Would love some tutorials explaining how to use polybar, i3, Openbox, tint2. I'm a beginner in Linux world, and this kind of videos are highly informative, but most of the times just tells you how to do the things and people wants to learn. I know there's documentation everywhere, but newbies as me need some introduction to this topics before read all that technical info.
Anyways, thanks so much for your videos, means a lot for us.

Thanks. I've been going up and down Polybar since the first of the month, mostly in VB. Way too many hours ... :) Stumbled across border-left/right-size [some number] at full transparency centres the bar, whereas with Bspwm, for instance, x-offset will do - width 80% x-offset 10%, e.g. Also, when setting the radius to a ridiculously high value, interesting shapes are formed. Modules that display info that varies greatly in width pose a fun challenge. I found a module to add Rofi, and ArcoLinux (which I run) comes with Jgmenu in Erik's Polybar config. Just install the app and go from there.

Thanks for the tutorial - I've been keeping an eye on polybar but still using i3blocks for now.
There should be no need to use sudo to chmod +x the launch.sh script at around 5:30, unless you are not the owner of the file or its directory.
Also you could improve your vim productivity by using e.g. caw (change a word) instead of moving to the end of the word, opening insert mode, then backspacing to delete 'bar1' before replacing with 'example'.

You are doing a great job! I watched many of your videos. Just a little advice. It better to explain what the commands do or the structure and components of what you are configuring rather than showing how to do a certain task.
I am not taking about this video specifically just generally. You actually explain some concepts during your videos but they usually aren't aimed towards that way.
I will give an example to avoid misunderstanding. I think it would have been better if you made a shorter video explaining what in the polybar config file then made another one showing your customization options.
Like some sort of explaining the documentation in an easy to digest video. Especially you have a descent flow and smooth transitioning in your videos. You and Joe Collins.
You are doing great anyway and I am not trying to downvote your work and looking forward to see more videos. And please tell me Gentoo is in on the way >3

About ricing, I've seen the reddit you're referring to and it's indeed amazing how people can make their desktops so gorgeous! Although, it's always a matter of personal preference. Thanks, Ryan! I'd like to make a video on i3 about how it feels in daily usage, especially for certain tasks like video editing and so on, as I feel a WM is great and many people want to try them out, but the real challenge begins when you start to work on it. There is really when you find out if a WM is good for your workflow, or your workflow can be modified enough to be working on a WM the way you want to. Not sure though when I'll be able to do it.

I have something like that setup for i3 and spectrwm. For instance for i3 you can add at the end of ~/.config/i3/config: "exec_always --no-startup-id ~/.config/polybar/launch_i3wm.sh" where launch_i3wm.sh is a script that launches "polybar i3wm" and where i3wm is defined inside the polybar config with the modules you choose (here Ernanno used "polybar example"). Then for spectrwm I have inside ~/.config/spectrwm/spectrwm.conf: "bar_action = ~/.config/polybar/launch_spectrwm.sh" where now launch_spectrwm.sh is a different script that launches polybar with a different set of modules)
