This is fantastic! My grandma didn’t stand a chance!!!

Built one of those when I was a kid (1970's, with the old style pop cans). We used lighter fluid, into the bottom can, then swung the "cannon" like a base ball bat a couple times to vaporize the lighter fluid, then immediately lit it. BOOM!
Exactly. We did the same in the 70s. Shake the whole contraption a number of times like a spray paint can, then light at the whole at the bottom edge of the bottom can. The balls would easily go 60-70 yards.
I did the same, using tall beer cans I'd find. Worked really well, always wanted to make one to show my now grown kids, but need tin cans not aluminum, bummer.
Me too whipcannon around like a bat
Also the mid can should lowered
We also installed a flint at the bottom-side of the bottom can to strike instead of a lighter
It's amazing watching people discover every day things that we knew in the 70's. :-D
When I was a kid we cut the can lids halfway and folded them under, making sure each was cut on opposite sides. Then we would put them together so that each can matched holes with each other. This kept more vapor in the bottom half of the cannon longer. We used lighter fluid as well and just shook the cannon after adding the tennis ball. And our ignition hole was on the side of the bottom can and not under the cannon.
That's exactly how my older brother (hero) made them. I've never forgotten that tennis ball bazooka.
Put the ignition hole on the side of the cylinder so you can rest it in the ground to get better distances
Do something with the backyard scientist
Scott Studios yes yes yes
Thank you for replying and plz subscribe
Scott Studios yep
He has?
When I was a kid we used rubbing alcohol. Also we used steel soda cans. They were perfectly sized for it.
We just used hair spray
We also used soda cans and we put the hole for igniting the cannon on the side so we could shoot straight up.
Same here; except we used Ronsonol lighter fluid.
@@jeffcollins7443 Yes, we did put the role on the side, not the Bottom!
Yep! We used 3 tall Budweiser cans and rubbing alchohol
In the early 70s, soda cans were made with a thick, straight-sided cylinder, had a large, removable pull tab, and a top and bottom that could be removed with a can opener. They were the perfect diameter. We did nothing to the bottom can except remove the tab and punch a hole in the side (not the bottom - you could stand ours up on the ground without losing fluid). Then, we removed the top and bottom of 4 or 5 more cans (4 total is actually sufficient) and taped them together. We just dropped the ball all the way to the top of the bottom can (All of that extra expansion space isn't needed). We could get 50 to 100 feet shots, depending on how much lighter fluid was used and the angle at which we held it.
Loving these! 100% trying this!
Darren Bunker awesome.
Truth
Can you please make more science experiments videos please like in the old days. Like if u agree
It's the king of random junior 😂
I made these tennis ball cannons when I was a kid, I used Campbell soup cans… the tennis ball fit perfect, creating that back pressure you need
Best science UA-camr ever
I bet the neighbors love you.
Tooooootally love them!!! XD
We used to use beer cans, they were at that time made of steel. This paper thin aluminum now would melt or explode at the seams. They are tight fit, plus the opening was enough to allow lighter fluid to flash off into vapors.
You should put 2 pieces of metal in a vacuum chamber and see if they would weld together by themselves. Without oxygen, they should
USED FLEX TAPE FOR SEALING

Hi
howdy famous person
Justin Y. No
Ooh hello there
I see your comment on every video I watch!
Hello person scrolling through the comment section have a great day!
You too!
Awe thanks, you too!
have a great life too!!!
thanks
Maybe I'll do a video, when I was a kid in the 70's, we used different cans, a different divider location, and a different and simpler means to make the divider, lighter fluid worked perfectly
I tried making one like I did 30 years ago and couldn't get it to work with lighter fluid. I remember having to put just the right amount in and swing ING it around just right to air it out
@@Mcluvin73 remember them catching fire? hahah
Mix Potassium Nitrate and Powdered Sugar. I heard that it's highly flammable.
Edit: I just found out that he actually made a video of it and made a rocket's fuel. But can you make something cooler like a *FLAMETHROWER* ?
They have already used that for fuel
MotoDude
can you send me a link on a video? i cant find any. TY
MotoDude nvm i found it
They also made a flamethrower XD
pottasium nitrate is hard to get your hands on in most european countries. methanol is something almost everyone has access to
I love your videos they are so creative and probably one of the best channels on youtube
I could imagine dude perfect using these.
can u upgrade the cannon into a rocket launcher where when u press the trigger it goes off ?
that would be cool.
