Thank you Vartan!! For helping Buckin get wood for Brian!!! YALL ARE SOME GOOD MEN!! That's some awesome content brother!! Helping one another, we'll, that's just awesome!! And if Brian came to see you Buckin at one of your lowest points in life, we'll that's a good friend to have on your side brother!! Job well done, much love from my family to yours...❤
Hard work is good for the mind and body, hard work for a friend is good for the soul. Watching friends cut and split wood for another friend whos strength is fading is the very essence of what a community and a village is supposed to be. Thank you Vartan! Thank you Buckin! Thank you Brian!
Ah Buckin' Billy Ray "Edward Saw Hands". Thanks Vartan. Thanks Brian for all those years ago. Especially thank you Buckin', you are genuinely 1 of a kind and we all draw inspiration from you.
Absolutely! Thank you for all you do Vartan! Billy Ray, you are truly an inspiration! I can only aspire to be at your level, but I am climbing! Thank you for your channel! I look forward to seeing them when I get home. It's really helping me on SO many levels! Keep spreading the word! Thank you friend!
Cutting dirty wood is not much fun, especially the repeated sharpening. But you made me smile, when you described that as ‘dirty wood’. The other day I was cutting old oak, that had been down two years and stacked against a wall. Bark almost fell off but covered in gritty earth, welded to the ground and has a late resident wasp nest. Every half tank requiring a quick dressing file. Yep. Time comes to us all. Just hang in there and keep going while you can. You may have to adjust how you work or just lessen the time. But when you’re used to doing something, no matter what. If it’s doing you good and helping out family & friends. Then giving up could make your mind wander. So let time to others and keep going while you may. May time be your friend, not your enemy. So you didn’t get all of it done yesterday, there’s still tomorrow.
I wish I could share your story to more people out there!! I’ve known it for a long time. Your heart is bigger than any equipment you own!! Bless you!!
Thank you Vartan for sharing the wood brother! Buckin I wanted to let you know I delivered my first 2 cords of firewood with that '67 Ford F600 yesterday! Gotta love the Buckin and splitting content.. Looking healthy and mobile brother! Winters coming....
One thing l know for sure. Buckin has taught me a golden rule. Help others, go out of your way. Only takes a moment of your day. To do something nice for someone. But Buckin always goes above and beyond. Helping a person with firewood is a big deal. And he gets a real kick out of it.
Thanks Vartan , working with friends for friends is one of the best fillings you can have. No it's a blessing. Both of you all keep on keeping on and God bless you .
I just inherited my uncle's primary firewood saw, a 357XP w/ 20" bar. It's the most powerful saw I have now. (My other saw is a 55 w/ 18"...) Interesting to see it run a 24" bar. But at only 1 lb more you're making a good sales pitch for the 372.
Hello Bucking Billy Ray, I'm in High Desert California, I Hear my Home with Wood Stove, Cut All my Wood on my own Property, I have Planted Eucalyptus to harvest, and then Stump Culture to Regrow, Plus I Have some Native Old Growth Live Oak. Splitting by Hand. sledge, Maul Wedges, those Conifers Look like Gravy train.
Billy Ray. I just saw your program and got a great gut feeling from how you relate to the man who offered his help when you needed it. It’s inexplicable but one of those things of life. Thanks for your videos Keep on buckin
Folks like Vartan are the ones that you want to surround yourself with. They will be there when life gets rough and not shy away when there is a friend in need.
Sometging oddly satisfying when you can peel the bark off your firewood. I can bring home a whole f250 load of chestnut oak without one piece of bark on it. I shake my head and smile.
The Stihl 2 in 1 really helped me learn the angles and the feel of hand filing. It does take the rakers really low though, especially when not running higher hp saws.
Love your videos, I have a new to me 2002, 357XP It is 1kg (2.2lbs)lighter than my father in laws MS362 it's much better built and one of my favorite small saws to run.
I have this exact combination. I love my 357XP as it’s a great firewood saw. The factory big bore 372XPW is one of the best saws Husqvarna ever made. I love running these saws.
Always nice to see ya in the wood pile💪I never see you use a round chain when going into dirty wood… I find little difference in the speed but it is so much more durable👍
I have owned about every brand of chain saw over the last 45 years. My all-time favorite was a Jonsered 910. I used Husqvarna for many years but the last pair I bought, 1 worked great and the other one was nothing but trouble and Husqvarna warranty proved to be worthless. Probably my second favorite was a Shindaiwa 375. Echo now owns Shindaiwa and brands them Echo. I find that 75% of my wood cutting is done with a 50cc saw, with a 16" bar. My new favorite is an Echo 501P. It is a great saw, cuts fast, and has been trouble free. A sharp chain is everything. If I was younger, I would have a 70-90 cc saw but my backup is an Echo 590 Timberwolf with 20" bar. If I need anything bigger, I need help anyway. I know several professional loggers and call them if I need help.
You're amazing man, I started watching your videos when I was looking to understand chains.. You made it very clear, after you tips, my chains are now eating wood like butter. It's very small wood tho I live in eastern Canada, in the maritimes, a place called Magdalen Islands and we don't have much trees here and the ones we have are very small. I would LOOOOOVE to fall a big monster like you do.
@rileyjohnston8393 I'm sure they would love all the old stuff that lasts forever to fade away so they can roll out battery powered saws. I think we are 5 to 10yrs out from total transition
@@llewmatthews4828 I think the battery tech is going to continue to improve and will become more common, but I think it will be a while before anything electric can compete with a 70+cc saw. I had a thermodynamics professor that explained how he didn’t think we would see viable electric airliners for several decades because no battery can currently come close to storing as much energy per weight as petroleum. So I think smaller electric saws will get better but it (hopefully) be a while before they can compete with the big saws 🤠
BILLYRay speaking of father time gettin at us rminds me of my mom. She was a ranch raised girl from Montana, she was tough ol' gal. She's been gone now for over 20 years, she always said, "Gettin' old isn't for sissies." Now that I'm pushin' 70, I know what she means!!
Love your videos but that truck... I would love just to ride in it . After a good day of cuttin. Yes the 362 Stihl is an amazing saw but I think u give us all something to work with.

