Food boxes are usually full of expired can food that you can't really put a meal together from sadly..... But programs like these are so important. It's winter guys, it's too hard for children to be sleeping outside!!!; the truth is toys are nice but shouldn't you use that money to help them get warm blankets or camping gear I don't know. A toy is nice too I just think of "help" differently. I worry about families and children! This hurts my heart... But I'm grateful for programs like this that try to help.... 🤓

I had seen someone else (not on this video) mention there was a need for beds.
If there is a clear need for beds, there is a clear need for housing. We could easily provide it but corporations and wealthy individuals who have bought out TONS of housing and land only t upmarket it.
People like this woman get left behind.
      It hurts to watch.

Imagine being in her shoes but not in a giant school district with these resources. Imagine turning to all the organizations available only to still end up sleeping in your van..... this is a small fraction of the struggle. There are lots of organizations offering food but SAFE shelter is not easy to come by and theres no funds available to ensure you can get the Electric bill in your name so then youre back at square 1 back to the bottom of the list and you just waited more than a year to get there.

I think this is crazy. How is it we have all these places for rent sitting empty, yet we still have families homeless? Also these landlords need to be smacked back to reality! $1,600 a month for a 2 bedroom shack in an ally is insane!!! They are raising rent due to section 8 and vouchers. I think there needs to be a sanction on these rental properties. I get some 2 bedroom apartments might be nicer than others. But charging $1,600 a month for a $800 apartment or house is insane! It’s also greedy!

That's not really a landlord issue. raising interest rates and the higher cost of goods and services plays a bigger role. If your property tax goes up, the interest on your mortgage goes up, and the price for supplies and labor to fix/maintain a property go up then your rent has to raise. There are absolutely a ton of greedy land lords but there's way more to this problem than just greed. I mean you said it yourself, there's places for rent just sitting vacant. Why would landlords want their property to sit vacant? It's twice the bills to do that.
