Bro! I fished this same spot a week after you -- about 150-200 yards west of where you were in this video (actually did two videos, one where I came back and focused on clamming, neither posted yet, I'm as slow at editing as you are, lol) -- and in my 2nd trip I caught a RIDICULOUSLY huge mullet in my cast net! I legit thought I had a slot drum at first. It was my last day so I let it go, but it would have provided cut bait for a couple days of surf fishing. And what's up with all the flatties? I'm in town again right now and I've never caught more keeper flounder than I have this Oct/Nov. Maybe NC can loosen up the founder restrictions a bit...?
Man The flounder got obliterated the 14 days it was open. It’s all about politics and money. Can’t let the recreational anglers have too many fish 🙄🙄🙄 I stopped targeting them this year other than the 14 days we had open. Welcome to North Carolina. Gill nets are legal But we can’t keep a flounder a day.
LOL, I fished that same pair of trees one day between Oct 17-23rd 2021, and spent a good hour chasing what was probably the very same school of mullet! Some were flat out huge. They say reds will follow mullet to feed on what the mullet churn up but we only got 1 red all day, and not in that area. We did catch quite a few flounder drifting along with the current, but 1/4 mile or more out from this shoreline.
That flatty is dinner boy????? You can't keep flounder there??? Not big enough?? Or wrong time of year??.. I'm looking to move down that way from Delaware.. right now I'm in Wilmington Delaware
Great video!! Slayed the Flatties !!

Yeah I’m trying to spread this videos out over the winter lol. Flounder are everywhere it’s wild. Sucks season is closed or else would have a limit

I fished over at the inlet last November and caught flounder on every cast. Come on NC open up the season

They’ve been closing the season for a few years now, only open for like 2 weeks out the year
We are full. Sorry.
lizardfish are the prime reason i dont like jigging, they tear gulps up. fun to catch but bad on the gear
They were everywhere lol. They do get old, bummer we couldn’t of kept the flounder or else it would of been a solid day
Z-Man baits hold up a lot better against lizards or blues.
@@minniesfishies3024 if I see them I'll give em a try
i was there last week, until the storm chased us out. caught big drum on okracoke south end.
I’ll have a video coming from ocracoke up next
Good spot bro many fishes 👍👍
I'll be there the week of Oct 9th. going to try my hand at jigging. Do you recommend anything other than what you used last year???
Its almost that time of the year my friend! a week a way and the people will be going crazy in the flats over those!
I’ll be there soon
Nice video. That is such a cool place to fish. I hope it doesn’t get too popular.
As usual nice video! When did you switch to the shield 4000? I'm used to you using a slammer.
Thanks man. I still got the slammer but it’s a little big, 4500. I got the shield couple months back. My clash 4000 got beat up, it replaced that
