- A collective shock was felt when David Bowie passed this past Sunday, a couple days after his 69th birthday. We immediately teamed up with the Art Gallery of Ontario to pay tribute by singing our original arrangement of Space Oddity with 500+ singers. It all went down last night in Walker Court and here's how it sounded, looked, and felt. RIP Starman: to say we'll miss you doesn't even scratch the surface.
Recorded in Toronto January 16th by Choir! Choir! Choir!. We usually meet Tuesdays and Wednesdays. There are no auditions and everyone is welcome to join. Find us at choirchoirchoir.com + @choirchoirchoir (Tw/Insta). Hear even more at soundcloud.com/choir-choir-choir.com

David Bowie isn't dead.
He just went home.
Beautiful
Perfect.
He’s the Starman
so true dave
Well said!😌
Just when I thought i was done crying over his passing.
+bianchi1885 yep same here :-( stunning
Same😢
Crying now. Miss that man so much.
Wow, this is incredibly moving. The day after Bowie died, I was listening to The Robert Elms Show on BBC Radio London. He was crying unapologetically live on air.
I've listened to this so many times, I can't count. The beauty of it!
This choir really has talent. It shines my day of isolation.
The most telling thing here is how few needed the sheet with lyrics....this song is almost like a right of passage for any music lover over the last 40+ years ..
Awesome...Did David ever realise how much people loved him.
Freddie Mercury has waited 25 years for Bowie to get there :)
Doubt as they didn't get along all that well.
Still made some great music together though
@@OtherSideOfMorning I think Freddie scared Bowie just a bit.
David was singing right along. Beautiful
Wow! That was... emotional, I felt tingles. Beautiful.
With all the strife in the world - both near and far - it is touching to see and hear people at their caring and respectful best. Class act.
This performance moved me beyond words. I was unable to get tickets and am so happy it went down without a hitch. There isn't a doubt in my mind that somewhere, out there, Bowie felt this.
Very moving , what a beautifully done tribute !
This is so WONDERFUL and I am so disappointed that I missed it!! Thank you AGO!
I was brought to tears sitting at my desk at work. Thanks Toronto! Amazing work.
I've always found this classic very moving. And this arrangement manages to take that further. Beautiful...
Completely Awesome ! God, I miss him !
Phenomenal. Bravo!
Best. Tribute. Ever. Still my favourite David Bowie song of all time, and 500 voices do it justice :-)
I am a 61-year old Belgian... I cried, like many other watchin' this marvelous video. Thanks to all of you.
This is bringing us hope an humanity in times you would think everything leads to no future.
Vive le Canada. Vive David Bowie. L'homme, le musicien, l'artiste, il nous manque.
Friendly from Chaumont-GIstoux

I didn't even know this existed until I read about it in the Toronto Star. So I came looking for this tribute thinking "okay, no big deal, I'll give it a listen BUT no more tears and it won't be THAT good anyway." Oops. It is that good. For some reason I was thinking the audience was there to listen, NOT that the audience was the choir. I think I made it to the second sentence before crying over this preformance. I honestly thought that I was finally resigned to the loss of an artist I came to love in the early 1970's. This is a beautiful tribute and the choir should know how much their preformance has moved so many of us. Thank you.
I don't have a personal connection to Bowie or any of his music at all, but watching this made me cry. It was really beautiful seeing so many people come together like that, and it was a really amazing tribute to a respected musician.
This was an incredible evening. Thank you Nobu and Daveed and AGO for making it happen
Toronto's dedication to David Bowie. I cried when I saw this.
Very nice! Sir David would have been proud.
What a beautiful tribute to the late and great David Bowie. Gave me goosebumps !
THIS is the kind of tribute I needed. Thank you for your beautiful performance.
Beautiful. Thank you. Also thank you AGO.
We miss you, David. ❤
One of my favorite videos ever. Thank you, David Bowie.
EVERYBODY I've played this to has finished with tears in their eyes.
+Mike Holt duh.. if you shed no tears to this you're obviously are robot.
Why would you assume I didn't....??
+Mike Holt I didn't assume that at all. You hitted the right chord.
Ah! Sorry mate :)
+Mike Holt it's cool dude :-)
Sweet. Got a little teary eyed listening
I cried everytime I watch this
Oh my. Ah....my heart aches listening to this. A truly beautiful song.
Thank you for this beautiful and moving performance. You are doing healing work for those who have lost a beloved hero.
I found you recently as I was surfing and you sang The Rainbow Connection... One of my favorite songs. I'm addicted now! 🎶 Just beautiful and touching. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. ❤
Makes you glad to be a Canadian. 😪
Exactly, songs like these are truly what makes us Canadians special
+Toothless Does Gaming If anything, it makes the British special since David Bowie is British
+Alex Wagner (phuzznutz) this choir group is Canadian
+osbely They will soon be singing muslim tunes. Better take arms.
+Voodoo Child Or I guess you could say it's the Americans and Russians who are special since they're the only countries, at the time this song was written, to launch people in to space.
I'd rather think it just makes people special, you know?
Beautiful. Perfect. Tears...
Beautiful celebration of a magnificent artist. Thanks for making me tear up again :)
Such a beautiful way to say goodbye to a music legend!
Right in the feels. Thanks Canada.
More beautiful than words can discribe tears tears tears Thank you

As always, amazing amazing work.I wish we had something like this in my country!
I have always found this beautiful. I remember when I first became aware of D.Bowie. I must admit I originally wasn't a fan. But now, I truly appreciate his music.
Choir Choir Choir did an amazing job!
Ah. The tribute I was looking for. Thanks for a such a beautiful one.
+Gregory Bryant check out The Sound of Amnesia version on FB. Brilliant as well.
+Gregory Bryant sorry no FB but soundcloud
Thanks to everyone who participated
My favourite thing was seeing all the people who didn't require the lyrics...David Bowie touched so many, he will be sorely missed.
+edgeimage just FYI, the lyric sheet also had the arrangement -- which was 3-part harmony. most people know the words, obviously, but there were a few different parts. we didn't know the arrangement ahead of time, it was taught to the crowd just prior to the video being shot. hence the lyric sheets.
+Barb McIvor Yes, I figured the sheets were for chords. My point being is that it's still wonderful knowing that that many people knew his lyrics.
Just the best. The room adds to the sound so much.
I'm singing a long too in front of my laptop! ;D
Goosebumps since the first moment... thanks a lot.
muito emocionante, quero um disco inteiro assim

So beautiful! I'm bawling right now....Such a beautiful tribute to him...One of my favorite artists...RIP David Bowie...You were a genius! Always ahead of your time.....
This has to be one of the most beautiful versions of this song! For me, the only one better is Chris Hadfield singing it on the ISS, in actual space.
This video made me cry...It's so moving and so beautiful...
Wonderful !!!!!!! Bowie is unforgetable !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
