It's a fun aphorism, and slander is generally unnecessary, though Shakespeare also ably demonstrated that mockery is a useful tool when obstinance, obsequiousness, and cultish behavior rise in the zeitgeist. People do have a reason to be angry that the anti-intellectual demagogue with the curiosity of a nematode was elected, not least for the caging of innocent children, the inculcation of xenophobia and the absence of pluralistic thinking, the cowing before other authoritarian leaders who praise him, and the encouragement of an insurrection during our sacred electoral process.

the most dramatic and devastated people in a discord server i'm in in response to the election were not poor or struggling people. they were: 1) a girl who talks about attending shows and concerts literally every week even though she's constantly starting and quitting jobs monthly, 2) a girl who is self-employed yet who regularly travels across the country and recently even out of the country, 3) a girl who has her own home, is married and is able to pay for regular therapy. i'm not even doing badly myself but i still could not afford these people's lifestyles and habits, and so it has never been more clear to me than this election cycle that social justice really is the cause of privileged champagne socialists who still live propped up above their parents' safety net. just as out-of-touch as their party leaders.
Just like the loudest leftists were not poor people but people that took huge college loans and want loan forgiveness. I support allowing loans to be dischargeable in bankruptcy court as they were prior to 1998 or allowing the judges to stop interest accrual and allow the borrower repay principal only after 10 years of repayment.
YEP same for my discord server it’s either older women who aren’t married and won’t have kids or young girls who are doing just fine either have a boyfriend or still get money from parents when they need it and they have a healthy savings account we are not the same.

I can't stand Trump, but like most other people I can't stand DEI, wokeness and cancel culture either. Besides that, the elites misread the room because they wouldn't notice it if food prices tripled. Even if you're not poor, you want to see better economic conditions. I own my house and don't live paycheck to paycheck, but even middle class people get nervous when groceries go up 30-50% in just a few years. That's not sustainable.
Yes, the claim that 'Inflation is down to 2.5% now' ignores that inflation is cumulative. It compounds. Food inflation for years had been less than 2%, and in several years less than 1%. But when it hit 10.3% in one year (and that's using the dodgy method that understates it), that increase doesn't go away.
True. Just retired. Felt quite confident about maintaining a liveable, but not extravagant, existent. Even have a bit of a buffer if the stock market drops. So glad to see a young Asian American woman from the Bay Area speak facts. I voted for Trump not for personality but bc his policies are better. Kamala’s ideas just suck. Taxing unrealized capital gains for example. But I try to avoid talking politics at work cuz everyone else are just democrats and you are considered crazy if you vote for trump
Seconded @Littletooth and I will take it a step further. The proposed taxation on unrealized capital gains is intended for the 100 mil networth bracket, sounds good on paper for reducing our debt deficit until you start to question what happens when said proposition trickles down the lower tax brackets. Seeing the track record of how the US implements "sounds good on paper" but terrible in execution policies such as Obamacare, I think our skepticism for Kamala's (thankfully just proposed) policies are fairly well justified.
As an Asian, I have parents who sometimes say mean things, but act the opposite. That's how I view Trump, and I don't mind his mean rhetoric because most of wat he says is an exaggeration of how he really feels about issues. My first vote was for Trump in 2016, and I could feel the heat from people around me. Things are a lot different now because people have accepted that majority is picking Trump because he delivered in his first term.

One important thing to remember about Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs is that self-actualization, self-esteem, and love and belonging often feed back on the more fundamental needs. A society which retains moral leadership, human rights, democratic norms, and empathy for the scope of the human condition is more likely to be successful in other categories as well; on the flip side, you can often judge a society on the basis of how it treats its most marginalized. A brief read of history tells us the story of how demagogues in the past have used immediate economic needs, xenophobia, and nationalist sentiment to get people to vote for them and give narcissists and psychopaths the power they desire. They step in at the end of the Roman Republic, at the crisis point of Weimar Germany, at the anger and fear following the terror of the French Revolution. this is also one of the reason women tend to vote more liberal then men, is that in the current cultural climate, there is a lot more social support for women compared to men. subsidies, hiring quotas, divorce and alimony laws, there is a lot more safety nets for women compared to if a guy goes broke, he usually is on the streets. this isn't to say we should get rid of these social nets, but its really telling that a lot of men who often are working paycheck to paycheck in generally more physically demanding jobs voted so red compared to last election

Identity politics plays a huge role in why the democrats lost.
