Annie Thorisdottir: Among the Fittest in the World for 13 Years

- Annie Thorisdottir has had an illustrious 13-year career at the CrossFit Games.
In addition to earning the title of Fittest Woman on Earth twice (2011-2012), she is also the only individual athlete to compete at the CrossFit Games across three decades.
Thorisdottir made her Games debut in 2009 and went on to be a six-time podium finisher. Most notably, she placed third overall at the 2021 CrossFit Games, barely a year after giving birth to her daughter, Freyja.
At the 2022 CrossFit Games, Thorisdottir - owner of CrossFit Reykjavik - captained a team to a fourth-place finish on her first attempt at winning the Affiliate Cup.
This year, at her 13th CrossFit Games appearance, the mother of one and Queen of Iceland, as she is often called, finished as the 13th fittest on Earth.
Thorisdottir has become a household name over the years and she continues to inspire many around the world to start their own CrossFit journeys, always donning a smile.

Every year since 2007, fans from around the world have attended the multi-day sporting event, streamed the competition online, or watched on ESPN, CBS, or a wide range of international broadcasts. The international field of play has included athletes from more than 120 countries. The CrossFit Games starts in the qualifying round with 300,000+ athletes competing around the world. Throughout the season the field is whittled down to just 560 athletes.

@CrossFitGamesTV favourite year is when she came back from pregnancy, after the doctor said she couldn't lift weights like she used to, and got 3rd place in the games.
Favourite moment has to be the second place finish in the max snatch against Tia. Pound for pound they went at it. What an amazing moment. Inspiring moment and one of the most emotional moments I've ever seen in sports.
Jon Pall Sigmarson is one of my childhood heroes. A great and legenday sportman! To me Annie stands, at the least, on equal footing with Jon Pall. A friggin' princess warrior from Iceland! 💪💪💪❤
She is truly the greatest Crossfitter bar none to me. She represents everything we aspire to be as life long athletes who are also moms. She is proud of her country and supportive of her fellow competitors. GOAT for sure! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
