Dear Martin, actually i already planned to build a NOCH EasyTrack model railroad named Theißkirchen and i started to buy all the tricky stuff that can be hard to get if you‘re too late (mostly the buildings and the Easytrack package) for the last 2 years. Now, i almost have all these things and was happy so far until… i found YOUR AMAZING layout. So that means: 2 weeks ago i reconsidered my recent idea and postponed the Theißkirchen project to build my own Martinstown layout. Especially the different operational modes are so interesting and challenging and promise to bring a lot of fun. Like some other followers already said: you got the balance between a small layout and no obvious circle driving and with very varied ways of operational procedures. I already bought two of the „signature pieces“ from your layout (the warehouse and the distillery…both models are unfortunately no longer available at NOCH, but you can find remainders in stock with some research at the internet) and start to build the table section in the next weeks. So, i just want so say THANK YOU for your content - you are a real gain for the Youtubiverse! Best wishes from the baltic sea! Frank

Are you considering making another episode about automation, setting up blocks, signals etc?
Thank you some very informative videos.

I just bought the table legs Saturday Jan 7 2023. Ikea in the U.S. still has tables in black or white. Thankyou so much for the advice for table and legs. I bought the legs that adjust in height: 23 5/8" to 35 3/8"
They were 15 us dollars each. Very sturdy legs.

Good to see you back again. I was quite concerned that we had not seen you. I think I preferred the days of toilet tissue waves rather than (expensive for some) 3D printing.

As I'm sure you noticed, we only dropped the 150x75 Linnmon table from the range.....that one wasn't replaced by a Lagkapten equivalent. It was replaced by a 140x60 instead. The only difference with them is that they have extra fixing points for our drawers 👍🏻

I was just about to ask whether the Martins Town kit could be used to build an N scale layout... 😅
Great to hear that it is indeed doable!

You can leave the resin in the printer. No need to pour it back into the bottle. Just whisk the resin with a flexible plastic spatula (I use one that came with PVA) and you’re good to go again.
If you have pieces stuck on the FEP, just hold a piece of printed supports in a corner of the vat on the FEP and print a 15 second full test screen. You then pull out everything that got stuck to the bottom with one thin cured sheet. Unless you have to change the resin to another colour, it never has to leave the vat. If you swap resins regularly, I would advise a second vat.

Very nice starter layout, which I’m considering implementing as my base layout. However things are normally to grow. Do you have any ideas how to further expand the layout at both sides?

Hej Martin, Thanks a lot for so many great great videos. I'm a danish enthusiast who has been looking for a 3x4m mountain layout plan with high-mountain landscapes and multiple levels....I have been browsing af lot of all sorts of magasines, but there not many high-mountain based trackplans out there....So I thought why not ask you? Do you have any ideas of where to look? med venlig Hilsen Thomas Heder, Aalborg, Danmark

Hello, I'm a beginner and looking for what I should use as a base for my layout. I saw the IKEA tables. Do you think this is a good idea to start with as a beginner (zero experience) or would it be better to put something together from plywood. I have a room of 3.2 by 3.2 meters. So I can make a nice surface. What about the height of the legs ? Is 70 cm enough or shoould i go higher (Also IKEA legs expendable to 90 cm but 3 times expensiver 😐) Going into the depth should also be possible if you cut out a piece. I can also go up I suppose? If you have good tips, you can always report them Thank you in advance Grtz😉

Its sad to see that all DIY project chanels are going to 3D printing and forgetting that most dont have a printers yeat

Well said. For some of us, especially on a limited budget, these things are out of reach and only a dream. Fortunately people like Martin often do show alternatives.

Hi! I would say that 3D-printing will be the biggest revolution for Model Railroad since the controls became digital back in the 80s. I understand it might be frustrating seeing all the DIY-channels doing 3D-print, not having a printer on your own. However.. A new locomotive (any brand) is like $450 these days, same as a printer, so the economical obstacle buying one is gone. At the same time you’re saving money from like week 2 printing your details rather than buying the kits from the manufacturers.
