he was vlogging before anyone has ever thought of youtube
Kim Dabs that's right
John mayer is the original vlogger
That’s a fact 2000 baby
Thank god he put 3x5 on the record 🤣
This is amazing, glad to know this type of videos exist, and telling those historical moment of Mayer's life/growth before he become so big.
Continuum crew back in studio January!!! confirmed by the man himself..

+Kamillo Gutierr I hear you. Still pumped though.. whoever John is right now might not have to affect the incredible abilities of Steve Jordan and co.
This guy was way ahead of his time.
"it'll be like... D'Angelo"... wow haha, Did John Alagia get Mayer into D'angelo? :P
bro, john is an ARTIST! "im still trying to get used to this camera... yeah, im still trying to get comfortable with this bass player thing.
The song at 8:20?
Not Myself :)
Brittany Bundock Thanks. :)
HERE: Fairy Dust
That is probably the most disgusting video because I have the most NEEDED CLOTHES CLEAN….PERIOUD
07:41 David LaBruyere "I'm still trying to get comfortable with this camera thing"
John Mayer "I'm still trying to get comfortable with this bass player thing"
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
they should make a new documentary of his whole life. There's a lot to say about him now
Yes, but it would be a to mid-life biography. The rest is still unwritten. To me, he is still going very strong and getting stronger.
They did that with Someday I'll Fly. It's basically a life documentary up until I think The Search for Everything. It doesn't have anything after that
So glad John fixed those drums on Wonderland
Rarely do you get the chance to see the making of the first record. Keep in mind, this is before anybody but a few knew who JM was and certainly before the tidal wave that became that first album. Think video of The Beatles making "With The Beatles" and all that they were thinking as it was being made. Therein lies JM's genius. From here it could have gone nowhere (not really) but what the heck....let's video the proceedings anyway. I love this behind the scenes of that record in particular!
I think he has always had a sense that his time is finite and he knew what he wanted to accomplish; hence the song, "Dreams to Remember" was very important to him. He was willing to take his God given talents and work his ass off for what he wanted out of life. Very ambitious, hard working, talented man.
Along the way, he has had glitches in the road, and for some of his lessons, he has been a slow learner, but learn he has. This is one determined and forward thinking gentleman, when it comes to his career.
Well, this proves: John invented Vlogging before UA-cam even existed.
The last time John ever did laundry!
hahahah
lol now he has his own laundry products
@@tanayasharma7776 haha funny how things come full circle!
Okay I've seen this a hundred times but I'm just now realizing this:
At around 1:20 when all of the clips in the squares are changing constantly, watch all of the stuff that John does... From wearing a shirt-necklace to magically conducting city traffic.
Thumbs up, spread the word :)
Or Not !
I used to hate John Mayer. I’m so glad I came around once I matured in my tastes as an old person. 😂
Oh John. Wearing those cheap watches before his big break and then able to buy the Big Pilot and his great assortment of Patek’s. Lol
I say "bring back the cheap watches.". It makes him more relatable, but he's gotten used to his, not so new life life and the lifestyle that goes with it.
@@dianebig7857 he still wears g shocks an just did a collaboration with them last year
Man this makes me wish I was born in the 80s, so that I would of been able to experience and appreciate the world sooner. Instead I was born in the 90s but still glad not everything is like it is now.
I think I read it somewhere the other day about how one thing ppl born in the 90s are doing right is making sure 80s and 90s music are still relevant and popular!
Anybody who films their future is making their future.
He was filming his present. i don't get what ou are saying. I know he had big dreams for his future, but how, specifically, was he filming his furture in this video?
John!! Did you know nevermind by nirvana had guitars 😮
I miss the Room for Squares - Continuum John Mayer.
I lost my soul connection with him since Battle Studies.
Yau Brandon Born and Raised was a great album.
His new record is pretty great, its a reflection to his past albums, that album got me back into his music
Well life needs to hit you differently, then you get Born and Raised...
So big...so great! The original vlogger!🎸🎸🎸🙋🏽♀️
John Makes me realize that it's actually about enjoying the music that you play and not trying to be the best at all times, if you get me. Cuz of my comment this video has 69 comments now
funny how he’s 42 now.
it makes sense now
I love the Room for Squares CD. This is such a great look into making this early album and the early John.
miss room for squares
it does now make sense, John
Did anyone tell John not to put his jeans in the dryer?
Man. To even see that Covered in Rain wasn't planned to be on the record at this early of a stage... kinda sad...
He didn’t write it yet