@Legion Guitar Might be possible to have the piezo from the lighter in the cannon and use that as the trigger
@@tyuwar4433 That works. I had a potato cannon like that.
Here comes a brand new TKOR to brighten up my morning!
Keya It's evening here in my place.
it's 5 pm here
also 5 pm
Hes not tkor he is the joat
Keya morning?
I’d love to see you try to replicate quantum locking or even build a mini rail gun!
I have done this with my scouts here in the UK, but using Pringle tubes, and it works really well
Thanks for the fuel idea. My tennis ball had a great tight fit using asparagus cans but I was struggling with distance using lighter fluid...maxing out at about 20 feet. As soon as I changed the fuel I immediately got two nearly identical 120 foot launches. Awesome!!
Why you dont use a pvc pipe?
LivePro he wanted to do something with things ppl have at home
Teri Payette it’s pretty easy to obtain a pvc pipe
PVC pipe doesn't commonly come in a size that fits tennis balls.
It do though
right? and why arent you shooting potatoes? they will always fit and work WAY better.
I really enjoy watching this new guy Nate. He is making some really entertaining videos. I stopped watching for awhile but have started watching again since Nate has been making the videos. Hopefully he continues to make awesome videos.
7:19 sunglasses over sunglasses
Made these often as a kid when beer cans were straight sided. But, my best ones were when I used Hi-C cans and launched nerf footballs!!! Also, paint them black as it helps add heat to vaporize the fuel.
If I had to choose between Logan Paul or the king of random I would say the king of random for life
If I had to choose between most youtubers and Logan Paul I would choose pretty much anyone else
Colin furze is another one in the UK
PHU TUONG HOANG is it that hard to choose?
Do you like Logan Paul?
If I had to choose between amputation of digit, and Logan Paul remaining on UA-cam, I would choose to take Logan Paul off of UA-cam.
I think if I made this, I would want to use some kind of glue on the cans as well, to ensure it holds. I think I'd also want a removable bottom of some kind, to help with fueling.
Or use a solid tube of some type. This is just another version of the "potato cannon".
Just use pvc pipe
Incase of a removable bottom the pressure inside the tube would force the bottom to open up.
threaded one might able to prevent the bottom to pop off
Yep. I was honestly expecting a catastrophic disassembly halfway through the video because he was using cans and tape vs. explosive gasses.
Who else loves the new animated shorts
The King of Tennis Balls
You are the best
Were does he get his ideas??????
From walmart
His mind
Rainier Plazuela from all over the internet
Its just a potato canon, but for tennis balls
From Cody’s Lab and The Action Lab
Oh man, I like this better than a potato cannon (which is what I was looking for originally). You can re-use the tennis balls, and it costs way less. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Am I the only one thinking that this would be great for my dog?
Should have used the metal cans that the tennis balls come in when you bought them! Ether starting fluid works great
Pvc and compressed air are better
And potatoes
We put a couple churchkey holes in the bottom can enabling easy lighting and full burn .
We've been making these in Australia for years with PVC pipe. Fires potatoes, onions, pretty much anything that fits in there nice and firm
Make it semi-automatic or fully automatic !
This is really common in the Netherlands. Its called a "aardappelkannon" and it shoots with hairpray. Nice vid btw👍
I don't suppose aardappel is dutch for potato perchance? They are also a common experiment for New Zealand youngsters, and we call it a potato cannon (also with hairspray and usually pvc pipe instead of cans).
Ik kom uit nederland
I'am from Holland
We built them in the 70s and used mom's lysol as the fuel. We never had a misfire.
These videos are comming REALLY well edited, wow, great work for real!, also the videos are great too (the experiments)
put paint in a balloon freeze the balloon and break the balloon
Make a smart mirror please!
Emonra
Emonra a what mirror?
an interactive mirror which consist of a monitor and one way mirror
If only they made metal Pringle cans
“All we need to get started is 8 or 9 soup cans” 😂
Will cyanoacrylate melt bubble wraps or will it harden them? I'm curious
Been here for ages crazy to see how your changing ;)
*You’re . You are, you’re
Andrew Richardson oh yeah thanks
When it’s easier to make a high powered tennis ball launcher than a pool noodle launcher
That was a huge difference in humor
this guy is just redoing old youtube videos
and i think it would be cheaper just to buy a scrap of pvc pipe.
this is basically a spud gun
Small request try mixing ooblek and super glue (2) cornstarch and super glue
Great video! i love your creativity.