Identity politics is just a post civil rights movement form of bigotry that evolved from the Democratic Party's racist past to keep people in chains.

Just point them to Trump's website and have them watch all of his videos breaking down each of his policies in Agenda 47. Also, have them look up "Art of the Surge." It's a brand new free docuseries showing the behind-the-scenes of his campaign that led to his reelection. Then point them to this video explaining Maslow's Hierarchy.
May I debate with you as a Harris voter?
@@Grandfather__ If you want, I could debate you on why I support Trump over Kamala.
@@Grandfather__ well i'm not OP, but if you're up for a discussion i'd be happy to talk.
@@vla1ne of course! I personally love to debate! I would personally love to "pit our wits" against each other! Why did you personally, vote for Kamala?
Incredibly smart breakdown and analysis, Margaret!
Thank you for pointing out how privileged these people actually are.
These people are still blaming everyone except for themselves, and overall it comes from a place of arrogance
What was so ineffective about the celebrity lovefest for Harris was because it was a bunch of people who can ignore rent and food prices that have skyrocketed telling everybody who felt the price shock to vote for the people who presided over that.
“Everything will be fine if we just choose joy and abortion! C’mon, America! Let’s joyfully abort! You’re not one a them NAZIS, are you?”
That was the whole platform in its entirety.
And even those celebrities demanded high payouts to attend her rallies.
cause Trump and Musk aren’t part of the elite? geez they are the pinnacle of capitalism
If they manage to maintain this attitude in 2028, expect a similar outcome. Keep it up!
Oh they won't change I suspect at least one more election cycle before the Dems realize it's not working
You understand this way better than any network pundit. Everyone in the Democrat Party should review this video and put it to memory.
I'd rather them keep losing honestly. As long as they want to trans kids abs criminals, they can keep on losing
The pundits are paid to promote a narrative. They are not there to understand or tell the truth.
The evidence? Look at every ex-pundits who started their own youtube channel, all of a sudden they can understand things like a normal person.
At one point I thought the Left's propaganda wing, "the "news," knew that the majority of their BS was just that... BS.
Now? I think they genuinely believe that the caricature they created of DJT, and his supporters, is 100% accurate.
True.. Basic needs and Safety are Essential. Both Administrations have a track record and Trump was Way better for everyone.
exactly, they both had a record. Harris had 1 job, protect the border, and she failed miserably at it.
You summarized it so well, touched on the main points concisely in a way that makes sense and reflects what so many people felt. Also, there were 15 million lost votes, people that voted for democrats last time and didn't vote at all this time. It's for a reason, in good part it's what you described in this video. To be honest, besides all of that, the forced identity politics and wokeness that turned into reverse racism, at every turn got so tiring, so controlling, exclusive and divisive.
Those 15 million missing votes are not people who sat out, they’re people who never existed.
I'm a 22 year old college freshman with a 3.8 gpa and pretty good resume and I cant even get a fucking job at walmart even though they have open positions.
aint no way bruh im at 3 for sophmore, im cooked.
Consider a trade like electrician or plumber.
Its because they dont want someone with existing commitments. Scheduling is the hardest part of the managers job, add in all the people who can only work certain times and coordinating it all is stressful. Plus college kids have ever changing schedules and its much easier for them to hire someone who can be there whenever (or close to that)
it is not what you know, rather it is who you know in life. You have not learned that as of yet.
You obviously didn't have 22 year prior retail experience that they were looking for in a 22 year old
Never thought I'd hear these people make fun of you for being broke and to pull yourself up by your bootstraps.
Thank You Margaret for being a strong, intelligent voice of truth, speaking light into the darkness of lies.
Wow!!! You are beautiful...just sayin'
I am a 20 yr old white woman with an immigrant father and I absolutely voted for Donald Trump. I am happy to be American. God bless America.
Thank God we dodge the bullet this time, thank you to you and others, God bless.
I am a 21 yr old white woman who voted for Kamala Harris. I can't say that I'm proud to be an American. This country deserves everything to come from this election.
