In this video we explore the Toioyabe National Forest which is located in the Eastern Sierra Mountain Range. Armando and I take on Kavanaugh Ridge in the snow. We find a beautiful frozen over alpine lake and struggle finding a way to the top of the ridge because of the snow. Will we make it to the top of the ridge or will we be forced to turn around? Thanks for watching.

One of my overall favorite trips we need to definitely film "The Return To Kavenaugh Ridge"
Let’s do it
Bonjour! what an amazing video!!! like usual! Just want to say that you are a very very good narrator (I hope my english express exactly what I have in my head...). You have a gift for telling what you feel and the descriptions of your surroundings are fabulous! take care and "bonne journée!"
Thank you so much for the kind words and thanks for watching. Brand new video Sunday at 6pm.
Awesome video brother! Thanks for the shout out! 👊🏼👊🏼 These videos just keep getting better and better. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks brother
Loved that sunrise at the end, great job man!
This place was amazing. I want to go back. Thanks for checking out the vid.👊🏻
Jonny the music complements the epic content. Drone footage and camera work out of this world. This is my overseas number one UA-cam channel jip Jonny Taco Outdoors cheers
Thank you so much for the kind words. Tune in tonight at 6pm for another adventure video.👊🏻
What an awesome video! You got there probably the last time for this winter with these recent storms coming in. When I was there last with @trailnewbie and @rhinooffroad we were there in the middle of summer. What a contrast to the winter scene that unfolded for you, so beautiful!
Thanks brother
Your drone shots are top notch! Beautiful video. This place is on the bucket list.
Thanks so much for watching. Come hang out 6pm Sunday for a brand new video. 👊🏻
Count on it.@@jonnytacooutdoors
Man those views from the top of the mountain!! Armando slept like a baby.. must have been scary for you not to hear from him for a while.. fricking Mando 😂
Armando and I camped recently ha ha thanks for watching
that lake looked amazing and im jealous
It was! Thanks for watching
Epic. Looks like a fantastic area.
Thanks for watching
You are a Great Story teller
Thank you and thanks for watching
wow that was nuts spinning up that deep snow!! have you ever tried using chains? i guess you dont really need them, amazing how well you all do with those trucks. great views up there and looks like no one for miles /awesome. great trip thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching !!
Epic Trip Man! You and Armando Die Hard that trail. Glad to see you guys back together. 🤙🏾🇨🇦
Thanks for watching
Amazing video again. Those views at the top of the crest were epic. Don’t underestimate the Tesla guys. I’m telling you, they’ll surprise you. Once I get my skid plates I’ll be more adventurous with mine but with about 10” of ground clearance it’ll get to some pretty decent spots. I’ll definitely be getting out more later this year. My car doesn’t look like my profile pic anymore. It was on bags and 22’s. Now it’s lifted with methods and BFG K02’s. Still a long ways to go but should be fun.
Thanks for watching. Let’s do a Tesla Trip.😮💨
@@jonnytacooutdoors I’d definitely be down once I get a few more things to get back out and do some camping. Been out of work for almost 7 months because of the writers/actors strike and now just a week and a half post-op with back surgery so once I’m back to work I’ll be definitely investing in getting more gear.
Very awesome footage and epic adventure
Marco! Thank you so much. I’m currently editing a video and we talked about how you’re an amazing chef.😎👊🏻 my buddy Larry loves your recipes.
Your buddy needs some new tires asap
He got em. 35’s too.
Nice! I live in the Reno area. Just getting into overlanding. Don’t have much yet but let’s meet up.
Another trail I need to do. Awesome video. 👍🏽👊🏽
Thanks for watching
Armando eating ramen in slow motion. 😁😁😁
Gottem!
Let's do it!!!!
Thanks for watching
Incredible video
Thanks for watching
such a great adventure bro slice! I've been so crazy busy the last 4 month that I haven't been able to focus on my videos as much as I wanted to but now things are looking up big time. I've been watching your videos here and there during that timeline getting my outdoor fix and it's been awesome! I know it takes some work getting those videos cut and adventures filmed. You've come a long ways brotha! Good job! God is good! Many blessing to you and your fam. Keep up the great work! Your friend Daniel - XPLRNW
Thanks so much for watching. Appreciate the kind words. Hope you’re well.👊🏻
For sure, brotha! Things are going well! Keep an eye out for my videos... I'll be posting every week here in a week. @@jonnytacooutdoors
In the style of Story til Now! Good stuff mayn!
Thanks for watching. 👊🏻
I feel like I over do the cinematic music at times.
@@jonnytacooutdoors Lol, not as much as Shawn, hehe!
We need that guy in more videos
Did another trip with him recently. Thanks for watching
Fun video!..Been here many times in my 96 LX450....lol, if you would have aired down to 10 psi u could have walked thru the deeper snow and drifts and stayed on trail without spinning so much....I mean your gunna have to air back up anyways
96. Sounds like a cool rig. Yeah you’re definitely right about airing down more. I honestly don’t have much experience driving in snow, but I’m looking forward to this coming winter. Thanks for watching. Hope you’re doing well.
@@jonnytacooutdoors Awesome!.. this coming winter/snow wheeling will give you a good feel for how much air to run in the conditions u face and adventure in it...dont be scared to go low pressure, it will actually save u time with less backing up and spinning, u will find out what pressure is best for your rig in different snow depths...looking forward to more of your vids!
There are no flight restrictions at Mono lake
There was a sign that said drones were not allowed to be flown. I believe it’s a state park.
Upgrade the heater hose to a 4" hose. should fix the overheating problem. :)
That does work
Dammmnnnn!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for watching
This was so sick!
I’m in the market for some tires what do you recommend? Your tires handle it like a champ
I like my Yokohama Geolanders. Lots of good tires out there. UA-cam is a good place to research. I’ve had Toyo and BFG tires before as well and they were great.
How does your buddy like that RC vertex set up ? Or what was your opinion ?
@@stevegarcia3229 I think rough country makes good stuff however I don’t have any personal experience with any rough country suspension products. I use Fox shocks.
You need to air down to no higher than 12 psi lol more like 10. And crawl it 😂
Thanks for watching
So did you ever figure out why the battery wouldn't run the diesel heater? Could it have been to high of elevation for the diesel heaters? (11k)
Batteries can act weird in the cold. The cold kills batteries also. BUT I used them last night in cold weather with no problem.
Question. When was this filmed and of 1-25-24 what's the condition of the trails out there right now. I'm planning a trip starting from Tehachapi merging onto 395 an start going north exploring on the way back home
I’m not sure what the conditions of the trail are right now. This was filmed a couple of months ago. Thanks for watching !
@jonnytacooutdoors got it. Ya never been out that way for overlanding an all the videos of the views sheesh.. could not believe it
@@Spongebob_que amazing places off highway 395! Tune in this Sunday at 6pm for another adventure.
@@jonnytacooutdoors already got my reminder
Armando trying to sleep in lol
I definitely honked and woke him up
That was funny and an epic trip we need to go back!!
@@Mando.Overland let’s go tomarrow
Curious, does anyone ever use chains on snowy trails? Didn’t know if that was against trail etiquette…
I don’t think chains work in this kind of situation I think they’re more for paved roads.
Where is your Lithium battery located?
The Camper
@@jonnytacooutdoors I wonder if being in an insulated box would prevent what you experienced.
What tires are you running?
Yokohama Geolanders
Air down more bro 10psi atleast
Thanks for watching
