I just purchased a 1999 DeVille in metropolitan Detroit. It’s not the D’elegance version, but has most of the features and only 58,000 miles. Looking forward to many years of comfortable driving!
I love these cars my dad had one, but he sold it for a new car. He said he didn’t need it. He had it for a while. This was the car that he got after his Toyota Corolla. And it was pretty good all around pretty good pretty nice. My family used to ride in this car. It’s pretty cool. Pretty good I like it but my dad had to get rid of it. Well I mean he could’ve kept it but he wanted something a bit smaller and economical so we got a Malibu instead so basically you went from a full-size luxury car to more like a midsize luxury car I love full-size cars like this they bring a lot of memories. I would buy one of these or I would buy a BMW with problems on it, but the only thing I would care about is if it drives good the other things I would not worry about I would be like if it drives good it drives good, it would be fine I will if Drews good it drives good Nissan quest or terrible for the BMW and the Cadillac is much better. I’m hoping to get another one of these or a BMW seven series.
The main issue with these Caddies is that infamous head gasket problem with those Northstar engines... I love how the Northstar sounds and the power they produce but these motors tend to blow head gaskets, particularly on the 1997-99 Devilles...
@@tulsatime4208 That can be said for any car but that doesn’t excuse poor engineering in the Northstar Engines. I’m sure most Cadillac buyers drove the cars conservatively and had the money to do proper maintenance but these engines are still notorious for head gasket failures and excessive oil consumption. It’s a shame because these were beautiful cars, I had one but will never own another GM product again.
I just bought a -98 with 8400'KM on the meter... and its a absolute a dream, smooth as silk...

My dad used to have a Cadillac Deville of this era, but I don’t know what trim it was. It was a pretty good car.
A friend of mine has a '98 Deville d'Elegance and he named it "Diane d'Elegance" after me ;)
Nice
This car just screams "Phil Leonardo"....I'm getting one tomorrow
Spark plugs look real easy to change. Waa the only issue the head gasket bolts being too thin causing a crack?
That’s the ONLY reservation I had about buying this car, but decided to take a chance. Wish me luck!🍀
Did Cadillac ever put rear fender skirt's on the 94-99 Deville.
Puppet Master Only on the 94-96
The worst thing about these years was the stupid fuel gage.... I owned a 1995.... they're really decent cars...
Hit that door with a little oil. Wd40. 💯 car looks good
I love these cars but I have heard some terrible things about that North Star engine.
maintenance matters - always remember that

That Sabkable guy created a whole generation of fucked up car videos.
The gas tank is completely empty!
Only a moron allows that to happen.
He has 6 gallons of gas.
Are these things reliable? I am aware of the engine heating problem but are there any other comment ones? Is it a money pit ?
Yes! Research Northstar Performance

It depends on how you treat it and service it.