@@jasmine-u9z I am a legal immigrant, came from a communist country, I am very proud to live here everyday regardless of whom is in office, Biden was not my choice, but I was not unproud to live here the last 4 years. You people need to grow up, If you are not proud than I can tell you the next 4 years will be miserable for you and your kind, enjoy!!! Another thing, you are 21, you are too young and naive to appreciate what freedom is until you live in places like North Korea, or China, or Cuba, or even Mexico ;)
@@jasmine-u9zokay you racist bigot
@jasmine-u9z it’s that exact lack of patriotism that basically oozes from the Democrats and their supporters that caused so many people to vote for Trump.
Reminds me of a DS9 quote that I'll slightly paraphrase. "It's easy to be a saint in paradise. But most people don't live in paradise." -Benjamin Sisko (Kinda.)
This is all true. I voted Trump, but I think a lot of the economic damage over time from all of our presidents is too big to fix.
CPA candidate here in Texas. Trump is the greatest President in history! MAGA!
When I learned Maslov's hierarchy of needs many years ago, they didn't explain how it affected politics! Good work Margaret.
Their cries are music to my soul, I love it. Woke as a disease and MAGA is the cure.
Also, you are 100% right, Maslow was on point.
Excellent video!
This girl ROCKS!
Well, the fundamental needs of entitled rich Democrats were met... this is why they talk down to us.
So simple in presentation, but very clearly and powerfully delivered👏🙌👍👌😊!!! Very well done 👏 ✔️ 👍 👌 😊!!!!
“It's easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled.”
I'm an Independent, I support inclusiveness, but I need to budget. At the dollar store every item used to be just $1 - that is, until Joe Biden became President. For multi-millionaire celebrities or wealthy college professors, It may not seem much that the price only went up from $1 to $1.25, but for folks like me, that really hurts. And this out-of-control inflation hurts everyone, not just the majority of the people but also hurts, the minorities and marginal people. This is what Kamala Harris and the elite Hollywood celebrities failed to comprehend.
And you think Trumps pushing for tariffs will help? historically every time the USA has imposed tariffs, the countries they are placed against retaliate by making their own. Everything gets WORSE. Anyone who voted for trump because they think he will do any good for the economy is just plain ignorant. We are talking about a silver spoon businessman who at one point was a BILLION dollars in the hole and had to be bailed out by his daddies banker buddies.
Love this young ladies common sense, something Democrats are suffering from a severe shortage of . Keep up the great work!
That's a clear, concise, and coherent explanation. Well done, and thanks.
-A person could make a case for Trump
-A person could make a case for NOT Trump
-A person CAN'T make a case for Kamala
💯 Borrowing this!
She's an empty vessel on the surface, but a sly, evil marxists inside....
She was the worst candidate in history.
@@graftedworks Perhaps a little skepticism over 100% nodding agreement is in order. Some 60% of Kamala voters in exit polls insisted they were voting FOR Kamala rather than against her opponent, with a positive case in her favor. Whether on issues spanning from continued foreign policy in Ukraine and upholding NATO and alliances, to a woman's right to choose, to tackling climate change, there were numerous reasons to vote *for* Kamala Harris.
@@VesperAegisContinuing a failing policy regarding Ukraine - giving them billions in aid while restraining the use of such weapons in Russia, the fact that trump didn’t quit NATO and only asked for members to commit to the 3% GDP spending goal (which most Eastern European countries have reached now), these are NOT reasons to vote for Kamala
Calling them war-hawk-genocide-supporters really shuts them up lemme tell you. Try it.
there were no wars under Trumps last term. Under Biden, plenty of unrest and wars. Hmmm
Truth. They get quiet when ya ask about the 16yo brown american citizen Obama murdered without trial as well.
Yea....never thought I would see an alliance with the Democrats and the Cheyneys. My past self would not be able to believe that reality.
@@rururu5630crazy to see how the dems changed throughout the years. Its scary actually.
VERY good points you make and I never heard of Maslow's Hierarchy so now all the pieces click for me. Look at the videos of the young people having the epic meltdowns and screaming fits. Some of them (in other videos I've seen) even lament that their parents voted for Trump and they feel "so betrayed." But I bet you ANYTHING these young people live with their parents and have all their needs met. They have the luxury of skipping to the top of the pyramid because they aren't paying the bills and buying the groceries. They even have student loan deferrals under Biden. If they were out on their own, making a living and being 100% responsible for themselves, they wouldn't have the time, energy, or inclination to throw temper tantrums like this on TikTok.
