comes with its own hardships (which is clear from this video too), and I also know that it comes from wishing I was happier in my own career while I only have time to make videos for fun
I’m glad you mentioned the UA-cam views bc I noticed that too. I think one issue is the lack of uploading and lack of consistency. There could be more vlogs, more what I eat in the day, how to buy a house, or decor related stuff. And some of the videos are kind of…random? Like the sticker collection or camping in your backyard. I don’t like to compare but someone like Jenn Im has a regular posting schedule and people look forward to them. And the videos are varied but also responsive to what people are interested in. Or someone like Sophie, who doesn’t post as much but her vids are more in depth. One or the other might help. People enjoy your vids but they don’t happen enough and could have more content.

As a long-time youtube watcher (I subscribed to you when you first made the tampon video, I think LOL), I will say who I subscribe to and whose videos I choose to watch has nothing to do with the UA-camr. It has more to do with what season of my life I am in. At one time, I loved family vlogs because I want to have a family and it made me happy to see families interacting. But for the past couple of years, I have stopped watching those people and I mainly watch channels like yours and Sophie's - videos that show 20 somethings grinding it out, trying to push through. Your videos speak more to me than family vlogs do at this current stage of my life. It does not mean the family vlogs are wack and irrelevant, it just means that they do not speak to who I am at this moment. I hope that gives some insight into a subscriber's mind!

I used to watch your videos when I was living back home and now I moved 8 hrs away (by plane) and I’m living a busier life in uni but I still come back to watch your videos because it comforts me. I may not have as much time anymore like I used to so it is not the first thing I do when I get home. I feel like a lot of your viewers are like this too. We have grown up and have busier life. It’s nothing related to you or your content but more with us and our hectic schedules.