Only the king of random could make empty cans exciting.
I LOVE UR VIDS 👑👑👑
Same
especially when they are not forced to 10 minute mark
I am always see this on my place playing.. 😂
Ether/diesel starting fluid works the best. Close second is aerosol hair spray.
Have made many of these over the years with pvc and potatoes or apples for ammo. Sharpen the barrel end of pvc to help cut the potato dish to exact size when shoved in
Take this design and scale it up to fit giant tennis balls
Do something with pop rocks!
What happens if you put two sniper sights on a gun right in front of each other. Does it enhance the zoom? Also try putting one sniper scope on a gun and another scope in front of the sniper scope like a red dot sight. This should be interesting....
FallingJuiceBox their isn't enough space for two scopes. Each scope takes at least half them for the rings and the long range scopes extend past the upper in both directions even for cheap ones. They already make a red dot on magnified zoom combo they run $299-1,000 USD.
FallingJuiceBox short answer yes. Its typical for soldiers to have a 4 to 5x multiplier on a swivle for their holo sights.
Cayden Skinner your lucky I’m subscribed to them
😨 amazing
Great work TKOR
The foam thing is unexpected😂 btw awesome vid!
Can I use PVC instead of the cans?
kareem ahmed PVC of the correct diameter would be even more effective
its essentially a potato gun.
Jack Stephens
Thank You :D
Its similar to a potato launcher
Pringles can
_'I know what you are thinking'_ *"don't start shooting you pets!"*
Gadgets Discover so what exactly do you mean?
Don’t start shooting at the pets or shooting something with the pets?
😂😂
Love the animations bro!!!!!
Nice idea of building a cannon!!
Notification gang
Try making a golf ball cannon.
We put tiny hole on the top lid of the bottom can all the way around with a bottle opener litttle triangles then a tiny triangle on the side of the bottom can near the bottom and get close to 1000ft with lighter fluid once its primed correctly
You can use the 3-pack tennis ball cans and tape them together into a cannon for a tighter fit
In the philippines if we don't have firecrackers or fireworks that is the thing that we use because that is loud😁
Yeah we use denatured alcohol as fuel and the lighter's igniting mechanism
would love to see if they could make a glow i the dark lolipop
51 savage why would you want to lick foreign chemicals off of a candy ._.
Candy is made of chemicals... Everything is made of chemicals.
iamsobanned Editted it
I don't think it would be edible, but I'm sure it would *Look* really cool!
Why would you do that!?
Try cutting the top off of a soda can, turning it upside down and dropping it in the mortar, then the tennis ball on top of that. It works like a sabot. Works the best I've found, traps all the gas and propels it further
Nate's expressions in this video 😂😂😂
so it is a potato gun 🤦🏻♂️
Make a diy ball Mill.
I used to make one when I was a kid. However, we did not use so many cans. When pop (soda) cans were steel we stacked six together. We also did not shove the ball so far down the cannon. We usually stopped the ball at the first can. Lighter fluid worked perfectly well because the combustion chamber was smaller with only six cans. We used to get great height and a very loud blast.
I have double walled cannon with a 3 liter combustion chamber and a 4 ft barrel. It has electric ignition so You can seal the camber completely and uses a mix of oxygen and propane as the fuel. It can lunch a sand filled tennis ball over 1500ft.
That's a CANnon, get it?😏
Random Gamer no
Lol
Can you put blood in a vacuum chamber
That's amazing!!!
U should be the king of random ideas
That is "boga" in the philippines...
Can you see what an airsoft gun can do to random objects btw love ur vidio thay always make my day
Aquanet works amazingly.
You need to hold the cans going up your arm and after spinning the hole thing like a propeller with the fluid in it .Then set it down real quick put the ball in it and light it

Why are you buying clothes at the soup store
Snickwad So go to the next aisle
There's just more soup
Karl Kissner II WHAT DO YOU MEAN THERE IS ONLY SOUP
We used soda cans back in the 70's. Lighter fluid as explosive source
Glasses over glasses the new gangster
Best can opener ever...
His reactions are soOOOooOooOoOOoOo CUTE~ 😊
When I was young and did this we used steel soda cans as they fit the tennis balls tighter. The best fuel to use is calcium carbide or miners lamp fuel. We would put two or three "rocks" through a keyhole in the bottom can, add water, wait about 20 seconds and then ignite it. Tennis balls would regularly go 100 to 150 yards high.
Starting fluid is the best for it
