Have you read any of award-winner Kate DiCamillo's books, such as Leroy Ninker Saddles Up and all the other Deckawoo Drive books and The Adventure of Edward Tulane? All her books are wonderful! And she has a couple of book written about tween or teen protagonists that I haven't read. I highly recommend her. And all David Shannon's picture books, especially TOO MANY TOYS. He writes and illustrates and his illustrations are marvelous. I agree about picture books being for all ages. I love to share picture books with teenagers and adults for the writing and also for the amazing art. I'm 65 and raising a 7-year-old little boy, and I am thrilled at all the picture books I have good reason and opportunity to read. Again, love, love, love your channel.
Oh, we just listened to Crenshaw on audiobook. It's book, but be prepared. It definitely brought up some challenging conversations. Green Ember was one of our favorites as well and we ended up purchasing all the ebooks and reading the whole series.
