I never saw this movie until now. I been looking for it because my older brother and his wife saw it back then. I have always been a Roy Orbison fan even though I was not born until 64. He has the most beautiful for a man singer. I don't think anyone could repeat him. God bless Roy I hope he is singing in heaven.
I'm in my sixties ,, i see this at the pictures / cinema when I was about 14 a double feature with one of our agents is missing ,the man from Uncle movie , Thanks Whity72
Thank you so much for sharing this movie, i didn't know it existed until now, i didn't know Roy Orbison acted in anything, but whether he can act or sing in anything, he has me sold, He was so good looking for 31, i could see him as a ladie's man. Now i have seen everything with that guitar gun of Johnny's, lol.
i saw this movie last (4/20/2024) on the outlaw network. strange to see roy without his trademark sunglasses. yes, it was supposed to be in the old west. lol
What I find so interesting about these western movies that take place around the time of the Civil War is that that the Spanish “parlor style” guitar was not readily available, or popular until the 1880’s. 😊
From my "WTH were you thinking Roy" files: In 1965 Roy signed a new recording contract with MGM, valued at $1 million ($11 million in 2023 money). Witnessing Elvis Presley's success as a Hollywood star, Roy's MGM contract provided for production of five movies, with Roy as THE star. The project first called for The Fastest Guitar Alive to be a dramatic Western, but again copying Elvis's successful movie formula, Roy's movie was rewritten as a comedy (as quickly indicated by the lighthearted musical score). While this first film was a severe box office disappointment (we all can SEE why), Roy really liked it.
For someone that was so introverted, it must have been a struggle doing that movie. But he did pretty good, even though he wasn't the greatest at acting. But I never thought Elvis was a good actor either. Roy was talented beyond measure in the singing field, so he really didn't need this genre as well. His voice was beyond belief!
@@michaeldodds2722 I don't know how he was able to carry on like nothing happened. His ability to over come that tragedy, and then to have another horrific tragedy of his children dying in that fire is beyond me. He must have been made of sterner stuff than most people. I'm still perplexed about it. SMH!
It is, track #10 on the soundtrack album, and furthermore later used by Quentin Tarantino for his Hateful Eight Movie in 2015 ☺. One source tells us the song is in the movie, close to the end, but I cant find it, too. 🙄
@@agustinmoreno7320you don't say Sherlock. I ment that everyone says it was from that movie but that's not true he doesn't perform it in this movie it's only on the soundtrack lp from it but not sang in the movie itself like everyone says
That's the most animated I've ever seen Roy Orbison!! I just love that dude!! No one sings like Roy Orbison!!
Texas singers are the best roy orbison, buddy holly and Michael aday aka meat loaf
I watched this as a child, that’s when my admiration for Roy started, I loved the movie and Roy ❤
Roy had a voice for centuries of pleasureful listening

Not the best movie in the world but Roy had one helluva voice
Those original guitar gun props would be worth a FORTUNE now on eBay!

First time i saw roy in a movie.
A dreadful film, as Roy conceded, but what a brilliant soundtrack. Every song an Orbison/Dees composition, with Roy in magnificent voice.
Roy was not a great actor but I still enjoyed this movie and would have loved to see him do more, as well as that magical voice

Moreso when you think he had to do this film only 6 weeks after losing his wife Claudette in a motorcycle crash

this movie as a good one from Roy
I miss the song there won't be many coming home I thought it was from this movie?

I love Roy Orbison's music but this movie is MTS3K material
I can't find the Beach Movie "Daytona Beach Weekend" 1965.I can't even find the movie Trailer for it.
It’s the old west. Why doesn’t he just have a gun? Why does he have a weird secret agent type guitar that turns into one? Doesn’t make sense.
14:37 It took Steve MONTHS to set that up and you've almost ruined it!

I'm giving this the award for the worst movie with the best music ever
could they not have got real Native Americans to play the role of the Indians
Quentin Tarantino
Well but where? I didn't hear it
