He’s starred in HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” and Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods.” He sits down with Tamron Hall to discuss his newest role in the Jay-Z produced film, “Harder They Fall,” alongside Regina King and Zazie Beetz. He also gives us the scoop on his upcoming “SNL” appearance, looks back on his homeless days, and more.

Tamron is hands down one of the best interviewers out there. She avoids surface level questions and really takes the time to get to know every single guest, their background, their struggles, etc. You can tell she did her HW. It's so refreshing because you learn something about each guest that you wouldn't learn anywhere else. She has a way of tying everything together so beautifully while also reading the room to make sure each guest feels comfortable. She is becoming one of my favorites by far and this interview was so refreshing. Thank you Tamron!
Check him out in the last Black man in San Francisco. When I saw that movie I knew he was going to skyrocket. Also the variants and MCU that he mentioned is from the Loki show on the Disney Channel. Enjoyed it so much. Also lovecraft country was great. Da 5 bloods too. Big fan.

Wow!! He was just fantastic in the movie, The Harder They Fall. Grrrrreat movie. But that scene when he planted that kiss on his girrrl. Whew!
I like interviews where you find something out about the guest, there is also a place for fun too but this was a great interview, Tiffany Hadish also lived in her car when she was gigging, it is so positive to see you can be successful from such a bad place, I saw the film last night and was great btw

I live close to Georgetown, from Austin! I love this actor but never really have looked into who he is. The quirkiness of the Last Black Man in San Francisco spoke to me bc of the gentrification happening in Austin.

If we are to be great, then surely we need our own heroes, not appropiated or handed down ones. No..James Bond is a White Character created by a white author, as a white agent of MI6, a secret(spy)service agency of the British Government. Spys are supposed to be conspicous, so explain to me how a black man can be conspicous outside of Africa and the Caribbean? A big 6ft plus blackman running around in Europe and the middle east? Why cant we have our own heroes, insttead of trying to blacken already established white ones? Beeing 007 isnt a problem for me, as its a designation,not a name. Being James Bond, and black, goes against the whole character and lacks the nuance and beleivable elements needed for the role. And its NOT what the creator of the character wrote. Do you really think black and white are so interchangeable? Our experience on this planet isnt unique? A black James Bond is unbelievable and serves no purpose other thanpolitical, to claim a title that belongs elswhere. Create our own heroes for our beloved actors to play. Stop with the black JB foolishness.
Tamron has taken a page from Oprah with the interrupting before the person can answer. Let it go with this James Bond foolishness. Since when has an American actor played that British character? Idris was more fitting but they didn't even cast him. I would watch if they would have cast either one but they won't and I don't really care about James Bond that much. I must say that Regina King, Idris Elba and Lakeith were my absolute favorites in this movie. So happy he made his dreams come true and made it through but his acting doesn't wow me yet. Unimpressed with his acting right now. My top notch A list actors are, Denzel W, Chitiwel E, Chadwick B (RIP), Idris E, Lakeith S, Bryan Tyee Henry, Delroy Lindo, Forest W, Lawrence F, Aston Sanders, Michael K Williams may he (RIP) Mahershala Ali, Edi G, Omar E, David G and others are all top notch AA actors to me. Some honorable mentions are, Aidis H, Kofi S, Anthony Makie, Jonathan M, David Boyega are all good as well.
100% agreed. An American playing an iconic ENGLISH(he's English) character is deluded enough, let alone a black man. James Bond is white and some of our people need to get over this fantasy and keep it moving. We shouuld be looking to develop our own myths and legends as opposed to begging for white validation, taking mantles handed to us. Its NOT an achievement playing roles that are originally written as white. Bond was created by a white man to be a white spy dealing with coldwar issues of the 60's to the crayz world we live in now. Being a 007 tho..thats different as 007 is a designation, not a name. Black James Bond? What next a Black Luke Skywalker? Create your own icons...smh. Is it really that difficult? As for this actor...overrated imo. He's young, so he'll improve. I was impressed by him in Lovecraft country, but his depiction of Kang in Loki was garbage..not his fault in truth, the show was WOKE garbage. But there's a market for garbage these days, so...

Yes, Ian Flemming not only lived in Jamaica, he wrote two or three stories that were based there. However, if he wanted JB to be black he would have written him as such. I dont understand our peoples deire to claim already established white charactes, rather than create our own. Its almost as if we're not valid uunles we're taking established white heroes. What does that say about us? What next? We want a black Tarzan, becuase the character is in Africa....smh?