Nailed it.
this is also one of the reason women tend to vote more liberal then men, is that in the current cultural climate, there is a lot more social support for women compared to men. subsidies, hiring quotas, divorce and alimony laws, there is a lot more safety nets for women compared to if a guy goes broke, he usually is on the streets. this isn't to say we should get rid of these social nets, but its really telling that a lot of men who often are working paycheck to paycheck in generally more physically demanding jobs voted so red compared to last election
It's probably difficult, but imagine you have NO marketable skills and are utterly dependent on income from a BS job that only exists because of government (whether that's direct-funding, bailout-loans, or pointless regulations). Denying reality (that others are getting crushed to pay for you to have that job) is crucial to your worldview. That bubble absolutely needed to get popped, and I'm so grateful to see voters do it.
Marketable skills can ve learned anywhere though. I taught myself it's isn't hard
Lots of people have been telling the democrats this. Whether they listen or not is up to them. From what I've seen, 90+% of them are choosing not to listen.
seeing the results and how several blue states (like New Jersey and Virginia) are getting into the 5% margin I’d be more optimistic than that
Encouraging young generations!! Like !
What every degreed Accountant and Finance person learned in college should be taught to the entire population. Perhaps not to a detailed degree to pass the CPA exam but in general concepts like Economics, Legal, Finance, Banking, International Trade, Basic Cost Accounting, NonProfit/Government Accounting, GAAP, Taxes. The voting public would not easily fall for misinformation and hold public officials accountable. I think Margaret is doing a great job getting these basic concepts to the public so they are well informed.
Hey Margaret, I appreciate watching your videos. I recently started medical school and just felt like your videos clarified so much. Despite my surroundings (it’s a liberal to say the least), I think this gave me a clearer idea of what’s going on
Imagine how out of touch these people are. Calling people broke because they want to be able to afford to eat and because they don’t share the same concerns with your gender studies professor
You just randomly popped in my recommended videos and I'm you did! I loved your previous video on the economic breakdown of KHs fiscal policies. You keep it straight, short and precise. FYI, I am an American Indian(don't like that label cause I'm just American) but to make a point here, the Dems talk down to minorities and they want to wreck America. I love America and would never vote for an anti American candidate regardless of their political persuasion. President Trump gives me hope for the future of this great nation, so I voted for him twice. God bless America 💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Student load forgiveness was a slap in the face to many. Damn good points you made. They should have hired you to help them.
It was, I gave up my chance to go to USC, LSU, Indiana, Oregon, and Oklahoma just to go within my own state and not give a financial burden to my parents, that being texas, I was rejected by texas and A&M, so I didn’t like the idea of staying, but I had no money, I could’ve gotten a loan, by why do that? I just went with it and enrolled at a commuter school.
When I heard about the loan forgiveness, I reflected about my past choices, how much I gave up, how I was forced to stay close home and decline the best quality of education for me, just for the debts to be forgiven,
That’s my two cents in it, sorry for the long comment
@@user-vx2fw7qe1n There were other legitimate options for dealing with student loan crisis other than "forgiving" the loans. Allowing the borrowers to declare bankruptcy and allowing judges to modify loans so that they can be repaid is a legitimate available option for any other form of debt including credit cards, etc, etc but that would require borrowers to declare assets and have a court oversee it.
Because woke is SO ANNOYING. Everyone is SICK of it.

Their rhetoric also doesn't reflect their actions.
Calling him "Nah-see" and "fascist" etc for years then immediately ceding to it, invalidates the strength of their claims.
If they truly believed their own words, they would have taken a different action.
As a North Carolina voter, thank you for making this video. The Biden Administration failed my people after Hurricane Helene, so it's really hard seeing my state get attacked specifically when so many people have been screwed over.
It's sad and funny that the party of empathy, has no (real) empathy for the people that need it most.
15 seconds for a recommendation has got to be some sort of a record for me. (from UA-cam)
After getting all my news from Reddit that typically leans very democratic, I was shocked when Kamala lost the race. I felt disconnected from reality as I felt I was missing something fundamental that my new sources weren’t providing. Thanks for the perspective and great explanation