Great seeing this mid size video couldn't help to notice tho you rolling those logs by hand. Would have figured you'd use a cane hook to help save your back. Love the videos especially seeing a mid size saw
I understand now, the 24 inch bar looks the right size in 'timber' dragged out in log form, where it had just got too 'tree like' to remain in field hedgerow situations. The problem or difficulty with stuff that wants to turn into a tree in a hedgerow situation, is the hedge type stuff has to compete for resources with the tree type stuff. And it can't compete. Thhe point is, that's timber for sure and hardwood that comes out of a hedgerow, and is dragged away as logs. But it's still handy enough in scale that a 24 inch bar doesn't look ridiculously small in it. This Canada timber, even the smallest of those logs, the twenty four inch bar does start to disappear into it and get lost.
What's missing in the Canadian set of tools though (because the axe tool is well established and embedded into the culture of the Pacific there), is the poorer relation to the axe, which is the briar hook and, or the humble slasher. Just for pre-cutting survey and investigation. Brush cutters have somewhat eliminated the need for these tools which are like poorer relations to the axe. Yet, a briar hook tool or the axe doesn't occupy as much space as a brush cutter. And the hand tool doesn't need two stroke.
Those 357s are amazing little saws but your 100% dead on though, I’d rather have the weight and extra power of the 372. That’s why I run my 046, it’s got some really aggressive porting and it’s way more power than a stock and a lot of ported 500is, and that extra power makes up for the extra weight. I’m sure the rip saw 500 would give my 046 a run for it’s money though
Wow since last time I checked your videos 2 years ago you had so much more strength and mass, I hate seeing people age and their strength fading away 😢 I really need to stop being too sentimental and sensitive

I own chainsaws because I need them. I'm a pro woodworker so they earn their keep and keep me in firewood. On my earnings you need all the cheap heating you can get. Chainsaws are a work out. That's okay. Mostly I use my Stihl 660 25" and 362 20" to break up logs. My back is strong so I don't mind bending and lifting with my knees. Sharpening ? Been doing it all my life. But I see so many neighbours thrashing blunt teeth ! You can't teach them though....It's in one ear and out the other. They will work that sucker to death then change the chain ! Hey Buckin Thank you Vartan!! He’s a beast. Are you just eye balling the 14” bucks because they look dead on each the same length??
I'm really starting to get the filing down it really is about that pulling hand.
You've helped me so much through the years. Thanks Buckin
welcome
You're a good man, Buckin" Taking care of friends is so rewarding. Did you get an MRI on your right shoulder? You may need rotator cuff repair.
Your filing has helped me alot thank you

That's it is very very good and kind you do.

sounds good

Love this vidyuh.....there's a little bit of everything. Be good humans!
Getting a 262xp rebuild now. New crankshaft and piston...parts are so expensive and take ages to order
amazing mid sized firewood saw. Tiny dogs.
Husqvarna charges so much for little parts it’s crazy, makes Stihl parts seem cheap

Hi friends good day to you
Hi friend 👋
Hi Critter, thanks and the same to you 😊❤️
The only time I really pay attention is in the woods ... Pack the extra pounds it's beautiful
How does the Stihl/Pferd 2 in 1 file do it wrong? Glad to see more vids like this showing more typical saws.

That 24” bar makes that saw look like something you would have in a tree with you buddy 😂 !
Any tips for getting each cut piece of wood 🪵 the right length?

Hey buckin the old crewkie might be lacking a little power steering juice, tell Brian we said hello
the whole system is pouched
Hey Buckin, here's to 500k subs before Christmas!! We can do it
✊🏻
Doesn't filing with the chain on the bar deposit a lot of filings in the bar slot ? May cause excessive wear ? Another great video, thanks !

They will work that sucker to death then change the chain !
Get them sharpened at the stealership. Lol.
Dealer's give bad advice to the chumps but they know better than to bullshit the pros.
I'm to honest to sell chainsaws.
I saw the doobie Brothers years ago in lake placid
Hi Buckin
Do you used raker gauge each time you sharpening your chain?
Don't need to bud. If you got the gullet and you feel it's not cutting, get the rakers. 😊
I do them every second sharpening if im just touching up a wood dull chain that takes a few swipes with the round file to be sharp again.
Looks so fun to split that brittle wood, it is way less fun splitting red oak!! LoL
Great channel verry informative and uplifting with you're positive attitude, just wondering with the price of fuel and the trucks drivetrain why you wouldn't pull a single axle trailer behind you ?
You and Jimmy 😂
You beaudy mate!
Is there a trick to not dulling the saw, when cutting a log with a rotten core that has basically mud in it
WORK HARD PLAY HARD STAY HARD
Especially 12 inch firewood? Ice shack firewood? Even then hardwood is what you want.

Ciao amico, buona giornata
