Just come across your channel I have a Wingham wool extra large drum carder but the Classic Carder shop and Paul Brittan's double wide high sided carder would have been my next choice Watching you take the carder out was so sweet and lovely, you reminded me of one of my children when they were younger Love, Hugs and best wishes ❤🤗 Ginnie-Jo from the North west of England
@@MarquitasKnottyCrush so excited to sort the guard hairs out and see the creamy camel color I think the fiber will end up being! Always happy to share with ya’ll!
@@Scott-N-Atl honestly watching reviews for some of the other drum carders I was considering kind of deterred me for a bit, because they’re so pricey I was wary of some of the drawbacks of other models- but the Classic carders fit the bill perfectly, such a beautiful tool
I was at Maryland Sheep & Wool! I enjoyed it even with the rain-it was more of a misty rain and kept things cool. I wish I had known you so I could have said ‘Hi!’ as a fan! I’m an amateur fiber artist.
I actually passed you in one of the barns but the mustache threw me for just a second too long to say hi before you were off again. 😅 You will love the carder though, I got one a few months beforehand.
@@andreacocco5653 oh my gosh! Next time you’ll have to catch me! I brought a non-yarny local friend to the event this year, so we were doing a lot of running around! Already looking forward to next year though, and you’re so right!! The carder has been a delight
@@palustrine yes!! Trying to make more YT content lately, it’s a great easily searchable resource for people & I have a lot of fun filming the videos (not as much fun editing 😅)

Once I’m there I find a few fleeces I like, and hem and haw a bit about cross comparison (softness, quality overall, VM content) and then settle on a few! I usually bring home ~3-4 fleeces, so I was being extra picky this year!
This is good learning, thanks. I have been asked to assess by myself with no clue and had to just decline and have bought the filthiest messes you never want to see because Ineas naive and they were as cheap.as they were dirty. ($5/bag, 2 fleeces per) I now have more than 3 years worth of wool prep in my collection. Heh. I often wonder when I eill find moths but I guess the washing and vacuum bags are working.
I don't know how much dye you need for your projects or what the general prices are, but at least in the sewing community Dharma Trading dyes are often recommended. I can't speak to them myself, but the company as a whole is generally well regarded.

You're going to love this drum carder. I bought the high Classic Compact back in the spring. Can't believe I waited 20 years to buy a drum carder.
