I am a Gambian living in the States but the security is very fragile right now the government needs to do better!! For the sisters be very vigilant as even Gambian's are being killed and anyone suspected of having money is a prey especially if you are single. Lots of foreigners committing crimes and some Gambian's.
So far it's been Black women. My prayers go out to all our sisters, and may our beautiful sisters rest in peace. I know there is an area in the Gambia, where European women have money and relationships with Gambian men, I have not heard of any of those women being unalived.
It's a challenge. Best we acknowledge that... and hopefully by highlighting generate enough voice for authorities to be on top of their game. They have someone in custody for Shakina, a foreign national. There have been many more developments since.
Sad news for her family and for Gambia as well. This problem in Gambia is not Gambians Gambian thieves are petty thieves and they don’t do these sort of things. The people who do this rent houses and operate from there. Nigerians Malians sierra leonians etc. Gambiians would rather guide tourists and so on that’s it but not killing peoples NO
@@Nengit actually he is not wrong ,many thieves in Gambia have always been found to be from other west African countries but there are definitely also Gambian thieves too

Because Gambia is in Africa, and Africa is home. Africa is collectively our business as Africans. The whole idea is to share knowledge, correct us from within and make this home for Africa's children. But I would imagine these as isolated and security problems certainly are not a preserve of any one nation. There are always layers of problems that underpin these issues.
You guys are portraying a bad image of The Gambia. People are being murdered in the UK and elsewhere. So, don't make it sound like it's extraordinary for someone to be killed in The Gambia or that blacks from the diaspora are deliberately targeted. You leave Europe and the US where you are discriminated and come to The Gambia where you're welcomed. You build mansions and live a life you've never imagined in the diaspora. So, be grateful and appreciate what The Gambia offers to you rather than portraying a bad image of the country.
I looked at this entire video, and at no point did I see anything about anyone trying to paint your country in a bad light. The African-American woman just simply asked what’s going on in Gambia, and the African man kindly educated us. The fact that you are this offended by this scares me that makes me want to stay away even more .
@31284502 a lot of negative things were said about The Gambia and Gambians in the video. If you choose to ignore them, that's up to you. My point is, you guys should be grateful and appreciative of what The Gambia offers to you. That's not too much to ask for.
Are black diaspora deliberately targeted, I don't think so. Are m*rders a preserve of The Gambia, certainly not. These things obtain in society over competition for resources and numerous other underlying factors. Was the sister m*rdered, yes. The evidence points to it. She couldn't possibly do that to herself, and end up in a well! This story is a reflection on hers and recent incidents in context to the history of Gambia and its own unique challenges and strengths. As Africans we should embrace discussion that will help us build the continent amidst the massive challenge of political elite domination across a majority of Africa. If you watched this to the end you would certainly appreciate the full context of the story.
People think they go to Afrika and they are home but for many of us who Are Afroasiatic is not our home, dont get me wrong, there are a lot Afroasiatics in Afrika but is not their homeland neither

Will anyone be held responsible for her passing? Thank you the video is very informative.
Someone was arrested. Investigations ongoing
Very good explanation. Security is very important in any country UK or Gambia.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
Thank you.
So sad. I don't know her motivation for repatriation to Gambia, but no one deserves to be deleted because they had money.
Very sad loss of Shakina Chinedu who was a beautiful soul
